Ephesians 4:29 ... Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your
mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may
minister grace unto the hearers.
Exhortation: (Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet)
God showed me that in this context, "grace" means: to cause to glorify God.
Do things we say cause the listener to glorify God?
Often I measure my words this way, and by this I often refrain myself from speaking what I wanted to speak.
Example:
One day I returned from grocery. I noticed the bread I buy now costs $4.50 per loaf where only a short time ago it costs $3.00. When I got home, I started to say this to cleaning lady. Would this cause her to glorify God? NO! This would cause her to be afraid.
I know God will provide my needs but not all know this. And even in my case, sometimes I find the increase in price fearful. But I know to turn to God in prayer to see if there is anything I need to do or if it will be okay as it is. Most people do not know to do this even when they call themselves Christian. They just fret.
So I try to judge my words before I speak, not wanting to trouble anyone needlessly.
Sometimes we have to trouble the person when God gives us a word of correction.
