Pam Padgett ... teacher
My best friend in college read the Bible and gave me my first Bible.  When
she would hear me say something based on a false teaching from the Catholic
church, she would ask "where is that in the Bible?"  God really used this to
help me sort through doctrines I had been taught, teaching me what was true.
Some years after college this friend married.  A few years after that,
she and her husband divorced.  One night I had a dream in which she was
remarrying.  I immediately sent the dream to her, together with scriptures
showing that a divorced woman cannot remarry without committing adultery, and is
to either stay unmarried or return to her husband.
Romans 7:1
Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law
hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? 2 For the woman which hath an
husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the
husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. 3 So then if,
while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an
adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that
she is no adulteress, though she be married to another
man.
1 Corinthians 7:10 And unto the married I command, yet
not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: 11 But and if she
depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not
the husband put away his wife.
Sadly, I have never heard from her
again.
Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is
the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be
which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which
leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
