Help from God

Cathy Varner ... Member of Body of Christ

Last summer,my daughter and her dog lived with us, and the dog had a bad accident, where the bottoms of her paws got tore up.  At first we took her to the vet every day to have her bandages changed.  I was dreading the time when we'd have to change them ourselves and I might have to do this.  I am very squeamish about things like this.  I asked God for help to do this if I would need to.  To my surprise, after a very short time, the vet told us to leave the bandages off, though it seemed to me the dog's wounds were still pretty raw.  So I  never did have to change bandages, and when I did have to look at or put ointment on the wounds, it was not as bad as I had thought.

The accident must have happened on a weekend, for then when my daughter had to go back to work, I was afraid of how I would get the dog outside for "bathroom" purposes.  It is a fairly large dog, and was quite a chore to lift her, even with two people.  My husband works nights and sleeps in the morning, so he wouldn't be able to help me.  I prayed for help with this.  It was so surprising to me how it worked out.  It had been hard to get her to drink anything, but that seemed to work to my advantage.  I didn't have to try to take her out by myself.  She would  relieve herself only once a day, and it would usually be late in the evening, when my daughter was there to take care of it.  God so wonderfully helped me through this whole ordeal, working out all my concerns.
Another concern I had was how the dog would heal....if there would be complications, and she might have to have any of her paws amputated.  I kept praying this wouldn't happen.  The dog healed quickly with no complications, not even infection.
