πŸ’₯ Be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind to Bible. (Romans 12:2)

This world has many clever sayings that are not true.

The world says:  "All will die."

But the Bible says:  "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep (die), but we shall all be changed,

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."
(I Thess. 4:51-52)

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

The people of this world usually try to lay up as much money and treasure as possible for themselves.

Paul says:  But my God shall supply all your need according to HIS riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
(Phil. 4:19)

Jesus says: Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:  (Mt 6:19-20)

(We lay up treasure in heaven each time we do a verse of scripture.)

Mt. 6:31-33   (Jesus says)

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and HIS righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

As we follow scripture, God puts us into exactly the right place and all our needs are met by God.

God knows future.

God knows how to get us into the exact right place at the right time so we can prosper and fulfill HIS will for us on this earth.

As we follow scripture, doing the will of God, HE will get us in that right place.

Joshua 1:8  This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Podcast: Churches and individuals mistreat the prophets sent to them

Jesus says:

Matthew 23

33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:

35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see ME henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Hymn: Up from the grave HE arose

(Click forward arrow > to play music:)

1.   Low in the grave He lay —
Jesus my Savior!
Waiting the coming day —

Jesus my Lord!

Chorus:

Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes.
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,

And He lives forever in His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!

2.   Vainly they watch His tomb
Jesus, my Savior!
Vainly they seal the dead—

Jesus my Lord!

3.  Death cannot keep his prey—
Jesus, my Savior!
He tore the bars away—

Jesus my Lord!

Scriptures pertaining to this hymn:

Matthew 27:59  And when Joseph had taken the body (of Jesus), he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

Matthew 27:62-66  Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate, Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while He was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.  Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest His disciples come by night, and steal Him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.

Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.

So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.

***

Matthew 28:1-4  In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

(These women also prepared and brought to the tomb fine smelling spices, for when the body decays there is a stink and they wanted to cover up that odor.  They didn't know there would be no decaying body where Jesus was concerned for God would not "suffer" Jesus' body to see corruption as other flesh saw corruption.  Jesus' body and soul were removed by God from the tomb.)

And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

His (the angel's) countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.

***

Luke 24:1-7  Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.

And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them,

Why seek ye the living among the dead?
He is not here, but is risen:

remember how HE spake unto you when HE was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

***

Acts 13:35-37   Wherefore he (David) saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer Thine Holy One to see corruption.
For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
But HE, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.

When they entered the tomb of Jesus, His body was gone as well as His Spirit.  God did not allow Jesus' body to decay the way of normal flesh.

πŸ’₯ And the Spirit entered into me when HE spake unto me. (Ezekiel 2:2)

As it was with Ezekiel, so is it with each person who is born again today!

Ezekiel 2:1-2   And HE said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.

2 And the spirit entered into me when HE spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard HIM that spake unto me.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

This is what it is to be born again:  God speaks to us and we are changed and given God's heart and God's spirit.  We are changed immediately for now we have a new heart and a new spirit!

There's nothing like it.

It is the greatest thing that can happen to us ever!

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

Now we can follow God and do the works of God.

I Corinthians 2:14   But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Countless numbers of people attend various churches without being born again.

They try to do works of God but they cannot do works of God because they have not been born again by the Spirit of God and they end up being like the scribes and Pharisees who tried to learn God by their own minds but killed Jesus, The Word, in their religious thinking.

Thus Jesus says:

John 3:3  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

5 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

Romans 9

6 ... For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

9 For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.

(God revealed HIMSELF to us and at that time we were born again, given a new heart and new spirit, made by God to be children of God, selected by God for salvation, not by our will but by HIS own will.)

10 And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;

11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of HIM that calleth;)

12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.

13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.

15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew MY power in thee, and that MY name might be declared throughout all the earth.

18 Therefore hath HE mercy on whom HE will have mercy, and whom HE will HE hardeneth.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

God chooses us to be saved.  Therefore salvation is of God and not of ourselves and not of our own will but of God's will.

Ephesians 1

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:

2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

4 According as HE hath chosen us in HIM before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before HIS in love:

5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of HIS will,

6 To the praise of the glory of HIS grace, wherein HE hath made us accepted in the beloved.

7 In whom we have redemption through HIS blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of HIS grace;

8 Wherein HE hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

9 Having made known unto us the mystery of HIS will, according to HIS good pleasure which HE hath purposed in HIMSELF:

10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times HE might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in HIS:

11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of HIM who worketh all things after the counsel of HIS own will:

12 That we should be to the praise of HIS glory, who first trusted in Christ.

13 In WHOM ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in WHOM also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

John 1

32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon HIM.

33 And I knew HIM not: but HE that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon WHOM thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on HIM, the same is HE which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

Matthew 3:11  (John the Baptist says)  I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but HE that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: HE shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

God speaks to us as individuals, giving us THE WORD which causes us to be born again, giving us a new heart and a new spirit, changing us instantly.

I was not seeking God but God said to me:  "Joan ... you know all these mistakes you've been making all these years?  Those weren't mistakes.  Those were sins!"  With that word, I was changed instantly, given a new heart of God and the Holy Spirit.  Now I was interested in things of God and I wanted to be with people of God and I wanted to read the Bible!

Romans 9

23 And that HE might make known the riches of HIS glory on the vessels of mercy, which HE had afore prepared unto glory,

24 Even us, whom HE hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

25 As HE saith also in Osee, I will call them MY people, which were not MY people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.

26 And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not MY people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

Pam Padgett was raised in the Catholic church.  When she was 14-years-old one of her classmates died in a motorcycle accident.  Up to that time, Pam had never considered anyone her age could die.  God spoke a word to Pam and opened this understanding to her:  "If I died now I would go to hell.  I can't be saved through the Catholic church.  My only hope is God."  And she cried out to God:  "If there is any way to do so, please save me."

After that, she realized there was something "of God" in her.  Several years later she saw the following scripture and she realized by that scripture what it was of God that was "in her."

I Corinthians 3:16  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

Romans 10:20  But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought ME not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after ME.

God reveals THE WORD to us as individuals by HIS own will.  By that Word from God we are recreated by The Word, given a new heart and a new spirit of God, made into a new creature immediately ... being born again.

Ezekiel 36

24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27 And I will put MY spirit within you, and cause you to walk in MY statutes, and ye shall keep MY judgments, and do them.

II Corinthians 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

I Peter 1:23  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

πŸ’₯ At the end of this world, everything we can see with our natural eye will be destroyed by God.

Luke 21

5 And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, HE (Jesus) said,

6 As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

Jesus is warning us:  Don't put your trust in that which you can see with your natural eyes for it will all be destroyed by God at the end of this present world.

We who are born again of the Spirit of God will be removed from this present earth before this earth is destroyed.

In the blink of an eye, we will be changed to our new spiritual bodies and we will be taken into the air where we will meet Jesus and all those who have been raised by God.  We will have spiritual bodies. And we will be taken to live in that new heaven and new earth which God creates for us.

I Thessalonians 4

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep (dead), that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with HIM.

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (go before) them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

We will be in our new spiritual bodies when we are taken up into the clouds to meet Jesus.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

Before we rise from this earth we will be changed into our new spiritual bodies:

I Corinthians 15

48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep (die), but we shall all be changed,

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

(Blink!  That is how fast we will be changed from these current physical bodies into our new spiritual bodies.  We will then be "spirit" and not flesh as we are now.)

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

After we rise to meet Jesus in the air, we will be taken to the new heaven and new earth which God has prepared for the righteous who belong to HIM.

Revelation 21

1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and HE will dwell with them, and they shall be HIS people, and God HIMSELF shall be with them, and be their God.

4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5 And HE that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

After we have been raised from this current earth and taken to the new heaven and new earth, God will destroy this current heaven and earth.

2 Peter 3

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13 Nevertheless we, according to HIS promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless.

Podcast: Destruction from God sent to the city of Jerusalem

Ezekiel 9

1 HE cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.

2 And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.

3 And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And HE called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side;

4  And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

5 And to the others HE said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:

6 Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at MY sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.

7 And HE said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.

8  And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt THOU destroy all the residue of Israel in THY pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?

9 Then said HE unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not.

10 And as for ME also, MINE eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head.

11 And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as THOU hast commanded me.

(Cause the church to know her abominations.)

Hymn: Trust & Obey

(Click forward arrow > to play music:)

1.  When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way;

While we do His good will,
He abides in us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Chorus:

Trust and obey,
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,

But to trust and obey.

2.  Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
But His WORD quickly drives it away;

Not a doubt or a fear,
Not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3.  Not a burden we bear,
Not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;

Not a grief or a loss,
Not a frown or a cross,
But is blest if we trust and obey.

4.  But we never can prove
The delights of His love,
Until all on the altar we lay;

For the favor He shows,
And the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

5.  Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;

What He says we will do;
Where He sends, we will go,
Never fear, only trust and obey.

Scriptures pertaining to this hymn:

Psalm 111:10    The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do HIS commandments: HIS praise endureth for ever.

The fear of the Lord is a deep respect for God and The Word.

When we "fear" God, we are basically afraid to go in a way opposite to God's Word for we have an inner understanding that God knows what is best and to violate what HE says is to go in a way of self destruction.

Therefore our trust is based on the awe we have for God.

And we obey God, doing what HE says to us by HIS Spirit.

***

In December, 2018, at the age of 81, I fell at my house.

As the ambulance people were removing me and we reached the front door, I heard the following word in the form of a thought that came to my mind:  "You'll never see this house again."

I believed that thought was from God.

Therefore I believed there would be another way for me to go if I survived the accident.

I put my house up for sale even as I was awaiting surgery.

A church person said to me, "I don't see how you can do that."  (I don't think she understood faith in God.)

I explained to her that when you believe you have heard from God and there is a way to go, you simply obey ... no hesitation.

I never looked back and I never saw that house again.

I did not know where I would go when I put the house up for sale but I knew God would work it out for me and reveal it to me and God did within a few weeks.  A woman in our little church group took me (and my cat) into her house to live in Colorado.  She is a very godly woman and prays over everything!  It is a great joy for me to live in a house with such a person.

My life was made better after my accident, not worse.

God had a plan for me and I knew HIS plan was all that mattered.

πŸ’₯ Live continually in peace and joy through God and by prayer.

The problem strikes!

We turn to God immediately asking God to help us.

That which God brings restores both peace and joy!

And after God shows us what to do, we do that thing we are shown by God, and we rest in the understanding that God showed us what to do and we did what God showed us to do.  This becomes an anchor for our soul.

And our righteousness is of God when we do that which God shows us to do.

But how can we know which ideas are from God?

* Matthew 11:30  Jesus says:  For MY yoke is easy, and MY burden is light.

*  James 3:17   But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Podcast: Ezekiel the prophet of God

Ezekiel 2

And HE (God) said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.

2 And the spirit entered into me when HE spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard HIM that spake unto me.

3 And HE said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against ME: they and their fathers have transgressed against ME, even unto this very day.

4 For they are impudent children and stiffhearted.  I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD.

5 And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.

6 And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

7 And thou shalt speak MY words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.

And after you speak, they mock you for they think they know everything, or they try to completely ignore you with silence, or they insult you with their words, or they throw stones at you, and in all ways they show they hate and despise you for the word you carry to them.

But you carry that word anyway, though you suffer greatly by their response.  You carry all that word because that is your assignment given by God to you.  You are very careful to let nothing of God's word given to you slip away from the message you deliver to them.  For that is your assignment from God.

You deliver that Word as soon as God gives it to you without delay regardless of your own condition.  You rise up from your sick bed, if need be, to deliver that message whether it is day or night, heat or cold.  That message given by God is all that matters to you.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

Ezekiel 2

8 But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee.

9 And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein;

10 And HE spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

And you know the horror awaiting them ahead.  But they are foolish, unknowing, so they do nothing to correct their way.

Once God gave me a dream:  A stagecoach pulled by 4 wild horses was racing toward a cliff to complete destruction.  A silly, smiling woman with long curls, was looking out the window totally unaware of her impending doom.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

This is the work of a prophet of God.

Ezekiel 3

14 So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.

In the book of Ezekiel we will see what happens to him.

Hymn: Standing on the promises

(Click forward arrow > to play music:)

1.  Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring,
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,

Standing on the promises of God.

Chorus:

Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of
Christ my Savior;
Standing, standing,

I’m standing on the promises of God.

2.   Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,

Standing on the promises of God.

3.  Standing on the promises I now can see
Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;
Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,

Standing on the promises of God.

4.  Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,

Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
Standing on the promises of God.

5.  Standing on the promises I shall not fall,
List’ning every moment to the Spirit’s call.
Resting in my Savior as my All in all,

Standing on the promises of God.

The following scripture pertains to this hymn:

Joshua 1:5   I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Matthew 28:20   lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.

***

v. 2   By the living Word of God I shall prevail,

The living word is that word that comes down to us from heaven.  It is put into our mind by God by HIS Spirit, by the Spirit of Jesus.  By this "living word" we know what to do.

John 6   Jesus says:

32-33   My Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.  For the bread of God is HE which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

48-51   I (The Word) am that bread of life.  Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.  I am the living bread which came down from heaven:

Jesus, The Word, is the Word that comes down from heaven.  The living word of God is the word spoken to us by the Spirit of God.  By His Spirit, God will bring to our mind ideas that show us what to do, or scriptures which show us what to do.  And when it is that Word of God, it will never fail.  We can put our trust in what we have heard from God by His Spirit.

The living word of God is just exactly that, living, because it pertains to the exact subject we are dealing with at that moment in time.

We
can hunt for a scripture and fail. Or we can try to figure out what to do and fail.

But we will not fail when it is the Holy Spirit bringing the concept or a scripture to our mind to guide us in the matter at hand.

***

Here are promises from Jesus concerning the work the Holy Spirit will do for us.

John 14:26    But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 16:13    Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself (of His own thinking); but whatsoever He shall hear (from God), that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.

4 things the Holy Spirit does for the believer:

- HE teaches us all things. (secular and spiritual)
- HE reminds us of all Jesus has said to us through scripture, dreams, concepts
- HE guides us into all truth.  (often one thing at a time ... you do the first thing ... then a second idea comes and you do that ... on until the matter is resolved)
- HE shows us things to come.  (often by dreams ... sometimes by just knowing)

***

v. 3   Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,

We are freed every time we have a word from God brought to our mind by His Spirit, and when we believe and act on that word in the midst of the trial or temptation.

***

v. 4   Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,

God speaks to each of His children by His Spirit which lives inside each child.  The Holy Spirit brings thoughts from God to our minds to show us the way of God and the will of God as we live on this earth.

We overcome the trials and temptations of this present earth as we hear from the Holy Spirit daily, and take appropriate action to the instruction given by the Spirit.

You do have to be careful.  For the devil will try to imitate God and bring thoughts to your mind which are opposite to the way God wants you to go.  And often our own fleshly preferences will bring thoughts to us which seem good to us, but are opposite to the way God wants us to go.

James 3:14-16   ... But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.  This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.  For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

So if that is the case, you must repent and pray for God to correct your own heart.  For you will not likely to be able to hear correctly until you are corrected.

Otherwise:  Prove all things by prayer and Bible.  If you will ask God to confirm the way to go and to make it clear to you which thought is HIS, and if you will take time before you act, it will be made clear to you which thought is from God.  Also in the Bible we have a scripture which tells us how to recognize the wisdom that is from God.

James 3:17   But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

***

v. 5   List’ning every moment to the Spirit’s call.
Resting in my Savior as my All in all,

Once we have established that a thought is from God, we must focus on that thought and rest in that word that we have heard from God concerning the matter at hand after doing that instruction in an appropriate way.  Often, we have to keep that word before us day and night to be strong enough to continue in that direction.

Joshua 1:8-9   This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Have not I commanded thee?

(When God brings a word to our mind by HIS Spirit or when a scripture is made to stand out to us, that is God "commanding" us and we think on that word, taking action when needed, according to that word.)

Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

πŸ’₯ We put our trust in God each time we pray.

When a problem strikes, what do you do?

What we should do is this:  Pray

Each time we pray, we show that we put our trust in God.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

In 2021, all of a sudden one day, I was bombarded with destructive thoughts concerning what "might" happen to me.

I cried out:  "God ... help me!"

Immediately the Holy Spirit brought this to my mind:  "God will supply all your needs."

"That's right!"  I shouted.

And immediately all the weight caused by the destructive thoughts lifted and joy and peace returned to me.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

God knows the future.

Your pastor does not ... your mate does not ... your best friend does not ... but God does.

God will work out the best plan for us to take for the days ahead.

"Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil."  (Jesus taught us to pray.  Luke 11:4)

Podcast: Jeremiah the prophet of God

Jeremiah the prophet lived during the time of kings Josiah, Jehoiakim, and Zedekiah ... unto the carrying away of the children of Judah unto captivity in Babylon.

Jeremiah 25:11 And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.

Jeremiah saw some very terrible things happen to the nation of Judah.

Jeremiah was ordained as a prophet of God and carried warnings to the people of God both before and after the captivity of Judah.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

God calls Jeremiah and ordains Jeremiah as a prophet to the children of God.

Jeremiah 1

4 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

6 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.

7 But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.

9 Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

10 See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

So often that which is learned at church blocks individuals from receiving the word of God.

Traditions of men renders the Word of God void.  And churches often teach "tradition of men".

So the prophet of God has to tear down the building they have built in their minds by their traditions before that prophet can build the true house.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

Jeremiah 1

14 Then the LORD said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.

(God is showing Jeremiah the coming of the king of Babylon and how Judah will be taken into captivity.  This does not apply to today's church.  In 1975, I heard a woman in our prayer group use this scripture as if Russia would attack USA.  But this scripture does not pertain to today's church.  Some Old Testament scripture do apply to today church.)

15 For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the LORD; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah.

(See how this word applied to Jerusalem and Judah at the specific time Jeremiah received this word from God and Jeremiah had to warn the people then, at that time, of the destruction that was coming upon them which was caused by their own disobedience to God.)

16 And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.

17 Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

Churches today often live in disobedience to God as they remove NT scripture and set up doctrines opposite to the doctrine of Christ and thereby allow various sins to take place in their church groups.  Because of this, the wrath of God will come upon the world and the apostate church groups at the end of this world by the appointed great tribulation.

It will be similar to that captivity where the people of Judah were taken into Babylon and kept for 70 years.

But the difference is this:  When Jesus returns and raises the dead in Christ and the elect of God, the judgment upon the world and the apostate churches will be forever.

II Peter 3

So the second coming of Jesus brings the end of this present world.  It is over!

Then comes the judgment seat of Christ:

II Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

As we read the books of the Old Testament, we must discern between those scriptures which apply to the people of the Old Testament and scriptures which apply to the NT testament church today.

Jeremiah 10

2-3  Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.  For the customs of the people are vain:

5 ... Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

8 But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities.

10 But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.

11 Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.

12 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.

13 When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.

Jeremiah 14:22   Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain?

(I suggest everyone read the book of Jeremiah.)

Hymn: Praise Him, Praise Him, Jesus our blessed redeemer

(Click forward arrow > to play music:)

1.  Praise Him! praise Him!
Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!

Sing, ye saints! His wonderful love proclaim!

Hail Him! hail Him! mightiest angels in glory;

Strength and honor give to His holy name!

Like a shepherd, Jesus will feed His people,

In His WORD He carries them all day long;

O ye saints that live in the light of His presence,

Praise Him! praise Him!
ever in joyful song!

2.  Praise Him! praise Him!
Jesus, our blessed Redeemer,

For our sins He suffered and bled and died;

He, our Rock, our Hope of eternal salvation,

Hail Him! hail Him!
Jesus, the Crucified;

Loving Savior, meekly enduring sorrow,

Crowned with thorns that cruelly pierced His brow;
Once for us rejected, despised, and forsaken,

Prince of Glory, ever triumphant now.

3.   Praise Him! praise Him!
Jesus, our blessed Redeemer,

Heavenly portals, loud with hosannahs ring!
(portal:  doorway, way in, way out)

Jesus, Savior, reigneth for ever and ever;

Crown Him! crown Him!
Prophet and Priest and King!

Death is vanquished!

Tell it with joy, ye faithful,
Where is now thy victory, boasting grave?

Jesus lives!

No longer thy portals are cheerless;
Jesus lives, the mighty and strong to save.

Scripture pertaining to this hymn:

Romans 5:5-9     the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.  For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.  For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
But God commendeth HIS love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

(We didn't shed our blood for our sins, but Jesus shed His blood to pay for our sins ... without shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins  Hebrews 9:22 ... we cannot hope to pay for our sins and our wrong actions by our good works ... only by shed blood are we redeemed from sin and cleansed)

Revelation 5:1-14   And I saw in the right hand of HIM that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.

And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?

And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.

And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

And HE came and took the book out of the right hand of HIM that sat upon the throne.

And when HE had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. And they sung a new song, saying, THOU art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for THOU wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by THY blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto HIM that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped HIM that liveth for ever and ever.

Luke 24:1-8   Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.

(The dead human body decays and stinks. They brought spices to cover the odor of death. But God was not going to suffer the body of Jesus to see corruption as other flesh sees corruption.)

And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.

And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:

And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?

HE is not here, but is risen: remember how HE spake unto you when HE was yet in Galilee,

Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

And they remembered HIS words,
