1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

When I began making plans for the church meeting in Colorado Springs on July 22-26, I sent notice to our little church group and began to receive enthusiastic responses from people about coming to these meetings.

Very shortly after this, the same people began to tell me the reasons they could not come to this meeting.

I knew these people were not established in these decisions by God.  Most reasons had to do with physical problems.  It was then 6 months before the meetings.  They had no way of knowing what they would be like in six months.

Then devils strongly surfaced to divide Pam Padgett and I.  I was certain devils were behind our "differences" and we both settled ourselves, coming into the one spirit of God and unity.

I've never before seen devils working this hard in multiple people to stop these meetings.

As of today, unity has come with at least one person who was temporarily torn away.

What I heard today from God is, "Try the spirit ..."  for many false prophets have gone out into the world.  These "prophets" are coming to tell these people they cannot travel or attend because of some imaginary event 6 months from "now" ... and they represent they are "God" speaking.

They twist what they bring causing the people to think it is God telling them what will happen in the future ... to cause them not to be able to attend the church gathering in late July.

Mark 4

The sower soweth the word.

15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

Don't fall into this.  Devils want you to go opposite from the will of God and they will try to turn you away from something you were excited about.  Devils represent themselves as "god" speaking and representing themselves as God to us.  We sometimes rush into their direction.  But they are twisted and bring fears of what will happen to you if you do this.  

2 Thessalonians 2:4  Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

If you look closely, you will see a "twisting" of the future for they are false prophets and they take partial truths and twist things and cause you to back down from what you were excited about.

Today I thought about relationships and how mine have changed. I listen to those around me speaking about their best friend. When something sad or wonderful happens, they call their best friend.
I turn to God in all things. My favorite times are when I am by myself because I am with Him. I have many people around me that I love. I can be there for them but they can't fully be there for me. I know that my help comes from God. It reminds me of a line in a hymn, "The things on earth seem strangely dim". 
 
I have a granddaughter that told me this week that she does not "fit in' with the other girls in her high school. She says they are "judgy" and "gossipy". She is troubled by this talk. She recently changed schools and misses seeing her old friends who seemed positive and content, She often wants to go to church with me. 
 
I never "fit in" because God wanted me to turn to Him. I turned to Him because I had no real human companionship. This may be happening with my granddaughter now, I pray for God to reveal Himself to her. She is struggling and I feel this with her. I offer kind encouragement, but I know I am not what she needs. She needs a relationship with God. I have asked God to help her with this and to show me what I may need to do.

(JB ... I never "fit in" either.  Pam Padgett wanted to fit in with her classmates and she didn't "fit in" either and didn't know what to do to be one of the group.  I recall Barbara Preston having same feelings.

We are "peculiar people" says the apostle Peter:

I Peter 2

9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of HIM who hath called you out of darkness into HIS marvellous light:

10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Ephesians 4:25  Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. 
 
At first this instruction seems something that, of course, we would do. We wouldn't intentionally speak something that is a lie to someone.

But considering speaking truth shown to us by the Holy Spirit when that truth is something that person will likely not want to hear, or is something that would make us look bad, shows how important this instruction is.  

Instead of trying to protect ourselves by staying quiet, speaking truth gives others the opportunity to see a problem and deal with it.   Caring for that person.  It also frees us of the blood of that person. 

John 15:12  Jesus says ... This is My commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

(JB ... We "lay down our lives" every time we speak truth of God from Holy Spirit or by Bible.  For by speaking "truth" we risk our reputation with that person.)

Many years ago my husband and I were on a bowling league. After awhile I saw that it was negatively affecting me. I would be upset if I didn’t do well and envious if he did better. It was to a point I knew I couldn’t continue this way. I prayed about it, asking God for help, and telling Him that I would be willing to quit the league if that’s what was necessary.
 
It turned out that God made a complete change in me. The next time we bowled on the league, I was so different. I didn’t care about how well I did and I wasn’t envious. I just enjoyed the game with no negative affects.

Paul told us what to do when we gather as the church and this is what we will try to do:

I Corinthians 14:26  How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm (prayer), hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

Matthew 18:20  (Jesus says:)  For where two or three are gathered together in MY name, there am I in the midst of them.

(Pam & I believe Matthew 18:20.  Do you? If you believe this, what should you expect?  I have prayed that God have those at this meeting that HE wants here.  Pam and I make 2.  So the Spirit of Jesus will be with us doing as God wills. Jesus heals people.  Jesus saves people.  Jesus brings words to show people the way to go. People learn the working of the Holy Spirit of God to teach people the things of God and to remind them of things Jesus said to us in the Bible.  The Holy Spirit is the comforter and the Spirit of Truth.  I'm so often amazed at those things Jesus shows me and how it helps me to know what to do on this earth.)

When Jesus is in the midst of us, all things are possible!  Jesus is the truth and the answer to everything!

Abraham heard a word from God.  Abraham believed it was God speaking to him.  Then Abraham did what that Word from God said to do.

As a newly born again Christian in 1975, I attended 3 churches in the early years:  Believers Chapel, a church pastored by professors from Dallas Theological Seminary, who spoke against "tongues" of the Bible.  

When I saw what Paul said about "tongues" in I Corinthians 14:39, Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues, I left that church, "Believers Chapel" ... the pastor not only didn't believe what Paul wrote in the Bible, he taught that tongues were of the devil.

Then I followed a woman from our prayer group to a church in Dallas called "Beverly Hills Baptist."  I can't recall why I left that church group.  My friend and her husband changed from that church to another church and I probably followed them.

By this time, God had taught me many things directly from the Bible.

The third church I attended after I was born again, was a church called, "Word of Faith," Robert Tilton, pastor. 

I was at Word of Faith from approximately 1977 to 1982, when God brought me out by a dream.  In this dream, a man was speaking to a room filled with people.  I went in and sat down and began listening to this speaker.  A second man rushed in and said, "STOP ... Wait...Can't you see ... it's too late ... It's already begun."  (The first man resumed speaking.)

No one seemed interested in what had already begun ... but I was! 

I looked out the windows and saw a tall pole with a yellow-civil-defense warning speaker on top of this pole.

I saw a gas coming out of the speaker that was supposed to warn us.

The gas was white and it was coming directly toward us who were sitting in that room.

And I knew the gas was poison and it would kill us!

I looked at the man who was sitting next to me.  He had a very attentive look on his face as he listened to the first man who had been speaking.  This man had a very big smile on his face.

Then I saw it!  This man was a corpse.  He was dead.

I looked around the room and all the other people were also corpses, dead ... though they looked alive.

And as I sat there among them, I began to feel a little drowsy ... I knew as I sat there with them the gas coming from the speaker was killing me too.

On a Wednesday night, Robert Tilton was speaking to the congregation at Word of Faith.  I went in and sat down.  Then I glanced at the man who was sitting next to me.  I was terribly shocked!

This man was the dead man in my dream.

I looked around the room and the people seemed to be the people in the room where the gas from the speaker had killed all the people.

I got up immediately and went to the ladies room at Word of Faith and began praying:  "God", I said, "I think YOU are showing me to leave this church.  I'm going to get into my car and drive away.  But if YOU want me to come back, I will."  God didn't want me to come back.  God began showing me errors in doctrine spoken by Robert Tilton. 

That was in 1982.  In about 10 years there was a huge scandal at Word of Faith.  (You can read about it if you care to do so. See Wikipedia: Robert Tilton)

The Bible teacher at Word of Faith told me, "You're very different from people at this church. We talk about faith.  But you live faith."

I was shocked!  I had no idea I was different from the others.

Then God showed me the difference.  God taught me to do the scriptures called to my attention by the Holy Spirit.  They were hunting a scripture to justify what they wanted and claiming that scripture as their "right" to get that which they wanted.

Bob taught us this:  If you want a red pickup, find a picture of one and put it on your refrigerator where you will see it often.  Eventually you will figure out how to get a red pickup."

Bob was asking people to send him their prayer requests.  Letters came to the church at Farmer's Branch, Texas. They were forwarded unopened to a bank in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where cashiers were assigned to open the envelopes, throw the "prayer requests" into the garbage, and deposit any money sent along with the prayer requests.  ABC news investigated on Prime Time Live.  In a single year, over 80-million dollars came in from prayer request solicitations made by Bob Tilton.

Bob said he laid his hands on unopened letters and prayed over them.

Bob's house was destroyed at this time. I know it was because he "killed a prophet."  

He invited a prophet from Word of Faith to be a guest on his TV show.  She called me after the show and was crying.  Just before they went on the air, Bob said to her, "Just one thing Ava ... don't say anything about being a prophet because it's not popular."

(I was furious!  And I knew Bob killed a prophet by keeping her from freely speaking.)

God showed me a scripture in Matthew 23  (Jesus said)... Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:

35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

I told Robert Tilton that because he did this to Ava, his own house would be left to him desolate.

A woman from Tilton's office said Bob and Marte and others from office staff heard the tape I sent and they began cutting the tape into small pieces and they danced around the waste basket and claimed scripture.

I asked if they heard the message before they destroyed the tape.  She said, "Yes ... they heard it."

I said:  "That's all that matters.  They will never escape the message."

In the subsequent years, ABC aired the TV expose where Tilton had the prayer requests forwarded to his bank in Oklahoma.  (I had been gone from Tilton's church for about 10 years at that time.)

The fruits:  Bob and his first wife divorced.  He married a second wife, adultery. (Mt. 5:32/Mk. 10:11-12)  She was a lawyer & preacher.  She sued Tilton and they divorced.  He married third wife.

A man changed Tilton with extortion.

Tilton moved from Texas.  He tried to start another TV show.  He finally sold that and bought a hotel in Culver City, California.

The church building in Farmers Branch, Texas, was torn down and a youth hockey building was built on that location where the church building had been.

There is no evidence today that any church ever existed at that location.

I Timothy 5:24  Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.

2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.

They say unto him, The son of David.

 43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,
44 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?

 46 And no man was able to answer Him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask Him any more questions.
