Living in Jesus, The Word

John 15:1-6   Jesus says:   (The Word) am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

Every branch in me
(The Word) that beareth not fruit HE taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, HE purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

Abide in ME (The Word) , and I in you.

As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in ME (The Word).

(The Word) am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in ME (The Word), and I (The Word) in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without ME (The Word)  ye can do nothing.

If a man abide not in ME (The Word), he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Comments by Joan Boney:

We abide in Jesus as we live in the Word given to us by God through HIS Spirit.

Each of us have to ask ourselves, What has God told me to do about the situation?

(God often speaks to us directly by HIS Spirit by putting ideas into our heads, or by reminding us of a scripture or a dream.  Sometimes God speaks to us through another person.)

How to know the wisdom from God?

James 3:17    But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

*  Pure:  Without bias or other influences.

Sometimes a person will be blinded by his own desire often in an irrational way.  God might send HIS word to that person by another messenger.

*  Easy to be intreated:

To me, this is one of the most important considerations:  I have so often seen the ideas from God to be simple and easy to do.  If the plan is complex and expensive, I always know to continue to ask God what I should do and consider another way to do the project.

Without hypocrisy:

Any form of deception, either from our self or another, shows us we are going the wrong way.

*****

By faith in believing we have heard from God, we follow that Word, doing that instruction.

For God keeps us by HIS Word.

HIS word is truth in the matter at hand.

*****

Sometimes God will divide us from another person who would be a handicap to our going forward in ways of God.

God showed Pam Padgett that to go among her relatives would be like walking into a hill of red ants.

God once gave me a dream showing me I would not be able to go out through my cousin's house.  When my mother died, my cousin tried to get me to move to city where she lived with her husband and adult aged sons in same town.  She said the "boys" would be such help to us.  But God had warned me that I could not do this.  So I was refrained by the Word from God in that dream.  I know it would have ended up badly for me had I tried to move there.

*****

When we hear the Word from God it often separates us from those who have not heard from God.

Luke 12:51-53    Suppose ye that I (The Word) am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

The Word changes us and divides us from the thinking of the world.

The apostle Paul is one of the most dramatic examples of being changed by The Word.

Acts 9:1-6    And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,  And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou ME?

And he said, Who art thou, Lord?

And the Lord said, I am Jesus (The Word) whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do

And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

*****

Our flesh loves and craves excitement.  We want to stir something up.  Our flesh loves controversy.  If it were not this way there would be no newscasts.

Some of us loved "justice" and righteousness so much and wanted others to live in justice and righteousness that we debated and argued and fretted our self when we saw humans go in a way of evil.  We were constantly stirred up.

I was this way until God gave me The Word on the subject of righteousness:

II Peter 3:13-14    Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

***

The righteousness I so desired for myself and others would be in that new heavens and new earth that comes after this life.  This present earth will never be righteousness.  It will get worse and worse and men of this earth will get worse and worse according to the apostle Paul.  II Timothy 3:13

The goal for me was to learn to live in peace ... To keep myself without spot in the midst of the trouble ... to remain blameless while waiting here for the return of Jesus.

It was not to try to make the other person do "right", but rather for me to do right by turning to God in the problem and doing that which God showed me to do.  Peace is in this.

***

God's way by HIS Word is always the answer for us to the problem.

I was troubled by some of the things I heard my housekeeper say when she would come to my house to clean.

I turned to God with the pain I felt over her words.

As I continued to fret and be troubled, I heard "The Word" from God on this issue.

"Just focus on that which she does well."

That which she does well is cleaning!

I stopped trying to share spiritual things with her.  I even had to stop sharing the "good" secular things for when I did I saw her pervert the good to evil in her thinking and in the ramblings of her mind.

To live in peace with this woman, I had to keep everything focused on cleaning and not allow myself to speak to her about other matters.  As long as I did that, there was no problem.  I had to stop trying to share with her as I would share with a friend.  This worked when I controlled myself by that Word I had heard from God on this matter.

***

Abide in that Word which you have heard from the Spirit of God on the matter at hand.  Continue in those concepts shown you by God.  Live in peace.  Stop fretting yourself.

When you stop trying to make the other person do right ... and you focus on doing right in the sight of God in the matter at hand, you will keep yourself by The Word you hear from God and you will be able to live on this present evil world in peace, without spot, and blameless as you wait for the return of Jesus, The Word.

Instruction in Righteousness: John 7

After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for He would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill Him.

***

Now the Jew's feast of tabernacles was at hand.

His brethren therefore said unto Him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that Thy disciples also may see the works that Thou doest. For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew Thyself to the world.

For neither did His brethren believe in Him.

Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.

The world cannot hate you; but Me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.

Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast: for My time is not yet full come.

When He had said these words unto them, He abode still in Galilee.

10 But when His brethren were gone up, then went He also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

11 Then the Jews sought Him at the feast, and said, Where is He?

12 And there was much murmuring among the people concerning Him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but He deceiveth the people.

13 Howbeit no man spake openly of Him for fear of the Jews.

***

14 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught. 15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?

16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not Mine, but His that sent Me.

17 If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of Myself.

18 He that speaketh of himself (from his own ideas) seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh His glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

19 Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill Me?

20 The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?

21 Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.

22 Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the Father's;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.

23 If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at Me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?

24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

25 Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this He, whom they seek to kill?  26 But, lo, He speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto Him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?

27 Howbeit we know this man whence He is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence He is.

(They said they knew "whence he is" because they knew he was the son of Joseph and Mary who lived among them. They didn't realize Jesus was born of God by HIS Spirit and the words HE spoke were given HIM by God to speak.  It is the same with us today when we speak that which is given us by God.)

28 Then cried Jesus in the temple as He taught, saying, Ye both know Me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of Myself, but He that sent Me is true, whom ye know not. 29 But I know Him: for I am from Him, and He hath sent Me.

(God sent Jesus.)

30 Then they sought to take Him: but no man laid hands on Him, because His hour was not yet come.

31 And many of the people believed on Him, and said, When Christ cometh, will He do more miracles than these which this man hath done?

32 The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning Him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take Him.

33 Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto Him that sent Me. 34 Ye shall seek Me, and shall not find Me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.

35 Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will He go, that we shall not find Him? will He go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles? 36 What manner of saying is this that He said, Ye shall seek Me, and shall not find Me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come?

(Unless you are born again, you cannot understand.)

37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto Me (The Word), and drink.

38 He that believeth on Me (The Word), as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

39 (But this spake He of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

40 Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is The Prophet.

41 Others said, This is the Christ.

But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?

(Again referring to Jesus being son of Joseph and Mary and not realizing Joseph was of Bethlehem and Jesus was born in Bethlehem, as the prophets had said would happen,.)

42 Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?

43 So there was a division among the people because of Him (because of The Word).

44 And some of them would have taken Him; but no man laid hands on Him.

45 Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought Him?

46 The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.

47 Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived? 48 Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on Him? 49 But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.

(But it was envy leading the Pharisees for they desired the gifts of God and they saw Jesus doing the things they desired to do, healing the sick and such, and they saw the people marveling in Jesus and worshipping Jesus because of the works which they saw Jesus do.  Therefore their reasoning was twisted for where there is envy and strife there is confusion and every evil work.  James 3)

***

50 Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,) 51 Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth?

52 They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

(Their own knowledge of the law and their own way of thinking, their own wisdom, deceived them.)

53 And every man went unto his own house.

Jesus calls HIS sheep by name and goes before them when HE puts them forth

Book:  Exhortations for the Church
Vol. 3, Chapter 26
Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

John 10:3-4 ... and the sheep hear HIS voice (HIS Word): and HE calleth HIS own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when HE putteth forth HIS own sheep, HE (The Word) goeth before them, and the sheep follow HIM (The Word HE gives): for they know HIS voice.

***

I was born again, given the Spirit of God, in 1975.  Shortly after that, I was asleep in the night and was transported into heaven.  I was with God, with Jesus, with Holy Spirit.  No images, just spiritual experience.  At that time, I was merged into the body of Jesus, made one with Word of God, God and Holy Spirit witnessing.

A few night later, the exact same thing happened a second time.

I was on fire for Bible and things of God after this.

At that time, I owned a small business and had 3 very competent women who worked for me.  This allowed me to stay at my apartment and study Bible all day.  I did this for several years.

I had no thought at all of being a minister.  I just wanted to study Bible.

I did finally recognize God had called me to be a minister.

When I was taken into heaven those two times and merged into the body of Jesus, made one with the word of God, I thought this happened to every Christian.  I didn't tell anyone what happened at that time, thinking this was a standard part of being a Christian.

As time passed, I learned this was not a thing that happened to everyone.

By the end of 3 or 4 years, I was fully persuaded God had called me and set me into the ministry.

Several people, including the pastor at the church I was attending at that time, said I was a "prophet" (Eph. 4).

One day I was in my car and Holy Spirit began talking to me:  "Joan ... I've called you and set you into body of Christ as an apostle ..."

Apostle!  I shouted ... what does that mean?

During the months following this experience, God began teaching me the work I was to do in the offices of both apostle/prophet.

***

When I was fully persuaded I was to close my business and "go into the ministry", I had no church to go to.  I had no firm work to do.  I had no income.  I just lived off the money made from the sale of merchandise when I closed my business.  My life didn't change much during those months.  I just stayed at my apartment and studied Bible as I had been doing the previous 4 years.

Everything changed January 10, 1980 ... Jesus (The Word) was sending me forth.

I was asleep in the night.  A very loud trumpet like voice spoke three words into my ear as I slept:

 "Hartford, Seattle, KWJS"

I jumped out of bed ... and quickly wrote "KWJS" on notepad.

These letters meant nothing to me but I suspected they were call letters to either radio or TV.

It turned out to be call letters to a radio station.

I said to God, "Are YOU telling me to go on radio.  I'm not a speaker.  I'm a writer.  I wouldn't know how to do that."

Gentle impression came into my mind after I said that to God:  "Call the radio station manager."

I called the radio station as soon as I thought the business office would be opened and asked to speak to the radio station manager.  He came on phone immediately.  I told him I thought God might be telling me to go on radio and I asked him how one does that.

Radio station manager said:  "Make an audition tape 29 1/2 minutes long and if you fit our format we will offer you contract."

Within a week, I was broadcasting exhortations to the church on KWJS.

***

Jesus (The Word) put me forth and went before me, just as it says in John 10.

All I had to do was what HE (The Word) told me to do.

Jesus calls HIS sheep by name ... individually Jesus puts us forth by HIS Word which HE brings to our mind, usually in the form of a thought ... and HE (The Word) always goes before us.

***

There are several gifts of the Holy Spirit (Romans 12 & I Cor. 12) ... not all persons have the same gifts.

We are given gifts to use to benefit the church according to the will of God.

I have a spiritual gift of "exhortation".

Pam Padgett, in our little church group, has a gift of "helps" ... we work together in the ministry.

She is incredibly helpful to me in getting messages prepared for publishing, both on our blog and on the books made available through Amazon.

We are both equipped by God for the work HE prepared for us to do on this present earth.  Nothing is lacking.  God has provided everything we need to do the work to which HE called us.

***

John 10 ... Jesus said ... I (The Word) am the door of the sheep.

Jesus, The Word, is the door ... By the Word Jesus gives us we see the way we are to go out the door.

 ***

I Cor. 12 ... 4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as HE (God) will.

***

Romans 12 ... 4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:

5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;

7 Or ministry  (serving), let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;

8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

***

I Cor. 12 ... 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 14 For the body is not one member, but many.

15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?

18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased HIM.

19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?

20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.

21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: 23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.  24 For our comely parts have no need:

but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: 25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

28 And God hath set some in the church (to care for the church), first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? 30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

***

As we see from these scriptures, we do not all have the same spiritual gifts ... and "some" are set in the church to care for the church.  We work where we are set by God.  We do not "achieve to a position"  ... we do not start out pastor and after experience "arrive" to position of apostle.

As we are born male or female, we are reborn with the gifts assigned by God and some are given to the church as apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, teacher.

You can have more than one office.  In the Bible we see that Paul was an apostle, teacher.  (2 ministry offices)

There are no "ministers of music" ... this was added to the church by man, not by God.

The Bible tells us the ministry offices set in the church by Jesus.

After the resurrection, Jesus gave these ministry offices to work to help the New Testament church.

Ephesians 4 ... 7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. 8 Wherefore HE saith, When HE (Jesus) ascended up on high, HE led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

9 (Now that HE ascended, what is it but that HE also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10 HE that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that HE might fill all things.)

11 And HE gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

The gift is to the church ... the ministry office is a gift to the church to help those in the church.

God will supply all our need

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Pam Padgett is doing a small remodel job at her home.  She was diligently praying for God to show her what to do concerning the small bath.

Her plan was to "flip" two rooms, moving the laundry to the place where the 1/2 bath was located.

One afternoon, I heard, "Put the shower in the 1/2 bath."  (this would leave the laundry room without any construction to be done)

After I communicated this to Pam, she said, "That would certainly simplify the construction and make the project much easier and reduce cost."  She rejoiced!

Later when I mentioned this subject, I could tell Pam was troubled when she should be rejoicing that God watches over us and shows us the best way for us to go.

Pam was grieved because she got off track.

Paul said he had no confidence in the flesh.  Philippians 3

Neither should we.

But we can greatly rejoice that God watches over us in all things and if we are going in a way that is not best for us, God intervenes and stops us.

This is great comfort.

*****

Also we measure what we do by the following scripture:

James 3:17   But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

If a plan is hard to do, complex, overly expensive, I always know I am not going in God's way.

Often plans are not "pure".  Humans come along and plant a seed in us by their own wisdom.  That idea can become a part of us unless we take that idea to God in prayer.  Years later we might enter into thinking something and trapped in a plan which would not be the best plan for us.

But even when this happens God frees us!

I think this is what happened to Pam.

Years ago, a man said her little bath was in a bad location.  (I think the opposite is true for the bath is at the hallway where it is convenient to the kitchen, the new theater room, and the new guest bedroom.)

Pam was concerned that it wasn't "private" enough.  I have been at Pam's house in past and even thought that bath was in a very good location and convenient, which was the opposite from that which this man said to her years ago.

I believe Pam was trapped in wisdom of humans and God freed her to a better way.

For sure, it simplified the whole project and was more in keeping with the wisdom that is from above according to James 3:17.

Pam was really freed when she was reminded of the house she very much wanted to buy when she moved to that area of town.  Someone offered a contract before Pam could and she didn't get the house she wanted.  But she remembered the little 1/2 bath in the house she wanted to purchase was in the same location of her 1/2 bath which she thought to be a problem location.

The mind is sometimes strange.  But God has HIS way of dealing with us.

Instruction in Righteousness: John 6

After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias.

And a great multitude followed Him, because they saw His miracles which He did on them that were diseased.

And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there He sat with His disciples.

And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.

When Jesus then lifted up His eyes, and saw a great company come unto Him, He saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?

And this He said to prove him: for He Himself knew what He would do.

Philip answered Him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.

One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto Him,
There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?  (There were 5,000 men.)

10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down.

Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when He had given thanks, He distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.

12 When they were filled, He said unto His disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.

13 Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.

(They had more at the end than at the beginning.)

14 Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.

15 When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take Him by force, to make Him a king, He departed again into a mountain Himself alone.

***

16 And when even was now come, His disciples went down unto the sea,17 And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them.

18 And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.

19 So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.

20 But He saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.

21 Then they willingly received Him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.

***

22 The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one whereinto His disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with His disciples into the boat, but that His disciples were gone away alone;23 (Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks:)

24 When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither His disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.

25 And when they had found Him on the other side of the sea, they said unto Him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?

26 Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek Me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for Him hath God the Father sealed.

***

28 Then said they unto Him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him (on The Word) whom He hath sent.

***

30 They said therefore unto Him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?

31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.

32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but My Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.33 For the bread of God is He (The Word) which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

***

34 Then said they unto Him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

35 And Jesus said unto them, I (The Word) am the bread of life: he that cometh to Me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on Me shall never thirst.

36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen Me, and believe not.

37 All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out.

38 For I came down from heaven, not to do Mine own will, but the will of Him that sent Me.

39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent Me, that of all which He hath given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

40 And this is the will of Him that sent Me, that every one which seeth the Son (The Word) , and believeth on Him (The Word), may have everlasting life: and I (The Word) will raise him up at the last day.

***

41 The Jews then murmured at Him, because He said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.

42 And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that He saith, I came down from heaven?

***

43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.

44 No man can come to Me, except the Father which hath sent Me draw him: and I (The Word) will raise him up at the last day.

45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of (from) the Father, cometh unto Me.

(God will teach them.  God will put HIS laws into their hearts and minds.  Hebrews 8 & 10 ...  Also God speaks to HIS people directly by HIS Spirit to teach them the way of God.  John 14:26 & John 16:13)

46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save He which is of God, He hath seen the Father.

***

47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me (on The Word) hath everlasting life.

48 I (The Word) am that bread of life.

49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

50 This (The Word) is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

***

51 I (The Word) am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread (The Word), he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

52 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us His flesh to eat?

***

53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His blood, ye have no life in you.  (Eating and drinking the Word)

54 Whoso eateth My flesh (The Word), and drinketh My blood (The Word), hath eternal life; and I (The Word) will raise him up at the last day.

55 For My flesh (The Word) is meat indeed, and My blood (The Word) is drink indeed.

***

56 He that eateth My flesh (The Word), and drinketh My blood (The Word), dwelleth in Me (The Word), and I (The Word) in him.

(We eat HIS flesh and drink HIS blood when we consume the WORD, HIM, and make it a part of us, abiding in the WORD.)

***

57 As the living Father hath sent Me (The Word), and I live by the Father: so he that eateth Me (The Word) , even he shall live by Me (The Word).

***

58 This (The Word) is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread (The Word) shall live for ever.

***

59 These things said He in the synagogue, as He taught in Capernaum.

60 Many therefore of His disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?

61 When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples murmured at it, He said unto them, Doth this offend you?  62 What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where He was before?

63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray Him.

65 And He said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto Me, except it were given unto him of My Father.

66 From that time many of His disciples went back, and walked no more with Him.

***

67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?

68 Then Simon Peter answered Him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. 69 And we believe and are sure that Thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

***

70 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

71 He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray Him, being one of the twelve.

(The Lord's supper is the eating and drinking of the Word of God and correctly living in that Word.)
