I Samuel 16
23 And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.
I find music to be very important to me, especially classical music. I am greatly helped by music played well. I find Mozart to be especially calming and I greatly use the Mozart String Quartets as a calming, orderly influence.
Instrumental music, is pure sound.
Popular music is often disturbing in that lyrics often cause us to focus wrongly on past.

About a year or so ago my daughter's car needed repaired. It was a special kind of garage about 35 miles from where she lives.
She wasn't sure if the car would make it so we followed her in our car. I was praying the entire time that her car would make it and not have to be towed. When she pulled into the garage she didn't make it to a parking spot but she had made it!
A guy came out to get the car and saw where it stopped and just said "don't worry about it, I'll get it into the garage".
We all rejoiced that day that the Lord took us safely to the garage.
PSALM 121: 1-3 I WILL LIFT UP MINE EYES UNTO THE HILLS, FROM WHENCE COMETH MY HELP. 2. MY HELP COMETH FROM THE LORD, WHICH MADE HEAVEN AND EARTH 3. HE WILL NOT SUFFER THY FOOT TO BE MOVED: HE THAT KEEPETH THEE WILL NOT SLUMBER.

Years ago David and I moved to a large city. Our neighborhood was violent....shots in the street.... bloody people at the door....people turning our door knob trying to evade the police... Both David and I were fine with this. When we had a child, we became uneasy for our son. When child was kidnapped on our street, we decided to move.
We started praying and David said he heard where to go but did not want to go there. I asked where. He said next to your mother and dad. (My father had offered each of the his children 2 acres as inheritance several years before). My parents did not get along with us.
As time progressed, we were convinced to move. We started to build a house on my inheritance property. David is a builder so we did all of the work ourselves (except excavation and furnace installation). The plan was to pay cash as we went and for me to stay home. We had enough money for framing, roofing and wiring. David and I moved with our two small boys. ...a three year old and a one year old. When we moved into the shell of the house, there was no central heating system, no completed walls and not one complete bathroom. The first 2 winters were difficult. We relied on wood to heat the house. We had very little money.
Paying cash as we went, progress was very slow. David worked longer and longer hours. The money did not come. I felt that I had to go to work and could not continue to live as we were. I started working 2 days later.
Then things got better very quickly ..... .a furnace, doors, walls with color, light fixtures, and then a bathroom with a toilet, tub/shower and sink together in the same room!!! What a luxury to have heat without building a fire!
Our boys started learning building trade when they were young by helping build our home. They were on the roof when they were in grade school. They worked for my husband in his custom building business. This business was started by David's father and grandfather. Our home was completed (with several additions) before our boys completed high school. Both boys worked for the family business long after they were married.
David and I started to look at other properties in the area. We found property that we really liked. It was not for sale. The owner said that he had no intention of selling. A couple of years later, he (owner) called to say he wanted to sell. He did not place it on the market. After we purchased the property, we were given 2 horses and built a small barn. We went there daily to care for the horses. The thought came to move to the newly purchased property to avoid the day to day horse travel. Our plan was to sell our current property to finance the new construction.
Then our oldest son came to us and said he wanted to buy our first house. (At that time he was married with a young daughter.) He said the house had great sentimental value to him. He helped build it. He said, "It would not be right to sell the house to anyone else." We adjusted our finances so that we were able to sell to him at a price he could afford. It was around $40,000 less than the appraised value.
In the meantime, a neighbor placed their home for sale and decreased the price by $30,000 just so our other son could afford to buy it. They loved our youngest son. They said, "We do not want anyone else to have our house". Our second son, his wife and young son moved there.
We now reside on the purchased property in a new home that we designed, built, and are debt free. Our oldest son now lives in our former home and our second son lives 3 houses down the hill. We all live within 15 minutes of driving time from each other in a rural community.
Recently, I have been thinking how God brought us here and then cleared the land for us all. What a gift!
James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
Deuteronomy 6:18 And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers,
Deuteronomy 5:33 Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.

When I moved to my current house 23 years ago, an elderly couple lived next door. After several years the wife died and her husband, Jim, lived alone in their house. Jim was a retired Marine lieutenant colonel and led a very regimented life.
On Monday of each week we put our garbage cans at the end of our driveways so that garbage trucks would empty them. This was usually done by 10am. Jim watched for the garbage trucks and would take his garbage can into his garage as soon as it was emptied.
One Monday late afternoon I decided to go for a bike ride and went to the garage to get my bicycle. But I kept having a thought to check on Jim's garbage can. At first I didn't recognize this was the Holy Spirit speaking to me and kept trying to ignore this thought saying to myself that it didn't matter to me where Jim's garbage can was. But I finally realized this was the Holy Spirit.
So I looked out the window and saw that Jim's garbage can was still at the end of his driveway. I had never seen Jim leave the garbage can there, but thought maybe he had an early-morning appointment and hadn't been home since the garbage trucks came.
(Once before I had noticed a change in Jim's routine and called to check on him. He obviously thought I had over-reacted and seemed a little irritated. With that experience I didn't want to act too hastily.)
Then I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to go over to where the garbage can was. When I did this I saw that Jim's newspaper had not been picked up. This was very unexpected. He read his newspaper early every morning.
Jim had previously told me he was unable to hear his doorbell, so I went home and tried to call him on the telephone. There was no answer and I left a message. I thought to myself, "If Jim doesn't call me back by 5pm, I'll go over and check on him."
However, this plan was quickly changed when I clearly heard the Holy Spirit say "It won't do any good to wait."
Immediately I got the extra key to Jim's house which he had asked me to keep and went to his house, letting myself into the house while yelling as loudly as I could my name and that I was coming in.
As I started going through the house, I heard a very faint voice say "Help me." Jim's voice was so weak that I had a hard time identifying where he was. Finally I found him on the floor of the kitchen. He had fallen down a flight of stairs the previous evening. His hip and pelvis were broken in multiple places and he was unable to stand. He had pulled himself to the kitchen where the telephone was on a countertop, but he couldn't reach the telephone from the floor. When I found him, Jim had been on the floor nearly 24 hours.
I immediately called 911 and paramedics came within minutes to take him to the hospital.
Jim thanked me for coming over and finding him. I explained to Jim that I didn't know he needed help, but that God knew, and that the Holy Spirit had led me (very insistently) to come find him.

God gave me the following dream a while back which is very instructive for each of us…
A man was running but his head was turned and he was looking behind as he ran forward.
Directly in front of him was a ditch which he was about to fall into because he was looking backwards.
Directly in front of him was a ditch which he was about to fall into because he was looking backwards.
I was reminded of this scripture…
Philippians 3:13-14 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 30:4,5 Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness. For His anger endureth but a moment; in His favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

When we take our dog out to a park for exercise and let her off the leash, she is usually good about staying relatively close by. If she does run off, she usually comes back within a short time, a few minutes.
One day we were walking her at a park and were in an area where there was lots of thick brush beside the path. She ran off into it and we couldn’t see her and kept calling for her. It got to be quite some time, maybe 20 or 30 min. and she still hadn’t come back. I was silently praying for her return. Finally my husband decided he would go into the brush and look for her (not too easy for a person to get through). He came out with her shortly after.
He told me that after he had looked awhile he said a prayer, asking God to let him find her and right after that he heard some noise and there she was!

Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because HE maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to HIS purpose.
These scriptures are comforting to me. The Spirit makes intercession for us. Also all things work together for good to those who love God and are the called according to His purpose.
I have a large noticeable scar on my left upper arm which stretches to that elbow. When I was a baby and had just started to walk, and was staying with my aunt, I accidentally pulled a pot of boiling water off the stove. I was badly burned and taken to the hospital. This resulted in my having a large scar on that arm which is very noticeable. There is no pain, but usually the question is what happened to your arm?
Years later after I was born again, I had a dream where I was twirling around and wearing a white sleeveless dress. Not a care and nothing there to harm me.. That scar was gone. Those scars of life were gone.
We are not here alone and The Holy Spirit makes intercession for us. So glad God gives us all the help we need to fulfill His purpose.

CHURCH GATHERING
IN COLORADO SPRINGS:
July 22-26, 2024
We are going to try to conduct these meetings as Paul said to do when we gather as the church:
I Corinthians 14:26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm (prayer), hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
I Corinthians 14:31 For ye may all prophesy (share) one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
And in the Bible, Jesus says to us:
Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in MY name, there am I in the midst of them.
