John 16:33 Jesus says.

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.
10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing OF WHOM thou hast learned them;
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
We must live in peace in the midst of this present time.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

I was born in 1937. Things were different then. It certainly seems people lived by different standards and integrity in individuals was by and different in rules.
Paul warned us:

We must live in peace in the midst of this present time.
I often ride with Pam to Walmart and while she shops I sit in the car and listen to music and watch the people. I see most people walk past me and never look my way. They seem very absorbed in themselves.
I often wave to them, smile, wave my Texas flag at them. A few days ago, one women did laugh when I waved the flag. A few days ago, a middle aged man did smile and wave at me. Mostly they keep their head down and pass me by.
But I'm joyous and of God! And I'm out of debt!
We are very special to God. HE chose us! We are HIS children. We know what it is to be promised eternal life and new "bodies" where there is no illness, no sorrow. Why shouldn't we live above this world and show that joy! And if they should ask us why we are so happy, we simply tell them.
Paul said: So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

But we who know God and are known by God have a joy that cannot be overthrown by man.

Philippians 4:8
So we do not fret over things they do. We keep our peace and joy knowing that this heaven and earth will pass away but the Word of God will continue for ever! And we are part of that.
We keep our peace and joy in the midst of unfairness and woes of men of this world and we deliberately seek after that which is pure, just, lovely.
Because we are Christians.
