Ephesians 4:8-16 ... Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Ephesians 4:8-16 ...Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. 9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Many church groups today are taught that there are no longer apostle or prophets in the NT church.

But the above scripture explains that after Jesus was crucified and arose, HE gave gifts to the church, ministers to work in the church ...  and it names these "gifts" to the church as apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers.

Paul was not the last of the apostles.  Paul was the first example we have of a NT apostle for Paul did not walk with Jesus in the flesh as the other apostles did.  Rather Paul was called and given to the church after Jesus arose.  Paul is an example of the first of the apostles set in the church after the crucifixion and resurrection.  Paul is the first NT apostle set in the church by Jesus.

Eph. 4 explains today in NT church we have apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers.

And in I Cor. 12, Paul explains "some" in the body of Christ are apostles ... some are prophets, some are teachers ... I Cor. 12:28

One of the things God showed me a NT apostle does is to work with scripture, setting doctrine in the church according to scripture and dealing with false doctrine in the church groups.  There are many doctrines in churches today that are not according to scripture.

Translations of Bible

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

I use the KJV of Bible because I noticed when Holy Spirit would bring scripture to my attention it was usually in KJV.

I felt translators tried to stay as close to original as possible.

We have so many translations today because humans are trying to help people to understand what Bible is saying so they believe they can do this by translating Bible into modern forms of language.

But understanding is from God and not from man.  So it if God who opens our eyes to the Word of God regardless of the translation.

When the translators of KJV added something by their own thinking they put the addition in brackets and italics to show us they added this to the translation.

For example:

I Cor. 7 ... 38 ... So then he that giveth (her) in marriage doeth well; but he that giveth (her) not in marriage doeth better.

The translators of KJV added the word "her" to the above scripture since it made sense to them that way.  But at least they put it in italics and brackets so we would know they added this.

The use of the word "her" changes the meaning of this verse considerably.

As it is with her, they are speaking of giving a woman in marriage.

But without the word "her" look at the meaning...

So then he that giveth in marriage doeth well; but he that giveth not in marriage doeth better.

This would apply to the action of the man ... giving himself in the marriage ... vs not marrying.  And this is the subject Paul is speaking of in this scripture.  Paul is saying it is better not to marry so you can attend on the Lord.

I believe the correct meaning of this scripture is without the addition of the word "her".

I Cor. 7 ... 32But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:  33But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife. 34There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband. 35And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.
36But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry. 37Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well. 38So then he that giveth in marriage doeth well; but he that giveth not in marriage doeth better.

I have translations of NASB and NIV but seldom use them.

I like the pureness of the KJV and I find when I don't understand something I just turn to God and tell Him I don't understand and sometimes HE will open my eyes to understand.

I find more blockage of pure understanding when I use the NASB and NIV.  I know the NIV was translated by many of the men of Dallas Theological Seminary which takes, for most part, a "spiritless" view often times.  These men would, for most part, teach against tongues and ignore many of the gifts of Holy Spirit.  Therefore I am very careful when I use this translation.  I do use the translation of Acts 17:26 in NIV.  It just seems clearer to me.  But this is about the only verse I use in NIV and for the rest of the time I use KJV.

1 Peter 5:8-9 ... Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

1 Peter 5:8-9 ... Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

How does the devil destroy an individual?

The devil brings thoughts to our minds.  (Also the Holy Spirit brings thoughts to our minds.)

The thoughts brought by the devil will be opposite to the way of God.

The thoughts brought by the Holy Spirit searches the heart of God in each issue of this life to show us what God thinks about that which we are doing or thinking of doing so we can go in the way of God.

John says:  Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God ... I Jn. 4:1

Please read:  How to try the spirits to see if they are of God.

Paul says:  3For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)  5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; I Cor. 10

We have to know if the idea that came to us is from the Spirit of God or the devil.  Sometimes it is obvious.  Other times the devil tries to make it seem like God is leading us, sort of a "religious" thought ... We see example of the devil sending "religious" thought to Jesus ... but Jesus knew it was devil imitating spiritual things.

Mt. 4 ... 3And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

I find many people today who followed the voice of devil into the ministry, thinking it was God showing them to do these "good" works.  There are a great many religious spirits speaking ideas to the minds of men and women today.

I've had multiple people tell me they want to be ministers.  Some actually try to do this but usually they end up begging other humans for money to pay for their works.  This is rampant. It fits what Jesus said would happen in end times ... The disciples came to Jesus and ask HIM what would be the sign of the end times and the first thing Jesus told them to look for is the following ... Mt. 24 ... Take heed that no man deceive you. 5For many shall come in my name, saying, I (Jesus) am Christ; and shall deceive many.

If they were to come saying Buddha is Lord, you would not consider listening to them.  Instead they come saying "Jesus is Lord" and many listen because they say this.  This is a sign of the end times.  Mt. 24

They come doing "many good works" which often seem right.

But Jesus also said following showing us these works were not good although they came professing to us that their works are good ...

Mt. 7 ... Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them,  I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

As new Christians, most of us encountered people (ministers) that we thought were of God but now we know these persons were not of God.  As we look back we realize this. God pulls us away from them by His Spirit.  Sometimes we recognize them as they twist various scriptures.  Sometimes they blatantly do evil works while saying Jesus is Lord.

Certainly if we belong to God, having HIS Spirit, God has a way to make these people known to us.

In 1980, I attended a church in Dallas where there was much evil being done by the pastor.  I really loved the pastor.  I didn't see the wrong until God gave me the following dream ... In this dream, I went into a room where a meeting was going on.  There was one vacant seat on the aisle and I sat down and began listening to a man who was speaking to the group.  Another man rushed and went to the front of the room and said, "Stop ... wait ... can't you see ... It's too late!  It's already begun."The first man resumed speaking to the group.  I looked out the window and was shocked at what I saw.  There was a tall, civil defense type pole with a yellow warning speaker on top of the pole.  Out of the speaker was coming a poison gas.  I knew it would kill the people and shockingly the gas was coming from our own speaker which was supposed to warn us.   I looked at the man who was sitting next to me.  He was sitting upright.  He had a big smile on his face.  He was looking directly at the speaker in an attentive way.  But this man was a corpse.  He was dead though he looked alive.  Then I looked at people around the room and they were already dead also.  And as I sat back in my seat, I felt myself falling asleep, dying as I listened to the speaker.

Several months after receiving this dream, I attended the church group that I had been attending.  I looked at the man seated next to me and he seemed "dead", though he looked alive.  I looked around the room and the people looked like they were dead although they had big smiles on their face.  It was just like the poison gas dream.  I got up immediately and went into rest room and began praying.  I said to God, "I think you are telling me to leave this church group.  I'm going to drive away but if you want me to return I will return."  I went to my car and drove away.

After that, God begin showing me various errors in the doctrine being taught us that that church group.

Several months after I left that group, many sins being done by the pastor were even printed in secular newspapers and aired on TV for all to see.  It was terrible and very shocking.  But it fit Mt. 24 exactly.

The pastor that I loved so much was Robert Tilton.  (If you want to read about him, type his name into computer and read the Wickipedia article.)

Please read:  Evil from pastors

But what if you die?

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Every time I have a message or something to add to a message and think I will do that "tomorrow", I hear:  "But what if you die tonight?"

Then it would not get done.

So I get up and do it immediately.

James 4:14 ... 14Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

Pray always

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Jesus said ... Lk. 21 ... Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. 34And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

This means, stay connected daily to God through continual prayer, through talking things over with God, through communicating with God.

I'm sure I can't do anything of myself, of my own thinking.  It is only as God brings something to my attention that I can speak or act.  And when that happens I must speak or act according to what I hear.

The rest of the time I mostly do nothing.  For I can do nothing by my own thinking.  It will be futile.

And what about all these things we can see ... our houses, our properties, our clothings ...

Lk. 21 ... And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said, 6As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

Why are we so concerned about these things when we know they will be destroyed?

A few days ago, I went to lunch with a woman from bridge center.  When we came home she drove to front of my house to show me something one of my neighbors was doing.  I noticed the big tree in front of my house.  It has some dead branches.  I mentioned this.  She jumped on my words excitedly telling me all the things I must do immediately.  I told her I'm not doing anything.  She said, "But it might be diseased."  I repeated I'm not doing anything.  I did pray, telling God it would be easier on me if the tree lived.  When I went to mail box a few minutes ago, I noticed the tree looked fine.

Getting all stirred up over all these physical things is not something I care to do.

God shined light on truth others tried to hide

Pam Padgett ... teacher

While working as a computer programmer, I was assigned to lead a project to replace an existing application.  The business people who would use the application had spent years getting approval for this project and were looking forward to having the new application in place as soon as possible now that it had been approved.  My manager assigned just a few people to work on it, but each of us had other assignments with higher priority.  We were able to do very little on this project.

I learned that the management of the people who would use the application were told only that people were assigned to work on it, but not that we had higher priority assignments as well.  So I spoke with my manager multiple times making sure he was aware of how little was being done on the project and how deceptive the reports being given were.  He did nothing to correct either the assignments nor the reports.  When my manager's boss told me how glad she was this project had been approved, I told her of the problems.  She did nothing.  When the people who were putting the reports together came to ask the status of the project, I told them how little could be done and why.  When I would later see the reports they created, it was shocking to see how the information was twisted.

The deception was very disturbing to me, and I kept trying to get the truth reported and prayed asking God for help.

One day I was told the vice-president of our area wanted to come discuss this project.  My manager told me he and his boss would be meeting with the woman who would put together a presentation to be given to the vice president.  They would work on how they could present the project so it looked like progress was being made.  Amazingly, he asked if I'd like to join the meeting.  I told him I would provide accurate information for the presentation, but wanted nothing to do with meeting to present the information in a way that hid the truth.

Those of us assigned to work on the project were expected to be in the meeting with the vice president where the presentation was to be given.  I kept crying out to God.  One of my concerns was that I would start screaming when the presentation was given, and I prayed for help to handle this however God wanted it handled.

The day of the meeting I continued to pray, even as I was walking to the meeting, asking God to please control my tongue and let me speak only what HE wanted spoken.  The meeting started with a copy of the presentation being handed to the vice president.  Surprisingly, he set the presentation aside and said he wanted to hear directly  from those working on the project.  This is something I had never seen happen in more than 20 years of working there.   The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will. (Prov. 21:1)

I opened my mouth and started telling the vice president what was really going on with the project.  The words that came from my mouth were very clear and direct.  Nothing was left unsaid.  Nothing was "sugar coated".  (I believe God gave me words to speak) The others assigned to the project shook their heads in agreement with what I said.  My manager and the woman who prepared the presentation came to the meeting thinking they would be in charge, but said nothing.  They could not deny what was being said. After hearing what was really happening with the project, the vice president took action based on the truth, directing my manager in what he should be doing.

It causes me to marvel in the power and wisdom of God to consider how perfectly HE brought everything together in this, wonderfully answering my prayer, and bringing forth the truth which others were trying to hide.

1 John 4:1-4 ... Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

1 John 4:1-4 ... Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Can we try the spirits?  Do we have authority to question spirits to try them to see if that spirit that brought that thought is from God?

If we belong to God we do have this authority.

Acts 19 ... Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. 14And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. 15And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? 16And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

We have to belong to God to do this.

I try the spirits by saying directly to that spirit that brought that thought to my mind:  "Do you confess that Jesus is come in the flesh?"  When I do this, that spirit replies to me in form of a thought either "Yes" or "No".

Most of the time I know which spirit is bringing those thoughts to me.  But when I am not sure, I can try that spirit.  But I belong to God.

Please read:  How to try the spirit to see if it is of God.

Rejoicing in heaven

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

God hates sin in the church ... even more than I hate sin in the church.

Recently I wrote about trying to attend a small Assembly of God church and seeing hanging on the wall inside their building a photo of a long haired man representing Jesus.  After the service I told the pastor he should take that photo down.  That is not a photo of Jesus.  There are no photos of Jesus for there were no cameras in the days of Jesus.  That is a photo of a man who is pictured as Jesus.  It is in fact a graven image ... this is what God said to me as I was writing this ... "graven image" ...

When I looked up graven image in Bible, there were many scriptures concerning graven image.  Some of which are as follows.  These show how God views graven images and how much God hates graven images.  And as I wrote this I saw immediately what joy we bring to God and to the angels in heaven when we on earth destroy a graven image.

Ex. 20 ...  3Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God

Lev. 26 ... 1Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.

Deut. 4 ... 16Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female, 17The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air, 18The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth: 19And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

Deut. 5 ...  8Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:

Moses was meeting with God and God said to Moses: Ex. 32 ...  Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves: 8They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

Moses returned to where the people were ...Ex. 32 ...  15And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand: the tables were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written. 16And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables. 17And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said unto Moses, There is a noise of war in the camp. 18And he said, It is not the voice of them that shout for mastery, neither is it the voice of them that cry for being overcome: but the noise of them that sing do I hear.  19And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses’ anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount. 20And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.

Later, through hundreds of years even to this day, religious people have set up various types of graven images in their churches.  These they worship before God and the anger of God overflows because of this false worship which they are calling "worshiping God".  My anger is great but I know God's anger is far greater than my anger.

One of the greatest "graven images" in the churches today set up by fleshly men is the taking of grape juice and crackers and calling it "The Lord's Supper" and teaching the congregations to do such.  The Lord's supper has nothing to do with crackers and grape juice.  This is fleshly foolishness in the churches.  The Lord's supper is the Word of God and the correctly partaking of the Word of God.  What an horrible abomination it is to relate crackers and grape juice to communion with God and Jesus.  Communion with Jesus is partaking of the Word of God.  We eat the flesh of Jesus when we partake of the Word of God.  The Word of God is HIS flesh.  The Word of God is HIS blood.  How terribly angry God must be over substituting crackers and grape juice for HIS Word and daring to call such communion with HIM.

While the anger is great with God and with the angels and in heaven over such things, I know we bring rejoicing to God and the angels in heaven each time we, who are really of God, attack such fleshly idols set up in the churches.

I know this because of the following:

Deut. 7 ... 5But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.  6For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.

Deut. 7 ...  25The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God. 26Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.

Deut. 12 ... 3And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.  4Ye shall not do so unto the LORD your God.

II Kings 17 ... 38And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods. 39But the LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies. 40Howbeit they did not hearken, but they did after their former manner. 41So these nations feared the LORD, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children’s children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.

II Chron. 34 ...  7And when he had broken down the altars and the groves, and had beaten the graven images into powder, and cut down all the idols throughout all the land of Israel, he returned to Jerusalem.

Psa. 78 ...  58For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their graven images.

Psa. 97 ...  7Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.

Isa. 30 ... 22Ye shall defile also the covering of thy graven images of silver, and the ornament of thy molten images of gold: thou shalt cast them away as a menstruous cloth; thou shalt say unto it, Get thee hence.

Isa. 42 ... 8I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

Jere. 8 ... Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, and with strange vanities?

Jere. 50 ... 38A drought is upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it is the land of graven images, and they are mad upon their idols.

Jere. 51 ... 52Wherefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will do judgment upon her graven images: and through all her land the wounded shall groan.

Hosea 11 ... 2As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.

Micah 1 ... 7And all the graven images thereof shall be beaten to pieces, and all the hires thereof shall be burned with the fire, and all the idols thereof will I lay desolate: for she gathered it of the hire of an harlot, and they shall return to the hire of an harlot.

Micah 5 ... 13Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thine hands.  14And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee: so will I destroy thy cities.  15And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen, such as they have not heard.

How dare any of you calling yourselves Christian partake of any of the abominations in the churches set up by fleshly men?

Instead, we who are of God tear down these graven images which are in the church today.  We hammer against them and grind them to power before their eyes.  And we may even do as Moses did and make them eat the dust of the image.  And as we do this God rejoices and there is rejoicing in heaven for if we don't tear these things down, who will?

Each time I write about such, the graven image is hit again with an axe.  Each time you refuse to participate in honoring the graven image the image is broken again.

And when we take such action, there is great rejoicing in heaven with God and HIS angels.

Pam Padgett refused to honor the woman at church who was divorced and was planning to remarry.  She refused to honor the man at church who was marrying this divorced woman.  She even went to the woman who was to be bridesmaid and tried to turn her from the abomination of the wedding which was being sanctioned at church where divorced people were remarrying and committing adultery.  Please read:  When the single's class at church tried to run away from me

I know God greatly rejoices when we attack graven images in the church and even in the world.  And we cause rejoicing in heaven each time we swing a sledge hammer at their idols and break up their idols with repeated words against their idols.

Great is the rejoicing of God and the angels over these words we are speaking on this earth.

Judges 6 ... concerning Gideon

25And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Take thy father’s young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it:  26And build an altar unto the LORD thy God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the grove which thou shalt cut down.

27Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as the LORD had said unto him: and so it was, because he feared his father’s household, and the men of the city, that he could not do it by day, that he did it by night.

28And when the men of the city arose early in the morning, behold, the altar of Baal was cast down, and the grove was cut down that was by it, and the second bullock was offered upon the altar that was built. 29And they said one to another, Who hath done this thing? And when they enquired and asked, they said, Gideon the son of Joash hath done this thing. 30Then the men of the city said unto Joash, Bring out thy son, that he may die: because he hath cast down the altar of Baal, and because he hath cut down the grove that was by it. 31And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will ye plead for Baal? will ye save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst it is yet morning: if he be a god, let him plead for himself, because one hath cast down his altar. 32Therefore on that day he called him Jerubbaal, saying, Let Baal plead against him, because he hath thrown down his altar.

Lk. 18 ... And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging: 36And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant. 37And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by. 38And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. 39And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. 40And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him, 41Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight. 42And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. 43And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.

This man was trapped in blindness.  He couldn't get out.  But he believed God could get him out through Jesus.  So he called on HIM.  Even when they tried to stop him from crying out, he saw Jesus as his chance at getting sight.  We would have done anything had we been in his situation.  And that is what he did.  He kept calling out for help from the source who could help.  By crying out in his problem, he got the attention of Jesus.

Even the people of this world often cry out to God when they get into serious trouble.  I was watching a TV show about the plane that had to land in the Hudson River a few years ago.  When the passengers felt they were going to crash, many of them cried out to God for help.  I had no doubt they were serious in their cries.

"Show me what to do?  Help me to see the way to go."  prayers that many of us make constantly.  Like that blind man calling for Jesus to give him his sight, I am often calling out for Jesus (God) to show me what to do, give me sight.

I don't want to be wise in my own eyes.  I know the only sure thing is what God shows me.  When God shows me something I am then established and people can't pull me off the way though they so often try to do so.

When I was 73, I fell over a box.  During the surgery a bone in my leg shattered and they had to put a metal rod in my leg.  This complicated everything.  I didn't think I would walk again.  But God gave Joseph Meriweather ( a man in our church group) a dream about me and I was walking and walking even without a cane.  Then I knew I would walk again.

When God shows us something, we know!

A year after I returned home from hospital, my cat died.  I was devastated.  That night I cried out to God, "Help me ... I need help."  I heard:  "Get on internet and find a Siamese cat breeder and get a cat."
This completely changed my direction.  By this time I was 74 years old.  I didn't plan to get another cat, reasoning that I was too old.  I would likely die before the cat died.  But God had other plans for me and God's plans for me were much higher than my plans for myself.  I was so deeply grieved "in my way".  After I heard from God and got on internet and searched for a breeder, all of the grief over Samantha was gone and it never returned again.  The grief completely ended!

So I found a breeder that morning and called and she said she could have a kitten to me by Wednesday (4 days).  The kitten came from San Diego, California, shipped by air to Houston, flown to Midland, TX, 100 miles from Lubbock.  We drove there and picked her up.  "Lots of trouble for a cat! and expense" ... various people said.  "Why didn't you just go pick up a kitten at Pet Smart?" others said.  One very brutal man from bridge center where I was playing at time mockingly said, "I have alley with bunches of cats.  She could have gotten one from there for free."  Most people didn't say these things to me but mockingly said them to other people who told me what they said.   These people were wise in their own eyes and by mocking me they felt themselves even wiser and considered me foolish.  But I was established by God in this matter.  It was God showing me what to do and I did it.  When you are established by God this way the gates of hell will not be able to stand against you.

Mt. 28 ... And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, 40And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross. 41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, 42He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. 43He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said,  I am the Son of God. 44 The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth...

Jesus knew this was the will of God for HIM and that is what mattered ... THE WILL OF GOD ...

Whether it is a big thing or a little thing, when we are established by God, shown by God what to do, and do that, we may be mocked by "wise" men and "wise" women but all that really matters is following directions from God.  I doubt that we can be shaken when we are established by God and keep our focus on that which God has shown us.

Prov. 3 ... Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; (Trust in that which God has told you)
and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6In all thy ways acknowledge him,(Pray, asking God what to do) and he shall direct thy paths.
7Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

I am often mocked concerning my house.  "You don't need this much house."  "You have more house than you need."  My cleaning woman smugly said this.  The acquaintance I go to lunch with said something similar showing how foolish I am to live in this house.  My neighbor who says he is an elder in the church mocked me over this house.  They are wise in their own eyes.  They do not realize God showed me to build this house.  God gave me dream showing me exact place to build.  God led in how to build this house.  I didn't build this in my own wisdom.  Each time I am mocked, I remember how God led me in this house building.

When you follow God, people will mock you in what you do.  And often someone will tell you what the person said and it will hurt your flesh.  But when you are established that God showed you to do this, you have an anchor for the soul.

Mt. 11 ... For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil. 19The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

But those who are of God glorify God in the mercy HE had on you in giving you these things.

(The house I live in on this earth is nothing compared to that house prepared for me in heaven.  God gave me a dream to show me that house.  It was wonderful, like a palace.  Very tall ceilings.  Very big rooms.  Parts of the flooring had gold stripes running through the materials.  And there was no end to the rooms.  I just kept discovering new rooms in my house there.)

Matthew 24:12-13 ... Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Matthew 24:12-13 ... And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

I see iniquity in people everywhere I go ... the grocery checker ... the bank teller ... the owner of the garage that deals in car inspection ... the worker at the drive in window ... the owner of the TV shop ... TV shows and their announcers  ... in pastors at churches  (please read:  Evil from pastors)

The iniquity surfaces in them when they speak.  It is amazing.  More times than not iniquity surfaces when they speak.  Certainly iniquity is abounding today.

iniquity means:  unjust behaviors or incorrect comments ... immoral comments or acts ... desire toward evil ...

Often it shows itself to me as persons try to exalt themselves (and others) by their own wisdom or acts.

Recently a woman told me of the "good" she and her organization were doing.  As she spoke, I thought of how she didn't know Eve and the serpent.  Eve thought by eating that fruit she would do a good thing for the serpent told her it would be good.  But when Eve ate and gave Adam to eat, God put them out of the garden of Eden.  The devil told Eve if she ate, she would be "as gods" knowing good from evil, being wise as God.  Eve wanted to be wise.  It seemed like a good thing to be wise.  The woman talking to me kept saying how good this fund raising was.  I just began saying, "God help me ... God help me ... God help me."  I knew I was very close to "telling her off" and I knew that would do no good at all.  God either saves a person or doesn't.  I can't do it.  God enabled me to hold my tongue and say nothing.

One of my former bridge partner's died this week.  A woman spoke of her with great praise.  I was not impressed for I know what matters is that which God has to say about a person.  Another woman offered to bring me the obituary from newspaper.  I told her not to do that.  I don't like those for again they only tell what humans say and that doesn't matter.  The only thing that matters is what God thinks about this woman and about each one of us.

A man came to my house to check my TV which had gone totally black.  As he spoke, he mentioned something about Las Vegas in a loving way.  I knew the evil in him by this.

I was getting car inspection sticker recently.  There was a young woman (in 20's) waiting to get her car inspected.  The owner of the shop was at the desk and he was paying a great deal of attention to this young woman.  When I spoke he put his head down and did something on his computer not wanting to have anything to do with me.  But with this young woman he spoke in an exceedingly friendly manner.  And at one point he asked her if she was planning to have children.  She began explaining to him that she and husband had only been married a year and husband was in medical school and they weren't ready.  After I left that shop, I realized this shop owner had no business asking her that question and that he was a lascivious man.

I went to pick up a take out dinner.  The woman at cash register noticed my credit card which I have attached to my car keys.  I told her the bank used to issue a mini card but they no longer do that so I take ice pick and put hole in my card and attach it to key ring.  She replied:  "People steal the mini cards."  (She desired to be wise for people also steal the regular cards when they can.)

Another food pick up example ... as I waited for the food, a young woman worker began talking.  She talked loving of "her boy friend" ... I began to realize she was not married but living with him ... and she was flaunting her sin in front of me though she did not see this as sin for if she had seen it as sin she would have been ashamed.

I was watching on TV a college sport event.  There were two announcers commenting as the event proceeded.  One announcer was so evil, boasting great things, as if he knew everything.  I would have to turn off the sound when he spoke because there was such flaunting of iniquity.  I often have to turn TV off because of iniquity that comes forth .  The iniquity from this announcer seemed to me even more blatant than I've heard from other announcers.  It reminded me of that evil spirit that was in the TV man and the car shop owner.  Flaunting themselves greatly without shame.

Jesus said iniquity would abound toward the end.  Paul said it would be "perilous" in the end time.  The peril is the iniquity in the hearts of humans.

II Tim. 3 ... 1This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,  4Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

...  7Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

... 13But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

(We should be able to recognize that Paul is not just speaking of iniquity in the world.  Paul is speaking of iniquity in the church groups for Paul says they will have "a form of godliness")

Almost ever time I leave my house and go to grocery or do other simple errands in world, I witness iniquity in humans by their speech.  I often come away grieved.  I endure and overcome by turning to God in prayer asking HIM to restore my soul from them ... and HE does.

When I was a new Christian, as I slept in the night, I was transported into heaven and at that time "merged" into the body of Jesus.  I was with God, with Jesus, with the Holy Spirit although I saw no physical image.  It was a spiritual experience.  A few days later as I slept in the night the exact same thing happened again.

I have noticed lately that I want more than ever to witness Jesus ... I just keep reading over and over Mt., Mk., Lk., Jn. ... seeing Jesus doing various things when HE walked on this earth.  It is the way a woman loves to watch her husband.  This is how I feel more and more.  I think of being taken into heaven.  And being made one with the Word of God.  And I receive great comfort by reading the reports of Jesus.

Of course we see Jesus in the work of Paul and others and in all the other books of the Bible too and I also read these.

I've noticed increase in iniquity.  All we have to do is see the difference in TV between earlier decades and today and we see increase iniquity.  That is because the end grows closer.

Women speaking at church?

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

When it was clear to me that God had called me to be a minister, I said to God:  "Then You are going to have to explain the following scripture to me."

I Cor. 14 ... Paul says concerning the gathering of the church ...  34Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. 35And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

After asking God to explain this to me, I had the following impression:  "Look at what these women were doing."

Then when I looked again at I Cor. 14, I realized these woman were "asking questions" ... thus interrupting the flow of the Spirit of God which would certainly have been inappropriate at church and would have to be stopped.

One time I visited a non-denominational church group.  As pastor spoke, one woman, in the group jumped up and began running around the room with hands in the air.  The people in the group and pastor laughed as if this was of Holy Spirit.  I was horrified.  I knew this was not Holy Spirit.  Some people seem to think Holy Spirit is crazy.  That is not true.  holy Spirit teaches us.  And Paul warned us that in the gathering of the church all things must be done to edification.  This woman's actions were in no way edifying to the church.  I did not return to that group.

Eccl. 3:1-8 ... Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 ... To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

 Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

There is a woman who was in our little church group who often failed to see the time ... God would speak something and she would wait ... Then later (after that season was past) she would think she could do the "work", but the time was over.

Timing is very important ... as we have opportunity, we speak and act, not really trying to speak or act but by the will of God we speak when HE gives us something.  If we hold back, we might not be able to do it later.  If it is from the Spirit of God we simply yield to His Spirit at that time.

Again, I never try to do something of God ... but when it is there and of God, I speak and act then, ceasing the opportunity as it is presented by God.

There is an example in OT where God told them to go up and fight but they held back.  Later they decided to go up.  Joshua told them not to go, the time was over, God was no longer with them.  But they went up anyway and were defeated.  They failed to recognize the importance of the time and season appointed by God and they moved by their own evil wisdom.  This is fatal.

There have been times when a devil imitates God and tries to get me to act but I suspect the voice and when I try the spirit to see if it is of God, I hear, "No."  It is a devil trying to get me to do something.

Please read:  How to try the spirit to see if it is of God

What is the sermon for tomorrow?

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

When I drive down 82nt St. in Lubbock I pass a Methodist church.  They have a billboard in front of their building and they list on that billboard the topic for the next sermon.  I always wonder how they know.

The way God taught me is as follows:  "Speak what I give you at that time".

Lk. 21 ... 14Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: 15For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

When I had meetings for radio audience or when I spoke to congregation at a church, I usually had no idea at all what I was going to speak before speaking.  I walked out on the stage and God would remind me of a dream, or a scripture, or a story ... and I would speak that.  Then I would be reminded of something else and I would speak that.  Then something else ... This was God meeting the needs of the people by HIS Spirit in the congregation that day.  I had no idea what the people needed to hear but God did.  I depended on God.  This is how God taught me in being led by the Spirit.  This is what I did and what I still do when I speak or write.

Jn. 14:26 ... But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

The Holy Spirit searches the heart of God and brings to our mind that which HE hears from God.

I Cor. 2 ... for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

The Spirit of God searches the heart of God to reveal to us that which God would say.   It is brought to our mind in the form of a thought.  We simply think that.  But God has never said to me, "On Sunday morning I am going to speak such & such."  This is fleshly foolishness to think this way.

Jesus spoke what HE heard from God, the Father.  He always did this.  He just went about speaking what HE heard from God at the time.  And we should do the same.  If we try to plan ahead what we are going to say it will be of our flesh, of our own thinking.  And the flesh will profit nothing.

But if we speak what the Spirit brings to mind, it will work the work of God.  And we will be speaking by faith in God.

The following scriptures were used by God to teach me these things.

Mt. 5:30 .. Jesus said ... I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

I Cor. 2 ... And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:  5That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

And I write the same way ... I write what I hear.

Several years ago, when I was first born again, a professor from Dallas Theological Seminary asked me if I would come work with his young men on presentation.  He said these young men were so boring when they spoke.

The problem was they were trying to think up things to speak rather than following the Spirit of God.

Dream sent by member of body of Christ

Juliett Walton

This is a dream I had in the 1970's.  I did not write it down but I remember it.

Here is a little background.  When I was a child and had just started walking, I was staying with my aunt. I reached up unknowingly and pulled a container of boiling water off the stove and was badly burned on my left arm.  I was immediately put into the hospital.  Eventually I was well enough to come home after the doctor released me.  This scar has been with me all my life. I don't have any pain or limited restriction of this arm.  I forget about this scar until I see it.  The scar is visible and the burned area starts at the front of my elbow and extends in back of my arm towards my underarm . When summer comes, I usually don't wear anything without sleeves in public because the scar is so visible and there is sometimes a question..... what happened?  After I grew up I went to see if something could be done to remove the scar or make that area look better.  There was nothing, that could be done so I eventually forgot about it.

Here is the dream.  I was young, not a child and not old.  It was as if I was in "My Heavenly Father's Kingdom"  I was running, jumping and twirling around.  I was full of energy and full of joy. There was nothing there to harm me.  I was wearing a white dress. The dress was sleeveless and there was no scar.

When I think of this dream I see it as the scars of this life are gone...... and there is pure joy there.  In heaven we won't remember this life on earth.  We will have a new body.  We cannot do anything to make ourselves perfect.  Our perfection is through Jesus Christ who sacrificed His life for us that we may be made acceptable to God.

Psalm 112:7 ... Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Psalm 112:7 ... He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

When your heart has been established by God concerning an issue of this life, your heart is "fixed" ... It changes everything.

When we have a threatening fear, and we take that fear to God in prayer, and HE gives us something to show us that fear will not come upon us, it makes all the difference.

At one point, I had a bad report from an eye doctor and I became terrified because of that report.

I strongly turned to God.  And HE reminded me of something and by that remembrance He convinced me that I would be fine concerning my vision.

Shortly after that, my hairdresser said:  "What if you couldn't see to drive?"  I replied:  "That would be a problem."  But after I left her shop, I realized I was not afraid.  Usually such words would cause me to be fearful.  What happened?  And God reminded me of how he had established me concerning that subject.  And because HE had already established me I didn't have that fear that would have usually come by words such as those spoken by my hairdresser.

Establlishing the word of God

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Recently I was talking to Pam Padgett and I told her how much it meant to me when she wrote a story of how she was at work at Fed Ex the day the planes crashed into World Trade Centers and how she would have been afraid except for fact that God had shown me this in dreams and I had shared those dreams with church.  That caused her not to be afraid.

I had wondered why God would have given me those dreams and now I saw one reason.  When we know something is coming this way, then we are not as shocked as the people of the world for God has shown us this will happen.

For example:  The day will come when the sky turns completely black and the heavens start passing away.  The world will have no idea what is happening.  But we, who are of God, will know if we know Bible for God tells us in Bible this will happen.  II Peter 3 ... the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

We don't worry about such things as the world.  They worry about "Greenhouse effect" ... they worry about ozone layer.  I don't even know what these things are but I do know how the earth will be destroyed and it will not be by man but by God.  (By Bible we also know God will not destroy earth by rain.  Gen. 8-9)

So I saw, after Pam told her Fed Ex story, that when God shows us something and we share it, that story can help others in body of Christ to not be afraid.

After sharing with Pam the connection I made because of her story, she was bewildered and said:  "But I've told that story before."

As I thought about this, I was reminded of the following words spoken by the apostle Paul.

II Cor. 13:1 ...This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.

Paul said as he told the story two or three times, every word will be established.

We follow the Holy Spirit by speaking that which God calls to our mind.

When I am reminded of something, I try to speak it or write it.  I don't care if I've told it before.  The repetition of the word of God causes it to be "established" in our hearts.

Joshua 1:8 ... This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

By keeping that word or scripture spoken by Holy Spirit in front of us day and night for a season we have a type of strength develop inside us which enables us to "do according to all that is written therein".

Romans 8:28 ... Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Romans 8:28 ... And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Often I will hear people of this world say ... "Everything happens for the best ..."  I know somehow they have heard the above scripture.  But I also know this promise of God is for "them that love God, to them who are the called according to HIS purpose."

God allowed Herod to behead John the Baptist.  Mt. 14

God allowed them to kill Stephen with stones.  Acts 7:57-60

God allowed Jesus to go to a cross and die ... because it was the will of God that Jesus die for our sins.

I've heard unknowing people say, "God would never allow that to happen to me."

But I know that God does according to HIS own will ... and only when I turn to God in a threatening matter and ask HIM and hear from HIM by HIS Spirit do I really know what God will allow and what will happen to me.

But even when God allows something to happen I still know that all things will work for good because I belong to God and those things will cause me to be conformed to the image of Christ.

Following friends to church

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

After I was born again, someone came to me and told me I had to attend church.

I replied:  "I do?"

=========

Certainly God had not told me to do this.  But I was about 37 at the time I was born again and everyone in churches was more experienced that I was so I went to the church this friend was attending.

The pastor was doing a series of "lectures" on speaking in tongues and how tongues were of the devil.

I really didn't care anything about the subject of speaking in tongues one way or another.  I was bored when I went to these services but I went to them.  I don't remember anything about them except that church leadership was against tongues.

At one point while attending this church I saw the following scripture James 5 ... 14Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

I had gotten sick so I called the church office and told them I was sick and I needed to meet with the elders of the church as per James 5 and have them pray over me and anoint me with oil.  There was dead silence on the other end of the line.  Later the church secretary called me and told me she had passed my request on to the leadership of the church and she said in about 2 weeks the elders were going to have a meeting and they would discuss my case. (I could have been dead by then.)  This church was a fundamental Bible church from Dallas Theological Seminary.  It was a church in doctrine somewhere between Baptist and Church of Christ. I never heard from them again. A few days after calling them, I got well.  God raised me up.

Then one day I was reading the Bible.  I saw the following concerning what we are to do when we gather as the church.

Paul said:  I Cor. 14 ... 26How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. 27If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.  28But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God. 29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge. 30If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace. 31For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted. 32And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. 33For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
34Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. 35And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
36What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only? 37If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. 38But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. 39Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. 40Let all things be done decently and in order.

I really didn't care a hoot about tongues at that time one way or another ... But I very much cared about what the Bible said.

Here I was attending a church which taught tongues were of the devil and Paul was saying in the Bible forbid not to speak with tongues.

I certainly wasn't going to attend a church where they taught something opposite to the Bible so I left that church immediately and never went back.

One day, I was riding in a car with my best friend who attended that church and told me I had to attend a church.  I said to Donna, "OH by the way ... did you know Paul said "forbid not to speak with tongues" ?

Donna replied:  :"What?"

I had a small Bible of NT which I kept in my purse.  Donna pulled the car to the side of the road and said:  "Let me see that ..."

I showed it to her.  I was using the King James Version of the Bible.

Donna said:  "Let's go to my house and look it up in other translations of the Bible."  (she had several different translations at her house)

It was the same in every translation of the Bible

I said:  "I'm not going to that church anymore."

Donna said she wasn't either.

I think her husband might have been a little upset but she stopped going to that church that taught against tongues.

==========

After that, I followed another friend to Beverly Hills Baptist church.  (This friend was considered by our prayer group to be very spiritual.)  That church was a "charismatic" Baptist church.  I don't recall anyone speaking in a tongues but they didn't speak against it.  It was a very big church ... over 3000 members ...

At one point, I went to visit with the pastor.  I can't recall exactly what I asked him but I do recall his shocked reply:  He said:  "You'd have to be a spiritual giant to do that."  (I was doing "that" all the time, about like breathing in an out.  It seemed automatic to me.)

I don't recall anything else about that church.

============

After that my friend who seemed spiritual to everyone in the prayer group, switched to a faith movement church called Word of Faith.  Robert Tilton was the pastor.  (If you want a real jolt, type Robert Tilton in Google and read the Wickipedia article.)

Bob was kind of a salesman type person ... very handsome ... wonderful "fun" personality ... pretty country type ...(not the type of person I was used to) ...

During the services Bob often spoke a doctrine concerning prosperity and how we could gain prosperity.  I felt it didn't pertain to me but he was speaking some scripture during his sermons so I decided I could copy down the scripture and study those when I got home.  I never missed a service.  I went Sunday morning, Sunday evening, Wednesday evenings, and to all special services.  They had many "special" services with visiting speakers.  I don't remember anything any of these special speakers said.  But I did continue to copy scriptures they quoted and study those scriptures.

During that time, God gave me a dream ... it was about poison gas ...

God showed me that in this dream HE was showing me what is going on in the churches.

I still didn't see anything wrong at Word of Faith.

Then one Wednesday night, Bob was speaking as usual and I looked at the man sitting next to me and he looked like a corpse.  I looked about the room and the other people looked dead to me. (They looked exactly like the dead people in that poison gas dream.)

I got up and went to rest room and began talking to God.  I said to God:  "I think you are telling me to leave this church group.  I'm going to drive away.  But if You want me to return, I'll come back."

After I left God began showing me some of the doctrine professed by that faith movement.  First HE showed me the following.  They taught that all good is from God and all bad is from the devil.  Sounds right.  But then God took me to the following scripture:  Jesus was hanging on a cross.  Jesus gave up the ghost.  After that there was an earthquake:  Mt 27 ... 54Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

Earthquakes destroy property.  Earthquakes are "bad" ... right?  But doesn't God send earthquakes ... and hail ... and wind ... and tornadoes ... Then how can this be that they are "bad" when God is the author?

Didn't the centurion and they that were watching Jesus turn to God after they saw the earthquake.  That is what it seems to say in Mt. 27.

So how can the earthquake be bad?

With that, God began unraveling the faith movement doctrine and I came to see the teaching was basically that all good is from God and all bad is from devil and we as believers have authority over the devil.   First there is the assumption that we as human can tell what is good and what is bad.

Next, concerning having authority over such things as storms, (which was being taught at the Faith Movement church that I attended) I began to wonder how it was that a storm could hit when all these big faith movement people had authority over such.  And if their faith is so great, why didn't they stop it?

Unknown to me at the time, my "spiritual" friend that I had followed to that faith movement church had left.  And our Sunday school teacher at that church, Don Gelino, had left.  At one point I spoke with Don.  I said: "I didn't know I was different from them... I always thought I was like them."  (Except I didn't care for that prosperity message and it never seemed to pertain to me.)

Don replied:  "Joan ... you were never like them."

I said:  "I wasn't?"

My "spiritual friend" said she was worse off when she left that church than she was when she came to it.

During the time I was attending that faith movement church I had another bit of insight.

We had a very bad ice storm in Dallas.  I couldn't get to church.  So I walked to Highland Park Methodist Church which was a little over a block from my apartment.  As I walked there, I noticed the cars that obviously belonged to the people that attended Highland Park Methodist Church.  There were numerous expensive cars... Mercedes, BMW, Cadillacs ... I thought, "How can this be?"  Those people don't know anything about God, yet they were obviously so rich.  While  many of the faith movement people seemed to be so poor.  The prosperity message likely appealed to poorer people since there was a prospect of becoming rich in material goods. (fulfilling covetousness)  This all seemed very strange to me.

In the meantime, I find more and more money coming to me and more things around me than I've ever had ... but I'm not trying to get more money or things and I wasn't applying the faith movement message on prosperity, yet I kept prospering.

But what I was doing ever since being born were the following scriptures ...

Psalm 1 ... 1Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.  2But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Joshua 1:8 ...  8This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Along the way, Don had noticed this.  He said they talked about faith but the one he thought who really had faith and lived it was me.  All I was doing was believing the Bible, keeping the Word of God before me day and night, doing what the scripture brought to my mind said to do ... and continuing to do this.

Several months before I had left Word of Faith, God had made it clear to me that I was called and set in the body of Christ as apostle/prophet.  (Eph. 4) ... And in the night, what I believed to be an angel of God spoke three words to me:  "Hartford, Seattle, KWJS" ... and I ended up doing exhortations on a radio broadcast (KWJS) 5 days a week/30 min. per day.  And I had a great many people seeking me out as a result of those teachings on radio.

God had given me a gift of exhortation for the church and had taught me not to plan out anything but rather just to turn on the recorder and speak what I heard from HIM and broadcast that.  And that is what I did and that is what I still do when I write (or speak).  I just write those things brought to my mind believing it is Holy Spirit reminding me since that is one of things Holy Spirit does.  (Jn. 14:26)   I never plan anything ahead of time.  I do read Bible and try to meditate on that spoken to me by the Holy Spirit.  Then whatever God draws out of me I speak and write.  It is very easy and very simple.

(And a few days after I was born again I was transported into heaven twice as I slept in the night and both times the same thing happened.  I knew I was with God, with Christ, and with the Holy Spirit.  I was "merged " into the body of Jesus ... made one with the Word of God ... as God and the Holy Spirit witnessed.  It was wonderful! and this was probably a part of preparing me for the work of the ministry to which I was called by God.)

=============

So I followed friends to church and to a prayer group but God never told me to go to any church.  And after God brought me out of Word of Faith I expected God to put me into another group and He did not.  Yet the church was my life.  I was always there after I was born again until I was taken out by God.  Today I understand that we are the church.

Psalm 42:11 ... Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Psalm 42:11 ... Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God:for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Our hope is in God who created heaven and earth.  When we belong to HIM, we might temporarily be afraid or downcast but when we regain our senses and focus on HIM, we are restored by HIM.

A woman once told me she had a dream where she missed her mother so much she could almost reach out and feel the hurt.

I thought about her being concerned about this fleshly thing.  What should concern us is being separated from God.  HE should be our desire.

And I recalled what Paul said ... Romans 8 ... 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36As it is written,  For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I don't believe the woman who told me her desire toward her mother belongs to God.

Trying to attend another Assembly of God church group

Joan Boney ... apostle/ prophet

It was a Wednesday night and I decided to visit another Assembly of God church group.  That night there were 150-200 people in congregation and pastor was speaking to the group.

Pastor started speaking about Jimmy Swaggart and the scandal where Swaggart was found with prostitute.

Pastor said:  "We should pray for brother Swaggart."

In a very soft voice, I said:  "He should be put out of the church."

The woman sitting in front of me apparently heard what I said though it was very soft.  She turned and glared at me.

What Paul said to do when a "brother" is a fornicator ...

I Cor. 5 ...1It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife. 2And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. 3For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,  4In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. 6Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
7Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:  8Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: 10Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. 11But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. 12For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?  13But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Paul didn't say to pray for such a "brother" ... nor did Paul say for us to counsel such.

Paul said:  put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

A few weeks after Swaggart cried on TV and said he had sinned and asked for forgiveness, he was caught with another prostitute.  This time when the policeman stopped him with the prostitute in the car, Swaggart said:  "It's flat out none of your business."  (Report from Wickipedia)

I didn't return to that Assembly of God church again.

God is able to get our attention

Pam Padgett ... teacher

One afternoon a couple years ago I was planning to go for a ride on my bicycle.  While in the garage to get the bicycle, I kept having the thought that I needed to go see if my elderly neighbor's trash can was still at the end of his driveway.  (This neighbor is a widower who lives by himself.)  Although it seemed a little strange to check on the neighbor's trash can, I thought it was the Holy Spirit bringing this thought so I went to look and noticed that the trash can was still in the driveway.  This was unexpected because this neighbor usually put his trash can in his garage as soon as it was emptied by the trash company in the morning.  I  walked over to his driveway and noticed also that his newspapers hadn't been picked up yet.  This, again, was very unusual.

This neighbor is hard of hearing and doesn't hear the doorbell, but is able to hear his telephone, so I went back to my house thinking I might call him to check on him.  However, I started wondering if I might be over-reacting, that maybe he'd had appointments that day and just hadn't gotten home yet.  I thought it might be best to wait a couple hours and then call.  But a thought which I believed was from the Holy Spirit said that it wouldn't do any good to wait.  I believed I was being led by the Holy Spirit to take action right then.  I try to call him on the telephone, but there was no answer.  I had a key to this neighbor's house, so took it and let myself into his house.  I called out loudly in case he was home to let him know I was coming into the house.  A very weak voice responded "Help me"

I found the neighbor lying on the kitchen floor.  He had fallen more than 20 hours earlier, was unable to get up and unable to reach the telephone.  After finding him and calling for an ambulance, he was taken to the hospital with several injuries.

This neighbor had no way to communicate with people, but God knew what had happened.  And God was able to get my attention and lead me in finding this neighbor.  All things are possible with God.

Proverbs 4:11 ... Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Proverbs 4:11 ... I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

When God is in charge of us and we hear from HIM, we hear wisdom ... and HIS ways are always right paths ... according to HIS will.

But HIS ways are not always our ways.  His ways are higher than our ways.  Isaiah 55:8-9

Job 13:15 ... Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him:

Trying to attend an Assembly of God group

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

At one point in hunting a church group to attend I decided to go to a small Assembly of God group.  But before going I called the pastor and met with him.  I can't recall anything either of us said.

On that morning after meeting with the pastor, I did attend his group.  Pastor was so terrified of me that I could tell he was afraid to speak.  He just read from a prepared sheet of paper and quoted scripture.  I felt pastor was trying to play it safe.  But in doing such, you leave faith in God and quench the Spirit of God.

On the wall of the assembly room, there was hanging a picture of a long haired man.  It is that picture that many use and call "Jesus".  It is not a picture of Jesus.  There are no photos of Jesus.  There were no cameras at that time.  It is just a human pretending to be Jesus.

I did call this pastor and told him it would be good to take down this photo for it is a form of "graven image" and it is also false since there were no cameras in Jesus' day.  I don't recall pastor responding.

As I started to write this, I heard "graven image" ... I brought some of these scriptures up on my computer and I began to laugh when I started reading this list.

Deut.

It is not a good idea to hang graven images on your wall or keep graven images statues on your porch.  (or in your heart)
