Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
Yesterday on the blog, we published Mark 15...
1 And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him to Pilate. 2 And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto him, Thou sayest it. 3 And the chief priests accused him of many things:but he answered nothing. 4 And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee. 5 But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled. 6 Now at that feast he released unto them one prisoner, whomsoever they desired. 7 And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection. 8 And the multitude crying aloud began to desire him to do as he had ever done unto them. 9 But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews? 10 For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy. 11 But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them. 12 And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews? 13 And they cried out again, Crucify him. 14 Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him.
Jesus knew ahead of time what they were going to do to HIM ... Jesus had already prayed 3 times that "this cup" be removed from HIM ... but Jesus was persuaded HE had to go through this ...
We can see some of the "emotions" of our flesh would disappear if we knew ahead of time these things were going to happen.
When we try to live godly lives in the Word of God, don't we often suffer reproach from family, friends, neighbors?
How can we be surprised at that which is done against us ... don't we remember what Paul told us ... what Peter told us ... what Jesus told us ...
Remember these scriptures?
II Tim. 3 ... 12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
I Peter 4 ... 12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you:on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. 16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God:and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? 19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
Mt. 10 ... Jesus says ... 34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth:I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. 37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me:and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. 39 He that findeth his life shall lose it:and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
When we speak the Word of God on the issue at hand, we do "good", and sometimes we are surprised that they rise up against us for the good we have spoken.
We should not be surprised when this happens.
We, as human, think we will be rewarded when we speak "good things" ... We will be rewarded but not by man, but by God.
Humans will often fight us and hate us and despise us when we speak the Word of God and when we do the Word of God.
It should not surprise us when this happens.
We know ahead of time, by the scriptures, this will happen.
But ahead of the persecution, we also have the comfort for Peter tells us ahead of time what to do when these things happen to us.
I Peter 4 ... 19 Wherefore
let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of
their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
Jesus, Paul, Peter all told us these things would happen ...
