Luke 21 ... Reading through the Bible

1 And he (Jesus) looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. 2 And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. 3 And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:  4 For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.

5 And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said, 6 As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences;

and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. 13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: 15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. 17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish. 19 In your patience possess ye your souls.

20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. 21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. 22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. 24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; 30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. 32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

37 And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives. 38 And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.

Jeremiah 5 ... Viewing the works of God through scripture

1 Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it.

2 And though they say, The Lord liveth; surely they swear falsely.

3 O Lord, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction:they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.

4 Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish:for they know not the way of the Lord, nor the judgment of their God.

5 I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the Lord, and the judgment of their God:but these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds. 6 Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities:every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces:because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased.

7 How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods:when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots 'houses.

8 They were as fed horses in the morning:every one neighed after his neighbour's wife. 9 Shall I not visit (judge) for these things? saith the Lord:and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

10 Go ye up upon her walls, and destroy; but make not a full end:take away her battlements; for they are not the Lord' s.

11 For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against me, saith the Lord.

12 They have belied the Lord, and said, It is not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:

13 And the prophets shall become wind, and the word is not in them:thus shall it be done unto them.

14 Wherefore thus saith the Lord God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.

15 Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith the Lord:it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say.

16 Their quiver is as an open sepulchre, they are all mighty men.

17 And they shall eat up thine harvest, and thy bread, which thy sons and thy daughters should eat:they shall eat up thy flocks and thine herds:they shall eat up thy vines and thy fig trees:they shall impoverish thy fenced cities, wherein thou trustedst, with the sword. 18 Nevertheless in those days, saith the Lord, I will not make a full end with you.

19 And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the Lord our God all these things unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not yours.

20 Declare this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying, 21 Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:

22 Fear ye not me? saith the Lord:will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it:and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

23 But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.

24 Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the Lord our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season:he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.

25 Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you

26 For among my people are found wicked men:they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men. 27 As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit:therefore they are become great, and waxen rich. 28 They are waxen fat, they shine:yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked:

they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.

29 Shall I not visit (judge) for these things? saith the Lord:shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

30 A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; 31 The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so:and what will ye do in the end thereof?

Comments by Joan Boney

I see this in our church groups today:

30 A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; 31 The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so:and what will ye do in the end thereof?

As the ministers do many wicked things to the Holy Scriptures, as they pervert the Word of God, the people sit there in the congregation with big smiles on their faces, loving to have it so ...

Here is a dream God gave me concerning the churches today:

In this dream, I went into a room where a meeting was going on.  There was one vacant seat on the aisle and I sat down and began listening to a man who was speaking to the group.  Another man rushed and went to the front of the room and said, "Stop ... wait ... can't you see ... It's too late!  It's already begun."The first man resumed speaking to the group.

I looked out the window and was shocked at what I saw.

There was a tall, civil defense type pole with a yellow warning speaker on top of the pole.  Out of the speaker was coming a poison gas.  I knew it would kill the people and shockingly the gas was coming from our own speaker which was supposed to warn us.

I looked at the man who was sitting next to me.  He was sitting upright.  He had a big smile on his face.  He was looking directly at the speaker in an attentive way.  But this man was a corpse.  He was dead though he looked alive.

Then I looked at people around the room and they were already dead also.

And as I sat back in my seat, I felt myself falling asleep, dying as I listened to the speaker.

As I have visited various church groups, I have witnessed this over and over.  The pastors speak perverse things, even twisting the scripture to their own destruction and to the destruction of the people who "happily sit" in the congregations.  No one seeks truth but they are happy in lies and praise the speaker of lies.

Once I visited a church group where the pastor was teaching from John 8, concerning the woman taken in adultery.  He said, "And when the woman taken in adultery was brought before Jesus she was naked from her waist up."  I was shocked!  The people in the congregation just smiled.  I saw no one reach for a Bible to check John 8 for truth.  They just sat there smiling as the pastor spoke.  (This is the poison gas dream where the speaker is killing the people in the congregation with the poison gas that comes from his own mouth... And Jeremiah says:   and My people love to have it so:)

Over and over, I visited churches and heard pastors speaking things which are not true and saw entire congregation sitting there doing nothing at all about the lies that were coming forth ... they just sat smiling ... they were already dead.

During these years, I went to each pastor I heard speaking wrong things and talked to each pastor in private.  Not one repented.  Not one expressed sorrow.  Each pastor struck out at me.

But the people in each group just praised the lying pastor.

I can identify with everything Jeremiah wrote for I have seen it today in the churches ... and at some point God will visit (judge) these pastors and the congregations who worship these pastors who speak lies and twist the Word of God to suit themselves and to suit their hearers for the people love to have it so ...

Building Your House On The Word Of God

Book 10

Building Your House
On The Word Of God

Jesus says:

Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word that proceedeth from the mouth of God.
Matthew 4:4

God speaks through scripture … but God also speaks to us through dreams, through thoughts given by Holy Spirit, through other people who carry a word to us from God, and by angels who can speak through dreams to us and also can shout into our ear words from God like a voice of a trumpet.

All of God’s words are equal in power and strength, whether a scripture or dream. The power is not in how the word is delivered. The power of God is the word itself.

We must live by every word that comes from God.

The purpose of this book is to awaken us to the voice of God, whether it is carried by scripture, by dreams, by another person, by a thought brought directly to our mind, or by an angel.

Our desire should be to build our house on the Word of God ... that house will stand the storms of this life.

Jesus says:

Mt. 7 ... 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not:for it was founded upon a rock.

26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. 28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: 29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

Building Your House on the Word of God is a very wise direction to go ... this is the goal of this book.

Joan Boney

Where is that in the Bible?

Many people who are really Christians, born again, people who even have the Spirit of God, do not build their house on the Word of God.

Many Christians take in sayings of this world and even superstitions and quote such to other people and live by these worldly sayings.

This is not a secure way for Christians to go.

The only secure way is to build our house on the Word of God and to refuse old wives tales and worldly sayings when such is not scriptural.

I want to build my house on the Word of God … I want to reject all else …

A woman used to call me every week or so and ask me to go to lunch with her. This woman identified herself as a Christian although I knew she did not have the Spirit of God in her. She was very religious, going to her church weekly.

But she lived by superstitions and often quoted such to me as we drove along the highway. Each time she would say a superstition of man, I would reply, “That’s not in the Bible.”

She replied in anger: “I know that …”

(But she didn’t know that. The church she attended, Catholic, did not encourage the congregation to read the Bible. Some Catholic churches even teach their people they should not read the Bible. They teach that only the priests of the Catholic church are capable of reading Bible.)

II Tim. 3 … 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

I began speaking Bible to this woman and telling what God was doing in my life. I could tell she wanted to make it seem that I was doing that which she saw accomplished but each time she tried to do this I would stop her and say, “No … God showed me to do this.”

I once went to Barnes and Noble book store to see if the following scripture was in the Catholic Bible …

Mt. 23:9, Jesus said … And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

Amazingly that verse is in the Catholic Bible!

This woman was out of town but I sent her an email, giving her this scripture and warning her about calling a person in church “Father”.

I didn’t hear anything from her for about 3 weeks. Then I received an email from her “thanking me” for the message.

But I knew she didn’t receive what I said and I knew she rejected the scripture because she continued in the Catholic church and strongly professed herself to be Catholic and I’m sure she continued to call Catholic priests, “Father.”

God gave me the following dream about this woman. She was on an overpass, the kind of walkway over train tracks. She was in the middle of the walk way. I was watching her from below. She began to go down the other side of the overpass and on the way down, she fell. She was lying on the ground. In the background, a church was on fire. Fire was exploding from the roof of the building and out of the windows on both sides. Firemen were rushing to the building to try to put out the fire but there was no way this church building would be saved.

Each time I said to her, “That’s not in the Bible,” I was saying: I want to build my house on that which is in the Bible.

Luke 20 ... Reading through the Bible

1 And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders, 2 And spake unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority?  3 And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me:  4 The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men?  5 And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not? 6 But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet. 7 And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was. 8 And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

9 Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time. 10 And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty.

11 And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and entreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.

12 And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out.

13 Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him. 14 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours. 15 So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him.

What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them? 16 He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.

17 And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner? 18 Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

19 And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.

20 And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor. 21 And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly: 22 Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar, or no?

23 But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt ye me? 24 Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Caesar's.

25 And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's.

26 And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.

27 Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him, 28 Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man's brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. 29 There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children. 30 And the second took her to wife, and he died childless. 31 And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died. 32 Last of all the woman died also. 33 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.

34 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: 35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:

36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.

37 Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. 38 For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.

39 Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, thou hast well said. 40 And after that they durst not ask him any question at all.

41 And he
(Jesus) said unto them, How say they that Christ is David's son? 42 And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, 43 Till I make thine enemies thy footstool. 44 David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son?

45 Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples, 46 Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts; 47 Which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.

Jeremiah 4 ... Viewing the works of God through scripture

1 If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the Lord, return unto me:and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove. 2 And thou shalt swear, The Lord liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.

3 For thus saith the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.

4 Circumcise yourselves to the Lord, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem:lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

5 Declare ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow ye the trumpet in the land:cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defenced cities. 6 Set up the standard toward Zion:retire, stay not:for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.

7 The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant. 8 For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and howl:for the fierce anger of the Lord is not turned back from us.

9 And it shall come to pass at that day, saith the Lord, that the heart of the king shall perish, and the heart of the princes; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder.

10 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul. 11 At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem,
A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people,
not to fan, nor to cleanse,
12 Even a full wind from those places shall come unto me:
now also will I give sentence against them.

13 Behold, he shall come up as clouds,
and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind:
his horses are swifter than eagles.
Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.

14 O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved.
How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?

15 For a voice declareth from Dan,
and publisheth affliction from mount Ephraim.
16 Make ye mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem,
that watchers come from a far country,
and give out their voice against the cities of Judah.

17 As keepers of a field, are they against her round about;
because she hath been rebellious against me, saith the Lord.

18 Thy way and thy doings have procured these things unto thee;
this is thy wickedness, because it is bitter,
because it reacheth unto thine heart.

19 My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart;
my heart maketh a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace,
because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.

20 Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled:
suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.

21 How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet?

22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me;
they are sottish children, and they have none understanding:
they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void;
and the heavens, and they had no light.
24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled,
and all the hills moved lightly.
25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man,
and all the birds of the heavens were fled.
26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness,
and all the cities thereof were broken down

at the presence of the Lord, and by his fierce anger.

27 For thus hath the Lord said,
The whole land shall be desolate;
yet will I not make a full end.
28 For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black:
because I have spoken it,
I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it.

29 The whole city shall flee for the noise of the horsemen and bowmen;
they shall go into thickets, and climb up upon the rocks:
every city shall be forsaken, and not a man dwell therein.

30 And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do?
Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold,
though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair;
thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life.

31 For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child,
the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands,
saying, Woe is me now! for my soul is wearied because of murderers.

Overcoming Through God: Chapter 8 / Book available at Amazon.com

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

We Are Well Able To Overcome

Caleb said ... Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome ... Num. 13:30

Look what God has given us to use in overcoming …

The Holy Spirit ...

- To teach us all things ...
- To remind us of everything the word says
- To guide us into all truth
- To show us things to come (Jn. 14:26 & Jn. 16:13)

The angels of the Lord ...

Psa. 91:11 ... For HE shall give HIS angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Jesus sits at right hand of God and intercedes for us ...
Romans 8:34...34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

The Holy Spirit intercedes for us according to the will of God in the matter at hand.
Romans 8:26-27...26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And HE that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because HE maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Promises from God in Bible ...
II Peter 1 ... According as HIS divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of HIS that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Plus we can pray directly to God and ask for help. And HE will not fail us.
Heb. 13:5... 5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

James 1:5 … If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

In the midst of the temptation, God makes a way of escape for us ...
I Cor. 10:13 ... There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Jesus said "none" can pluck us out of God's hand when we belong to HIM and follow HIM.
Jn. 10 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any pluck them out of MY hand. 29My Father, which gave them ME, is greater than all; and none is able to pluck them out of MY Father’s hand

God put HIS laws in our minds and wrote HIS laws on our heart. (new covenant)
Heb. 8 ... For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put MY laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to ME a people: 11And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know ME, from the least to the greatest. 12For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Is it any wonder that Paul said ... in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Romans 8:37

I would think it would be helpful to keep these scriptures before us for a while and keep looking at these truths to build ourselves up in the faith.

We might slip a little. But HE will pull us back up, especially when we cling to HIM and hold on to HIS promises and follow HIM.

The above scriptures should help greatly.

I can't stand the idea of the world overcoming me. That is out of order. That should not happen. We must not allow that to happen.

Like Caleb said,

Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome ... Num. 13:30

Luke 19 ... Reading through the Bible

1 And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. 2 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. 3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. 4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him:  for he was to pass that way.

5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. 6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.

7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.

8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. 9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

11 And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear. 12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. 13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.

15 And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. 16 Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. 17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

18 And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds. 19 And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.

20 And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: 21 For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.

22 And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow: 23 Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?

24 And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds. 25 (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.) 26 For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.

27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

28 And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem. 29 And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, 30 Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither. 31 And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him. 32 And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them. 33 And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt? 34 And they said, The Lord hath need of him.

35 And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon. 36 And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.

37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; 38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. 40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

41 And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, 42 Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. 43 For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, 44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

45 And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought; 46 Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.

47 And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him, 48 And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.

Jeremiah 3 ... Viewing the works of God through scripture

1 They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted

but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the Lord.

2 Lift up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where thou hast not been lien with. In the ways hast thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and thou hast polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness

3 Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a whore's forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.

4 Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth?

5 Will he reserve his anger for ever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, thou hast spoken and done evil things as thou couldest.

6 The Lord said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot. 7 And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it. 8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

9 And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.

(She made tree trunks and work of men's hands her God and failed to remember the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob who brought her out of Egypt... So it is today as the people who were once excited in God forget God as a wicked woman forgets the groom of her youth and follows after gods of her own making of this present world.)

10 And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith the Lord.

(She pretended to love God as she sat at church, but what she was thinking of as she sat there was her lover who was not her husband.)

11 And the Lord said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.

12 Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the Lord; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you:for I am merciful, saith the Lord, and I will not keep anger for ever.

13 Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the Lord thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the Lord.

14 Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord; for I am married unto you:and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. 16 And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the Lord, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the Lord:neither shall it come to mind:neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.

17 At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the Lord; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the Lord, to Jerusalem:neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.

18 In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.

19 But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me.

20 Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the Lord.

21 A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel:for they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the Lord their God.

22 Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the Lord our God.

23 Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains:truly in the Lord our God is the salvation of Israel.

24 For shame hath devoured the labour of our fathers from our youth; their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters. 25 We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covereth us:for we have sinned against the Lord our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even unto this day, and have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God.

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

The Work Must Be Authored By God

Jesus said:

Not every one that saith unto ME, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of MY Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to ME in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in THY name? and in THY name have cast out devils? and in THY name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Mt. 7:21-22

Many people do all manner of religious works which seem good … but unless God told them to do those works, those works are not good, they are works of their own fleshly minds, often authored by what they hear at church.

Only works authored by the Spirit of God are “good” works.

You can even try to do a scripture and have the work counted by God as evil.

The Spirit of God searches the heart of God to show us the will of God in the various matters of this present life.

I Cor. 13 … 1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

I am acquainted with a woman who is an heiress, having very large trust fund and much money … She gives to all manner of organizations. But she is one of the most scornful persons I have ever seen … speaking of how ridiculous others are and always saying, “Can you believe they would do this?” exalting herself.

God said to me this woman is “self-righteous.”

She attends a church but she is not born again.

She would be shocked to know that her many financial gifts will end up profiting her nothing… for she is un-charitable …

Charity is not exactly “love” as some translations of Bible would say. Often young women especially like to think of these scriptures in terms of romantic attachments.

But godly charity has to do with the withholding of various judgments, not exacting all that the evil doer should receive.

God had “charity”, mercy, to me for I was certainly in no way deserving of salvation. I was terrible before I was born again.

Paul says … Romans 9 … 6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: 7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. 8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

9 For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.

10 And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac; 11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) 12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. 13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. 15 For HE saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.

18 Therefore hath HE mercy on whom HE will have mercy, and whom HE will he hardeneth.

When we set about on a good work, we must have evidence inside us that God authored the work. This evidence of the Holy Spirit speaking telling us to do that work is an anchor for our soul in difficult times which are likely to come for the works sake, persecution for the word …

Concerning good works … one person could visit the sick and it be the right spirit leading him … another person could be led by his own mind because he thinks he must do this and it would avail nothing and might even be harmful to the sick person.

The work must be authored by God and you must be led by the Spirit of God in everything you do.

It is also very important for us to have assurance in us that God told us to do that work.

In January, 1980, I was asleep in the night and a trumpet like voice sounded in my ear saying 3 words to me … “Hartford, Seattle, KWJS …”

This put me on radio on station KWJS. Do I have strong assurance that God wanted me to go on radio? Absolutely.

In March, 2012, I received a dream showing me to start a blog on Internet.

In December, 2015, I had concept of writing book for Kindle. I prayed asking God if that is what HE wanted. By the Holy Spirit, I heard … “I am with you whithersoever you go …” That was good enough for me. I started writing immediately.

Throughout each of the past 30+ years since being born again, I have had assurance of God leading me before I started any work that I felt I was to do.

I have also found when God authors the work there are certain characteristics present:

The work is simple

The money is there for the work … no begging for money

It is not difficult to do the work

There is great joy in going forward

It is not a burden in any way

Everything needed is provided immediately

There is no hardship

Workers are available to me for each step

I receive so many ministers begging me to give them money for their works. There is no example in the Bible of a minister asking for money to do a work that is supposed to be of God. Often these ministers list all kinds of works they have undertaken “in the name of God” and they try to get people to give them money to pay for their “good” works.

What does Jesus say … Mt. 7 …Many will say to ME in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in THY name? and in THY name have cast out devils? and in THY name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from ME, ye that work iniquity.

God did not author that work they speak of as “good”.

Jesus calls that work a work of iniquity though they say it is “good”.

Jesus tells them to “depart from HIM.”

I do not give to ministers who ask for money.

David said: I have been young, and now am old;

yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken,

nor his seed begging bread. Psalm 37:25

The apostle James says the wisdom that is from God is

first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. James 3:17-18

Some ministers are extortioners … using all sorts of pressure techniques, telling you to expect a 100-fold return on your “gift”, stirring up greed and lust in the congregation, appealing to flesh of man as if he is some type of investment broker. This is exceedingly evil.

100-fold return in Bible has nothing at all to do with giving money at church …

Mk. 10 ... Then Peter began to say unto HIM, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.

29And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, 30But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

I am shocked at how brazen ministers can be in their pursuit of money from the church.

They are often masters at making church people feel guilty.

Do not allow such to happen to you.

The ministers who do such buy themselves terrible futures either on this present earth or eternally.

I Tim. 5:24 … Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.

Some sins get exposed on this earth and precede them to judgment. Other men’s sins are hidden and in secrete from us. But all these sins will show up at the day of judgment and there will be great shame then, weeping and gnashing of teeth, and they will really weep when they see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in heaven and themselves cast out for all eternity.

Whether you are a public figure minister or whether you are a private “little” person … you must be very careful about those “good” works you do … those works will be judged by Jesus and be rewarded with great penalty to you or great reward in heaven dependent on whether or not the work was authored by God.

Did God really tell you to do that?

I always examine this over what I do and so should you.

Luke 18 ... Reading through the Bible

1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:  3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. 4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.

6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. 7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. 13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

15 And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them.

16 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. 17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? 19 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.

20 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother. 21 And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up. 22 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. 23 And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.

24 And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! 25 For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

26 And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved? 27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

28 Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.  29 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake, 30 Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.

31 Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. 32 For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: 33 And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again. 34 And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.

35 And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging: 36 And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant. 37 And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by. 38 And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. 39 And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.

40 And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him, 41 Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight. 42 And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. 43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.

God makes a way

Pam Padgett ... member of body of Christ

After high school I went to college and earned degrees that qualified me to work in the field of counseling psychology.  I wanted to work with juvenile delinquents.  But I soon found that I hated this work and was very troubled by it and quickly stopped doing it.    Although I had other jobs after that, I didn't find anything that really seemed to "fit" me and which I enjoyed.

When I was about 30 years old I was working as a secretary at a bank in the Trust Department for a man who was an attorney and CPA.  At first I found the job to be interesting.  But after a year or two I found myself becoming bored and began praying, asking God if there was some other kind of work I could do that would be more interesting to me.

The department I worked in at the bank had been given 2 PC's, but no one knew much about using them.  One PC had never been taken out of the box.  (This was in the mid 1980's and most work was still being done with typewriters and adding machines in our department.)

One day my boss asked me if I would be willing to start using the PC's for all my work.  I told him I would try to do this, but knew nothing about computers.  He agreed to let me take two classes at a community college to learn how to use the PCs.

I got a schedule of classes and my boss and I chose the 2 we thought sounded most useful.  One of these was called "Basic".  We thought this would give a "basic" knowledge of computers.  Neither of us realized this class was teaching the computer programming language called "Basic"!

During the first night of classes I went to the "Basic" class.  As the instructor started talking about programming, I knew very strongly that programming suited me perfectly.

As I drove home I was so thankful to God and kept saying "This is it!"  I knew this was the answer to my prayer.

I completed both classes, and got the PC's setup at my bank job and began using them for my work and helped another secretary setup her work on the PCs as well.  While doing this during the day, I also began taking a night class to learn another programming language.

I needed to take many more courses to earn a programming degree, but I really wanted to work as a programmer as soon as possible and prayed about this.

I felt led to send a letter to computer companies in the area and explained my background and interest in programming.  One small software company hired me as a part-time secretary, part-time programmer.   But the company had financial problems, laying people off, shutting down completely, starting back up much smaller but still financially unstable.  I prayed asking God what to do.  It seemed only a matter of time before there would be lay offs again.

About that time something came in the mail at my apartment telling about classes being offered by the city's Parks and Recreation Department in various subject areas.  I glanced at the mailing and noticed there was a class in how to interview for jobs.  Interviewing for jobs was something that always terrified me.  Even a class in how to interview frightened me.  But as I kept praying about my job situation, this class kept being drawn to my attention.  I came to believe I was being led by God to take this 2-session class, which I did.

The second night of the class the instructor told me she had a contact at FedEx who told her that FedEx had several job openings for entry-level programmers.  The instructor gave me the name and number for this contact and I called her.  She told me that if I would send my resume to her, she would make copies of it and put a copy on the desk of each manager with a job opening.  I sent my resume to her immediately.

A few days later I received a call from one of the managers at FedEx named Dale.  He told me that my resume had come across his desk.  He said that no other managers were interested in interviewing me, but he was.  I laughed to myself, appreciating his honesty.  He sure wasn't trying to impress or flatter me!

During the interview my answers to some of the technical questions were completely wrong.  When I got back to my job at the small software company I told the technical lead how badly I had answered some of the technical questions.  He laughed and said he hoped I wasn't counting on that job, implying there was no way they would hire me after this interview.  I agreed!  I simply considered this interview as good experience to help prepare me for the next interview.

But there was no "next" interview.   Dale called a day or two later and offered me a job at FedEx.  I was shocked but very glad to accept the job.

After working at FedEx for a few months, I asked Dale why he hired me.  I reminded him that I don't have a programming degree and also of how badly I had answered technical questions during the interview.  He responded, "Oh Pam.  We don't do rocket science here".  He went on to say he could tell from my resume that I was pretty smart and that I was a hard worker, and he knew I could do the work.

I have no doubt that God put this in Dale's heart and gave me favor with Dale.

God made the way for me to work in programming (which I very much enjoyed) and at FedEx where I worked more than 23 years until I retired.

It builds my faith each time I consider how God worked in all of this.

(Also, many of the things I learned as a programmer have helped me in what I am doing now with the blog and publishing books.  Even working at a large corporation like FedEx has helped me as I try to navigate through various departments at amazon and google to resolve problems that come up.  And I was financially able to retire a few years ago making me available to do this work when it came about.)

Jeremiah 2 ... Viewing the works of God through scripture

1 Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 2 Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the Lord; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.

3 Israel was holiness unto the Lord, and the firstfruits of his increase:all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the Lord.

4 Hear ye the word of the Lord, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel:

5 Thus saith the Lord, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?

6 Neither said they, Where is the Lord that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?

(They failed to remember what God did in their lives.  Today we must remember how God rescued us from a way of death set by our own flesh.  And we must also continue the race.  We must not be as many who joyfully begin the race only to drop out when things of this life become so important or when they become discouraged, not getting some of the things they desired.  It is not to our credit to begin and drop out.  We work to finish the race we have begun and to hold fast to the faith of God.)

7 And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.

8 The priests said not, Where is the Lord? and they that handle the law knew me not:

the pastors also transgressed against me,

and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.

9 Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the Lord, and with your children's children will I plead.

10 For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing. 11 Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.

12 Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the Lord.

13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

14 Is Israel a servant? is he a homeborn slave? why is he spoiled?

15 The young lions roared upon him, and yelled, and they made his land waste:his cities are burned without inhabitant. 16 Also the children of Noph and Tahapanes have broken the crown of thy head. 17 Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast forsaken the Lord thy God, when he led thee by the way?

18 And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river?

(What are you doing in the world anyway?  That is not your place.  That is what we pass through and is temporary.  That is not our life.  That is death, not life.  What are you doing trying to make a place for yourselves in the world and with the people of the world.  James 4 ... 4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.)

19 Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee:know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the Lord thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord God of hosts.

(It is critical for us to have a "fear of God" ... to know that to depart from that which God tells us will bring death and destruction to us... to know that no matter what it looks like, God's way is the way to go and any other way will be disaster for us.  This is a "fear of God" and it keeps us in the way of God.)

20 For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot.

21 Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed:how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me?

22 For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord God.

23 How canst thou say, I am not polluted, I have not gone after Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done:thou art a swift dromedary traversing her ways; 24 A wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her.

25 Withhold thy foot from being unshod, and thy throat from thirst:but thou saidst, There is no hope:no; for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go.

26 As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets, 27 Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth:for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face:but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.

28 But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble:for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah.

29 Wherefore will ye plead with me? ye all have transgressed against me, saith the Lord.

30 In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction:your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.

(They killed the prophets who would correct them ... they hated the word delivered by the prophets who were sent to them... Therefore they destroyed the way by killing the prophets... Jesus said:  Mt. 23 ...  34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes:and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. 36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation. 37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! 38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. 39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.)

31 O generation, see ye the word of the Lord. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We are lords; we will come no more unto thee?

32 Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.

33 Why trimmest thou thy way to seek love? therefore hast thou also taught the wicked ones thy ways.

34 Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents:I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these.

35 Yet thou sayest, Because I am innocent, surely his anger shall turn from me.

Behold, I will plead with thee, because thou sayest, I have not sinned.

36 Why gaddest thou about so much to change thy way? thou also shalt be ashamed of Egypt, as thou wast ashamed of Assyria.

(Egypt is symbolic to us of this world and the way of this world today.)

37 Yea, thou shalt go forth from him, and thine hands upon thine head:for the Lord hath rejected thy confidences, and thou shalt not prosper in them.
