True praise: Obeying God ...

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Psalm 148 ...Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the heavens: praise him in the heights.  2Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts. 3Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. 4Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens. 5Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created.

When I read this, I thought of how the sun, moon, stars are created by God for a specific work and how they do the work for which they are created and how they continue doing that work for which they were created.

They stay in place, doing that work, until God tells them to move, then they will move. (II Peter 3)

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. II Peter 3

When we do the will of God, staying in place, moving when God tells us to go, staying when God says "Don't go", we praise the Lord.

When we obey God, we praise God.  And when we obey God, we acknowledge before all that God is our God. Obedience itself is the witness. When we obey God, we worship God.  Worship is obedience to the Word given us by the Spirit of God in the issue of this present life.
