πŸ’₯ Joan Boney  (Old Testament vs. New Testament)

Isaiah 64:4  For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what HE hath prepared for him that waiteth for HIM.

In the Old Testament only a few men and wonen were given the Holy Spirit.  In the New Testament all who were believers were given the Holy Spirit and this changed everything. For the Holy Spirit in man searches the heart of man to reveal those things given to man by God in the New Testament.
(1 Corinthians 2:12)

The Holy Spirit in us in the New Testament church searches the heart of God to reveal to them those things God has planned for us.

Hebrews 1 (The NT Church has the Holy Spirit of God so they can know things of God)

1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by HIS Son, whom HE hath appointed heir of all things, by WHOM also HE made the worlds;

Therefore the apostle Paul says:

I Corinthians 2:9-10  But as it is written (Old Testament), Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love HIM.

10 But God hath revealed them unto us by HIS Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Just as the spirit of man knows the heart of man, the spirit of God knows the heart of God.

11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The Work of the Holy Spirit in the believer in the New Testament church:

John 14:26  (Jesus says)  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in MY name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 16:13  Howbeit when HE, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for HE shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever HE shall hear (from God) , that shall  HE speak: and HE will shew you things to come.

So now we can know the things God has prepared for us by that which the Holy Spirit reveals to us.

Ephesians 3:14  For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 Of WHOM the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

(JB ... We "bow our knee to God" when we obey what God says and follow God's Word.)

16 That HE would grant you, according to the riches of HIS glory, to be strengthened with might by HIS Spirit in the inner man;

17 That Christ (The Word) may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. 20 Now unto HIM that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, (the power of the Holy Spirit in us) 21 Unto HIM be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Proverbs 3:5  Trust in the Lord (the Word) with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge HIM, and HE shall direct thy paths.

7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

Trust: depend and rely on the ability, strength, and truth of God and the Word HE gives to me

It is such a comfort to be able to depend on God to direct my path by turning to HIM, seeking HIS will and HIS wisdom, and going in the way shown by each word HE gives to me. The way God leads me is the best way for me in whatever I face.

There is no assurance that my own ideas will work, and my own ideas could even cause problems or lead to danger. But the way I'm led by God will work out well.

Last June my husband had a stroke. He has a little residual physical damage left from it. One of these things and, probably the thing that causes him the most frustration, is that his left hand doesn’t work normally, remaining very weak so he is not able to use it like he used to. But thankfully, he is right handed, so that helps.

He still does a number of things around the house that he used to do before the stroke and he wants to do them, which I am happy to see.

Earlier today he was wanting to tie a particular kind of knot in some string so he could hang a mirror.
But he could not manage this, himself, as he needed both hands to do it, so he asked me to do it.

He was trying to show me how to tie the knot but I wasn’t doing it right for some reason and we were both becoming annoyed with each other.

When I saw this, I silently prayed, asking God to please help us so there wouldn’t be a problem.
And, after praying, we both calmed down and it quickly got done.

We always have God with us through His Holy Spirit, which lives inside each of us who belong to Him. And when we ask Him for help, He is there to give us what we need, at that moment.

Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to HIS riches in glory by Christ Jesus (The Word).

Once my husband had been missing a little address book of his where he mostly keeps codes and passwords for computer things. I prayed for help finding it. We both looked for it. I’d searched in the recliner he usually sits in pretty thoroughly, checking the crevices and underneath.

Then he got a new recliner and was taking the old one apart to take out of the house. (Top part slides out of the bottom). He saw that address book there. I had just prayed that if the book was there, that we’d find it before we got rid of the old recliner!
