And Samson went down to Timnath, and saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines. 2And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife. 3Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well. 4But his father and his mother knew not that it was of the LORD, that he sought an occasion against the Philistines: for at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel. Judges 14
I thought of how we, as humans, might say: "OH, if only Samson had stayed home that day and not gone down to Timnath ..."
How often have we done something and said if only I hadn't been there ...
But we see from this example a truth from Romans 8:28 ... concerning the elect of God, concerning those chosen by God to HIS kingdom ...
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
Sometimes we end up in strife or have unpleasant things happen with another person and we wish we hadn't talked to that person. There could be times when God is seeking an occasion against that other person and it comes out in these situations.
