Galatians 1 ... Reading through the Bible

1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised Him from the dead;) 2 And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia:
 

3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, 4 Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: 5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
 

6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from Him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 

8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
 

10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
 

11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. 12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
 

13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: 14 And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.
 

15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, 16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: 17 Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.
 

18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days. 19 But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother. 20 Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.
 

21 Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia; 22 And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ: 23 But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed. 24 And they glorified God in me.

Recently on TV they aired a 5 part series entitled OJ: Made in America

A man identified as being OJ Simpson's "pastor" said, "The only problem I saw is OJ didn't come to church enough."

OJ Simpson identified himself as having "received Jesus".  (This was when OJ Simpson was still married to his first wife, before the scandals.)

Here is what the Bible tells us to do if any man calling himself a brother be a fornicator ...

I Cor. 5 ... 11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? 13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.   


When the pastor made this statement that OJ Simpson should have come to church more, it was after OJ Simpson was shown as an adulterer and fornicator and after he was tried for murder and after he had been sent to prison for kidnapping in Nevada.

This pastor, like much of today's church world, does not consider what the Bible has to say about the subject of fornication, covetousness, idolatry, drunkenness, extortion, railing ...

They want to counsel, "love", get the wrongdoing "brother" to come to church ... The Bible instructs us to put such a brother out of the church when we see such.

Years ago, a woman mentioned a certain man's "girlfriend."  This man was a member of our church group and was even Bible teacher in the church.

I went to him immediately questioning him about this "girlfriend."

At first he was evasive. 

Then I point blank asked, "Are you having sex with this woman."

There was no shame at all displayed by him as he answered, "Of course."

I told him:  "You know the Bible as well as I do.  I will have no more communication with you."

He said, "OK ..."  He didn't show any signs of shame, repenting, or even caring.

But I did what the Bible says to do.  

The Bible doesn't say to counsel or pray for such a person.  The Bible tells us not to keep company any more with such a person and we are told to put him out of the church.

God Speaks To Us Through Thoughts


God speaks to us by the Holy Spirit who carries to us thoughts from the heart of God showing us the ways of God. (I Cor. 2)

The Holy Spirit often brings thoughts directly to the mind of the believer to instruct us or to keep us by the Word of God. We will be reminded of a scripture. The Holy Spirit does that. (Jn. 14:26). The Holy Spirit speaks truth bringing the idea, the will of God, the concept into our head as a thought.

4 ways the Holy Spirit helps the believer:

-He teaches us all things

-He reminds us of all Jesus (The Word) has said

-He guides us into all truth

-He shows us things to come


Jesus says:

Jn. 14:26 … 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Jn. 16:13 … 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.


Examples of the Holy Spirit speaking: 

A man in our little church group was considering building another building to store his excess stuff. As he thought on this, he heard the following, in form of thought: “Why don’t you just get rid of the stuff?”


My mother and I used to go get our lunch which always costs us $5.30. I would take out a five-dollar-bill and a quarter and a nickel and leave my purse in car with my mother while I went in for our food.

One day, I didn’t have a quarter and a nickel in my coin purse. I was digging through all the coins trying to find a quarter/nickel … It was as if someone was standing over my shoulder watching me hunt for the quarter/nickel when I heard the following: “Three dimes will work.”

That’s right! (I had plenty of dimes in coin purse.)


A mommy cat and her 3 kittens moved into my courtyard in August, 2015. I couldn’t get anyone to help me. All I could arrange was to have Animal Control set traps (they were all wild) and carry them off in traps and kill them. I was unwilling to do that. One day I had the thought that I could just let them live in the courtyard. I could feed them and give them water. I have an 8 foot fence back there so they would be protected. So I let them stay. As winter approached I bought a nice sized dog house for them to have shelter. I put old blankets on the floor and an old comforter on top of the blankets. They had a nice home, plenty of food and water.

In January, 2016, I saw stray male cats hanging around. I knew there was going to be trouble. I didn’t need more cats.

But I had no idea what I could do. These cats are wild.

Certainly I was praying. I knew I could have Animal Control set up traps and maybe I could pay Animal Control to take them to the “shelter” (where they kill animals) and have them “fix the cats” so no kittens. And after they were operated on have the cats returned to me. But I didn’t feel comfortable doing this with Animal Control. Do I really trust people who kill animals for a living?

I told God I couldn’t do anything until I had a peaceful way to do it. So I did nothing that day.

The day after, I awoke and was talking to God as I often do. I asked God to order my day, showing me what I should do that day. Immediately I had the following brought to my mind. “Cats”

I did not hesitate. I phoned an Animal Hospital, telling them the story and what I needed. The young man said they could arrange with Animal Control for them to trap the cats. When they were in cages, they would send someone over from the Animal Hospital to pick up the cages. They would operate on the 4 cats. Then when the cats were ready to return home, they would bring the 4 cats back to me and turn them loose in back courtyard.

I was very happy with this plan. I have extra social security money left over monthly so I had plenty of money to pay for this.

This is what we arranged to do.


How do you know if the idea is from God? The apostle James tells us.

James 3:17 … But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.


The young man from the Veterinarian Hospital said to me, “You are much nicer about handling this than most people.”

After I took in these cats and cared for them, God said to me by the Holy Spirit, “You take care of them like I take care of you.”

II Corinthians 13... Reading through the Bible

1 This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. 

2 I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare: 3 Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you. 4 For though he was crucified through weakness (of men), yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.
 

5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? 6 But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.
 

7 Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates. 

8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth. 

9 For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection. 

10 Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction.
 

11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.  

12 Greet one another with an holy kiss.  13 All the saints salute you.
 

14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

How can this scripture be profitable to me?

II Tim. 4 ...14 Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil:the Lord reward him according to his works:15 Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words. 

Comments by Joan Boney ... All scripture is inspired by God and is profitable to show us what to do in this life.

Paul spoke of Alexander the coppersmith and what he did ... How can this help me?   

This scripture was very helpful to me.  

The world teaches, "If you can't say anything good about someone, don't say anything at all."

The world teaches you to protect the name of wrongdoers.

By this warning given by the apostle Paul, God showed me to warn the church, naming the wrongdoer by name in the warning.

This scripture was critical in showing me what God wanted me to do.  

If you allow yourself to hate, it will be much harder for you to pray

The apostle Paul instructed ...

I Tim. 2 ... 1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

If we involve ourselves in this USA presidential election and jump on a bandwagon and hate and fight the other candidate, we have moved back into this world.

Have we forgotten the Bible?

Jn. 18:36 ... Jesus says:   My kingdom is not of this world:if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews:but now is my kingdom not from hence.

Col. 3 ...  1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

II Peter 3 ...  10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
 

14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.  

There will never be "righteousness" on this present earth.  Paul said ... 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. II Tim. 3


We will never see righteousness on this present earth.  It is the new heaven and the new earth wherein dwelleth rightousness.  (II Peter 3)

John told us about the new heaven, the new earth, the new Jerusalem ... in the following scripture:

Revelation 21 ...  1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth:for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain:for the former things are passed away.
 

5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write:for these words are true and faithful.
 

6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 

7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 

8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone:which is the second death. 

I Cor. 6 ...  9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived:neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you:but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. 

We who belong to God have another way, a way not like the people of this present world.

We are commissioned by God through the Holy Scriptures to live in peace as we await for Jesus.

You cannot live in peace if you allow yourself to depart from these scriptures and join this world, focused on men of this world and their actions.

I Jn. 5 ...  19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.


Our hope is in God and remains in God.  And we must deliberately focus on things of God, on HIS truths.

I think the current US presidential race is interesting and it excites the flesh for it is very different.  But there will be much hatred spread over the coming days.  

If I choose to listen to the hatred, I might be caught up in the hatred.

When it is all over, if the one elected is called to my mind by God, I hope to remember to pray according to I Tim. 2.

Daniel 4:25 ... The most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever HE will.



Daniel 4 ... Viewing the works of God through scripture

1 Nebuchadnezzar the king, unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you. 2 I thought it good to shew the signs and wonders that the high God hath wrought toward me. 3 How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.
 

4 I Nebuchadnezzar was at rest in mine house, and flourishing in my palace:  5 I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me. 6 Therefore made I a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream. 7 Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.

8 But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and before him I told the dream, saying, 9 O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof. 


10 Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great. 11 The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth: 12 The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it. 

13 I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven; 14 He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches: 15 Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth: 16 Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him. 17 This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever HE will, and setteth up over it the basest of men. 

18 This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.

(Nebuchadnezzar can't recognize The one God ... this is the way people of the world are.  They often go by their superstitions and have many gods ... when we, who are of the God who created heaven and earth, speak, they can't recognize one God though often they claim to be the church because they attend church and worship their churches.  It never occurs to them they are not even of God.  They are of their church and their own will.)

19 Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies. 


20 The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth; 21 Whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the heaven had their habitation: 22 It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth. 

23 And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him; 

24 This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king: 25 That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever HE will. 26 And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule. 

27 Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.

28 All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar. 29 At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon. 30 The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty? 


31 While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee. 32 And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever HE will. 

33 The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws. 

34 And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured HIM that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation: 35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and HE doeth according to HIS will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou? 

36 At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me. 

37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

God Speaks To Us Through Dreams


For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;

Then HE openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, That HE may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.

HE keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
Job 33:14-18

The New Testament is filled with examples of God speaking through dreams. So is Old Testament but what I was looking for concerning dreams were examples in NT of God giving dreams to people who had the Holy Spirit in them.


Here is one very strong example of God using a vision of the night (sounds like a dream) with a man who had the gifts of the NT, the Holy Spirit and all things the church has today.

This dream was given to the apostle Paul.

Acts 16:9 … 9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us. 10 And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

After being reminded of this example with Paul, I knew God uses dreams today in the NT church. 


Poison Gas Dream: 1979

In this dream, a meeting was going on. I went in the room and sat down and began to listen to the man who was speaking. 

All of a sudden a second man rushed in and said, “Stop … Wait … Can’t you see … It’s too late … It’s already begun …” The first man resumed speaking.

I looked out the windows to see “what” had already begun. 

There was a yellow, civil defense type warning speaker on top of a tall pole. 

A gas could be seen coming out of the speaker.

It was a poison gas.

I was very shocked! For the gas was coming from our own warning system. And I knew what was coming from the speaker would kill us.

I looked at the man seated next to me in the meeting room. He was looking attentively toward the speaker. He had a big smile on his face. Then I saw this man was a corpse. He was already dead.

I looked at the other people in the room. They, too, looked directly at the speaker and they had smiles on their faces. But they, too, were corpses.

And as I sat there listening to the speaker, I felt myself beginning to drift off to sleep and I knew his words were killing me also and I would be dead if I continued to sit among them.


One Wednesday night after that, I was at the church I attended at that time. I looked at the man sitting next to me. He was very attentive to pastor who was speaking. This man had a big smile on his face. He looked exactly like that man who was seated next to me in that dream… the man who was a corpse.

I looked about the auditorium and all the people seemed dead to me.

I got up immediately and left the room and went into the rest room and began talking to God.

I told God that I thought he was showing me to leave that church group so I was going to leave. I added that I would come back if HE showed me to return.

I went to my car and drove away.

God didn’t want me to return to that group. Though I didn’t see anything wrong while I sat there, after I left God opened my eyes to many doctrines which were wrong that the pastor was speaking.


Can’t Move Into Cousin’s House:

After my mother died, my cousin wanted me to move to the city where she and her husband lived. Also in and near that city her two adult sons lived. She said the men could be so much help to me. But God gave me a dream showing me I could not go out through my cousin’s house. Because of this dream, I did not move to that city. I ended up in a city 350 miles from my cousin.

In a very few years, her husband died.

The son who lived in that city had to be threatened by her to get him over to change light bulb. She would tell him if he didn’t come fix the light bulb she would get on ladder herself and change it. She had to walk with walker and could no longer drive car because of her physical condition.

The other son was willing to help but he lived 90 miles away.

My cousin ended up moving shortly after husband’s death and now lives in a senior apartment complex where she has hired help.


Dream: Don’t go until you see Exodus 15

In 1982, I was still on radio across USA although some stations had put me off the air because I had begun speaking judgment messages, after God showed me “The time had come that judgment must begin at the house of God.” (especially in ministry)

Shortly after I was speaking these messages the scandals involving Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart surfaced.


I had been travelling from coast to coast to the cities where I was on radio and having meetings for the radio audiences.

I had been very popular in the previous years because God had given me messages concerning “Taking Thoughts Captive” and “Following God by HIS Spirit”.


But after God told me, “The time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God”, I began speaking the judgment messages. God showed me sins in various ministries and I tried to deliver the specific message to each of the ministers that I had been shown by God but these ministers surrounded themselves by “bodyguard” types and filtered their mail so people could not get messages to them. Even though I was relatively well known in ministry circles I couldn’t get messages to them either. So I just began giving the messages on my radio broadcasts, naming the minister by name and telling of the sin before all on radio. Now the message reached the ministers. 

Hate mail toward me poured in from various church groups who followed these ministers.


During this time I was given a dream to warn me.

In the dream, there were two football teams playing. Texas (a very big, powerful team) was playing North Texas (a very minor team). There was a running back who was very skillful. He once played for Texas but he switched to North Texas.

NT was backed up to their own 5 yard line. It was terrible to see. You knew the big, powerful Texas team would crush this running back for NT.

The ball was about to be snapped and given off to this running back, and I heard: “Don’t go until you see Exodus 15”. 

I awoke.


I knew God was showing me great danger if I went out as I had been doing.

I cancelled all meetings for the remainder of the year.

I didn’t go out the next year either. I did continue radio broadcasts and continued writing exhortations for the radio audience around the USA.

That was 1982. The next time I went out was 2012. 


Dream given in 2012:

In March of 2012, God gave me a dream. A woman was singing to a group of people. She had a “little voice”, but it was a “nice” little voice. In this dream, I realized it was a way for the church to gather. I saw to start a blog. 

Pam Padgett, in our little church group, had just retired as a computer programmer from Fed Ex. I called Pam and asked her if we could set up a blog. Pam had no experience with blogs but she said she would look into setting up a blog for us.

Within 3 days, we had a blog and started writing exhortations for the church: Jesus Ministries Exhortations


The first day of the blog, end of March, 2012, 2 page views were from Germany.

None of us had any idea the messages were going to go all over the world… World Wide Web / WWW

It costs nothing at all for us to operate the blog and write as much daily as we want.


The blog enabled us to exhort the church “daily” thus fulfilling the following scriptures.

Heb. 3:13 … But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.


Heb. 10 …23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for HE is faithful that promised;) 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 

28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. 


We have published exhortations daily on the blog since March, 2012.


Indeed the blog is a little voice, but it is a nice little voice.

It costs us nothing. We can write as many exhortations per day as we choose. It goes all over the world and allows us to preach the gospel all over the world. (gospel means: God’s story … whatever God chooses to speak)

II Corinthians 11-12 ... Reading through the Bible

1 Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. 2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 

3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
 

5 For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles. 6 But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things.
 

7 Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely? 8 I robbed other churches, taking wages of them, to do you service. 9 And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself. 

10 As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia. 11 Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth.  12 But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we. 

13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

("angel of light" ... it can seem like "light", even like a revelation from God ... and Satan's ministers can seem to carry "light" ... deception will be rampant in the last days therefore Jesus warns:  " Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I (Jesus) am Christ; and shall deceive many. Mt. 24 ... These "ministers" will come saying Jesus is LORD, Jesus is the Christ ... and because they say this they will deceive many with things that are not of God and will twist scripture to remove the power of the scripture and set up a doctrine which approves man instead of the doctrine of God.)
 

16 I say again, Let no man think me a fool; if otherwise, yet as a fool receive me, that I may boast myself a little. 17 That which I speak, I speak it not after the Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of boasting. 18 Seeing that many glory after the flesh, I will glory also. 19 For ye suffer fools gladly, seeing ye yourselves are wise. 20 For ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take of you, if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face.

 21 I speak as concerning reproach, as though we had been weak. Howbeit whereinsoever any is bold, (I speak foolishly,) I am bold also.   22 Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I. 23 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. 24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. 25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; 26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; 27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. 

28 Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches. 29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not?
 

30 If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities. 31 The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not. 32 In Damascus the governor under Aretas the king kept the city of the Damascenes with a garrison, desirous to apprehend me: 33 And through a window in a basket was I let down by the wall, and escaped his hands.

Chapter 12 ...

1 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord. 


2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. 3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) 4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. 

5 Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities. 6 For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.
 

7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.  9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  

10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
 

11 I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing. 12 Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds. 13 For what is it wherein ye were inferior to other churches, except it be that I myself was not burdensome to you? forgive me this wrong.
 

14 Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours, but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children. 15 And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.
 

16 But be it so, I did not burden you: nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you with guile. 17 Did I make a gain of you by any of them whom I sent unto you? 18 I desired Titus, and with him I sent a brother. Did Titus make a gain of you? walked we not in the same spirit? walked we not in the same steps?
 

19 Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying. 

20 For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults: 

21 And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.

Growing old gracefully through God

Many people cling to the past and try to make things the way they were in the past.  Women often try to cling to dead husbands.  Men often cling to former professions and glories.

The apostle Paul said:  13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended:but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded:  Phil. 3


The life on this earth is very temporary.  The various seasons of our life are very temporary.  We are young.  Then we are old.   Both young and old have lives for us to live in Christ. 

We encounter problems and we overcome by turning to God and by doing what HE shows us or by enduring through grace if HE shows us that.  Either way we grow in God and become conformed to the image of God through those problems as we overcome through God.

I like being old.  I don't always have to fix things as I once did.  I know most things don't matter.

What does matter is living each day through Christ, seeking what HE would give me that day through prayer, Bible reading, and paying attention to that brought to my mind by the Holy Spirit.

As I write this, summer has arrived in Texas.  It is forecast to be 102 tomorrow.  I have air conditioning for which I thank God.  It is very comfortable for me inside my house and for that I thank God.  I have food and clothing.  God has given me all that I need.  And I have the Spirit of God inside me to live in me and show me God's way on this earth.  And I thank God for that.

A few days ago, I went into my garage and water dripped onto my head.  I looked up and saw I was standing under drain pipe to air conditioning system which is upstairs over the garage.  It was about 6 pm, too late to call plumber.  I put large plastic pan on floor to catch the water.

There was a time this would have greatly troubled me and I would have troubled others.

This time, I knew this really didn't matter.  I emptied the pan before going to bed and called the plumber the next morning and he came that afternoon and fixed the problem.

As you grow older you know you are preparing to leave this present earth.  Hopefully you purpose to live in peace until you are removed and you keep yourself without spot daily as Peter told us to do.  That is what really matters.  Fixing these physical houses is basically futile for Peter says they will be destroyed.  And these physical bodies are temporary.  We do not take these physical bodies we have now into heaven says Paul in I Cor. 15.  Therefore do we really want to fret ourselves over things that are going to be destroyed anyway?  Focus on that which is important.  Peter tells us what is important.

II Peter 3 ... 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.  

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
 

14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless.

And while I remain on this earth, I keep focusing on the assignment God gave me which is exhorting the church daily in ways of God.

We need to be faithful to God to the end in our assignments.

As long as you have a mate and children, those are your assignments.

Some are appointed by God to serve in the church, caring for the church.  We hold fast daily to that assignment as we are on the earth.

If you think you have no assignment from God, then focus on II Peter 3:14 as your assignment.  

Build yourself up daily in the faith by the Holy Scriptures, setting a firm foundation by faith in God and HIS Word. 

Daniel 3 ... Viewing the works of God through scripture

1 Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits:  he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon. 2 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. 3 Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up. 

4 Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages, 5 That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up:  

6 And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. 

7 Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

8 Wherefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews. 9 They spake and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever. 10 Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image: 11 And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. 12 There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.


13 Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king. 


14 Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up? 15 Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands? 

16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. 17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. 18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

19 Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated. 20 And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace. 


21 Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. 

22 Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. 

23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. 

24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. 25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

26 Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire. 


27 And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them. 

28 Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God. 

29 Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: 

because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort

30 Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.

There is such humility displayed by Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, 

17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. 18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

God is able to deliver us ... but even if God does not choose to deliver us, we will not serve the gods of this world.

In this case, God chose to deliver them.

In the case of John the Baptist, God allowed Herod to behead John.

Yet in both cases, the children of God honored God and will be rewarded forever by God.

God Speaks To Us Through Scripture


God speaks to us through scripture, through dreams, through thoughts brought directly to our minds by the Holy Spirit, through words of God carried by other people, through angels.

We have many examples in the Bible of the word of God being sent by God to us through these sources.

Jesus said: Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Mt. 4:4


We must learn to be sensitive to “every Word” from God regardless of how that Word comes to us. The Word of God is the Word of God. It doesn’t matter what the delivery vehicle is.

If we are to build our house on the Word of God, we must hear that Word from God no matter which source God chooses to use to deliver that word to us.


Scripture:

Jesus said … Mt. 7… 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of MINE, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 

26 And every one that heareth these sayings of MINE, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.


Let’s start with the following instruction of Jesus and see if we are really doing this … or do we need to learn to do this instruction, starting immediately.


Mt. 6 … Jesus says … 

24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. 

Ye cannot serve God and mammon. 

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 

28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow:

for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. 

Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.


Jesus says we cannot serve both God and riches. We cannot seek worldly possessions and God. We will love the one and hate the other.


When we are born again, we die to the old sins, to the old flesh, and are resurrected a new creature, made in the image of Christ. We grow into that image day by day as we read the Bible and chose the way of God over the former way of our flesh. 

This is the first “death” … The “old man” we once were is now dead. Though we have to enter in to the life as the new creation which no longer has the goals of the old man who has died with Christ.


Romans 6 … How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 

4 Therefore we are buried with HIM by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of HIS death, we shall be also in the likeness of HIS resurrection: 

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with HIM, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin. 

8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with HIM:

9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over HIM. 10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. 

11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

When we are born again, given the Spirit of God to dwell in us, we no longer find ourselves bound to our own flesh. We now have power through God to live another way.

Romans 8 … 11 But if the Spirit of HIM that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, HE that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken (make alive) your mortal bodies by HIS Spirit that dwelleth in you.

12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.


Jesus said: 

Take no thought for the morrow … Mt. 6:34


This will sound like foolishness to the world. And even some who are the church will fail to enter into this “way of life.” We “labor” to enter into HIS rest. And this is a great rest. How do we do this?


The first thing is to believe … to believe what is written in the Bible … to really believe Jesus is speaking this to us …

We need to keep this scripture before us day and night, thinking on it day and night until we can actually believe this scripture and do it.

If we believe, we will do what HE says …


How can I not think of tomorrow?

Each time thoughts of something of “tomorrow” comes to me I need to STOP and pray, taking that subject to God in prayer in an appropriate way.


We need to learn to live in today. Taking care of everything we see to do at the present moment.


You will be surprised at how much “rest” you enter into when you learn to take care of tomorrow with prayer and to deal with today by action, but also with prayer before the action, for there are many things we think we need to do that are unimportant and can even be harmful to us.


Prayer is the key … before action.

Almost each morning, before I get out of bed, I find I am asking God to show me what I need to do this day.


Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge HIM,

and HE shall direct thy paths.


To build our life on the Word of God, we are going to start daily seeking the will of God for us today.

We are going to refuse to think about tomorrow other than to pray about concerns over tomorrow … We must learn to pray over tomorrow each time something of tomorrow comes to mind. When we do this a very heavy burden will lift from our shoulders.


We begin today by seeking that which is right in the sight of God … We take every plan for today to God in prayer, seeking what is right in the sight of God. We learn to live that way daily, praying, seeking what is right in the sight of God.


We see the following come to pass in our lives when we do this:

Mt. 6:33 … Jesus says … But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and HIS righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.


It is amazing. I look about me and “things” are everywhere around me. How did all these things get here? I don’t recall seeking things. But I do know I tried to think on the Word of God and find out what God wanted me to do concerning the various problems that arose. And I tried to beware of that which God spoke to me and when I heard something I tried to stop and consider that Word and do it in an appropriate way, thinking of what God was saying to me, doing things HIS way rather than by my plans. Neither was I considering what other humans thought but rather I tried to keep my focus on what God wanted, what God said either by scripture or by the Holy Spirit or by dreams or by words carried by the Holy Spirit or by angels.


This is a lifetime work …

And it certainly works for us when we actually do this.



Another critical scripture:

James 1:5 … 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.


When being tempted, James said it is especially important to ask God for HIS wisdom in the midst of the temptation.

James says “and it shall be given him” … God will show you how to escape the temptation.

You might try of your own thinking to escape and your own ideas might fail.

God’s idea will not fail.

When you pray for wisdom, God will give you HIS wisdom on the issue and God’s idea will not fail if you do that in faith.



Also there can be so much pride when we do something. But if we ask God for HIS wisdom before we do that thing, and we hear from God, how can we have pride in ourselves when it was God who told us what to do? It is a great way to fight pride of our flesh.


And each of us should know by now that some ideas that seem good to us and even seem “wise” to us end up being the wrong way for us to go.


Proverbs 16:25 … There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.


Certainly there are many more scriptures we could discuss here. I certainly believe all scripture is inspired by God and we who handle that scripture in a correct way by making appropriate adjustment to our life by faith and by the instruction of the Holy Spirit are greatly blessed in this life and in the next life.


Isaiah 54:17 A promise from God to HIS people …

17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.

This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of ME, saith the Lord.


As a new Christian, in 1975, I saw Isaiah 54:17 and I believed it and it caused me to make a very strategic decision.

At that time, I owned a small business in Dallas. God has shown me to get out of debt and to stay out of debt. I had gotten out of debt. Then a man filed a law suit against me. I hired an attorney to represent me. The legal fees were taking most of my profit from the business and I knew at the rate I was going I would end up back in debt.

In Isaiah 54:17 it says “no weapon that is formed against me will prosper.” I am now born again, a servant of the Lord. So the promise from God in the Bible is this lawsuit against me (a weapon) will not prosper. 

Based on that, I decided to dismiss my lawyer and to go to court without any human legal counsel.

I told my lawyer.

Gordon was shocked and surprised and replied: “Joan … you can’t do this. You don’t realize how evil these courts are … We’re (the law firm) willing to work with you. It will only cost about $10,000 more to try this case.”

Now I am shocked!

“$10,000 more … Gordon STOP … don’t do another thing … 

I dismissed the attorney …


A week later, Gordon came back into my shop. He said, “We have decided to try your case without any further charge to you …”

What is going on here? One week it is going to cost me $10,000 more and now the legal service is going to be free?

So I asked God what HE wanted me to do.

I was reminded by the Holy Spirit of the following scripture to show me what to do …

Genesis 14 … And the king of Sodom went out to meet him (Abram) after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king's dale. 

18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine:and he was the priest of the most high God. 

19 And he blessed him (Abram), and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he (Abram) gave him tithes of all. 

21 And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself. 

22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the Lord, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth, 23 That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:

I knew God was telling me: Don’t take that free legal service.

And also at that time, and now too, I want all my blessings to come from God and not from anyone else nor from anywhere else.

This was a very big decision in my life.


But I was really terrified as I went forward. God gave me several other scriptures at that time. I recorded all scripture on both sides of a cassette tape. When I went to bed I started the tape. I would fall asleep hearing those scriptures I had recorded. Each time I awoke in the night, I would turn the tape over and fall asleep again hearing those recorded scriptures.


Several weeks past. The trial date approached. Six days before we were to go to trial, the man dropped all charges. I was free. And just as it says in Isaiah, No weapon that was formed against me would prosper.

A few days later, my former lawyer came into my shop. He said they had discussed my case for several days after those charges were dropped by the man suing me. Gordon said, “We believe that what you said would happen, happened.”


I wasn’t trying to be a witness to Gordon nor to anyone else. I was just trying to do things God’s way. But when you do things God’s way you end up as a witness to God even when you aren’t trying to be a witness to God … you are a witness.


II Timothy 3 … All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
