Psalm 84:5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; ...
In all situations, we are blessed if God is our strength.
Sometimes we feel very weak, and maybe even fearful or full of despair, realizing that we don't know what to do in a matter or can't do what we think needs to be done. We are blessed when we turn to God, depending on Him to help us. As God helps us, and we go in the way He leads us, we are strengthened. But our strength isn't of ourselves, it is of God.
Other times we think we know, and can do, exactly what needs to be done. In this, as well, we are blessed when we turn to God about the matter, depending on Him rather than moving forward in our own wisdom and strength. We might think we know what is needed, but God knows everything about the matter and the best way to handle it.
David is a strong example of turning to God, not assuming he knew what to do and also depending on God when fears came. Here is an example ...
1 Samuel 23:1 Then they told David, saying, Behold, the Philistines fight against Keilah, and they rob the threshingfloors. 2 Therefore David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go and smite these Philistines? And the LORD said unto David, Go, and smite the Philistines, and save Keilah.
3 And David's men said unto him, Behold, we be afraid here in Judah: how much more then if we come to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines? 4 Then David enquired of the LORD yet again. And the LORD answered him and said, Arise, go down to Keilah; for I will deliver the Philistines into thine hand. 5 So David and his men went to Keilah, and fought with the Philistines, and brought away their cattle, and smote them with a great slaughter. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.
