πŸ’₯ Sharing with the church daily

(Listed in alphabetical order:)

Some churches teach that there are no longer any apostles or prophets.

This is amazing since after Jesus was crucified and arose and taken into heaven, HE established the New Testament Church from heaven.  And we read about this in the New Testament Bible.

Ephesians 4

8 Wherefore HE (Jesus) saith, When HE ascended up on high, HE led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

9 (Now that HE ascended, what is it but that HE also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10 HE that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that HE might fill all things.)

(From heaven Jesus set up the New Testament churches and gave ministers to the church.)

11 And HE gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

(some means:  multiple)

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Last night I was reading I Corinthians 14 where Paul told us what to do when we come together as the church.

I noticed that the apostle Paul gave specific instructions as to what they were to do concerning the prophets speaking in the gathering of the church.  (Obviously by this we understand that there are prophets in the NT church today.)

Paul says:

I Corinthians 14   29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge. 30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace. 31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted. 32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

1Timothy 6:6  But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

PROVERBS 24:19

FRET NOT THYSELF BECAUSE OF EVIL MEN, NEITHER BE THOU ENVIOUS AT THE
WICKED;

(JB...  Such an important way for us to live today!)

fret not:  don't worry about; don't be concerned about ... Instead do this:  Phil. 4:6  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

"Thou art worthy" is a thought that was brought to my attention several times recently.

Revelation 4:11   Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created.

Luke 6:45   A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Proverbs 4:23   Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

The Word from God is great treasure.  It is such a delight to think on what God has said to us.  These are things we want in our hearts.

And as we meditate in each Word given to us by the Holy Spirit and do that Word, it becomes part of us, going deep into our hearts.  We are changed by that Word.

Sayings and words of this world and of devils also come to us.  But God is faithful to help us, giving us HIS truth in the matter when we turn to HIM concerning the evil we have heard, that the evil may be uprooted as we believe and focus on what God says, allowing truth from God to reign in our hearts.

John 1:1-4  In the beginning was the Word (Jesus) and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.

2 Peter 13-14  Nevertheless we according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

Once I had a medical procedure coming up and I had several concerns or fears about it. Somewhere in this time frame I was given these words from God: I’ll be there for you. I do thee good because you ask ME to.

Shortly after this I happened to come across this scripture.

Deut. 30:5  And the Lord thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and He will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.

I laid out all my concerns to God and whatever requests I had, and He did help me through and took care of each concern, so that things worked out in a good way.

I was reminded of this scripture. The devil tries to make you think that you are going through trial alone, But that is not true because we can always pray to God for help. We resist steadfast in that which God shows us.

1 Peter 5:8-10  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world

10 But the God of all grace, WHO hath called us unto HIS eternal glory by Christ Jesus (The Word), after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
