Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
Many in church groups today sacrifice to God by going to church, giving tithes/offering, singing songs ... while in private they are worshiping other gods, gods of their own minds and gods of their own desires and gods of their own works.
When we read Amos 5, we can see what God thinks of such. We can also see the penalty God sets on such.
Amos 5 ... God says ... 15Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
16Therefore the LORD, the God of hosts, the Lord, saith thus; Wailing shall be in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing. 17And in all vineyards shall be wailing: for I will pass through thee, saith the LORD.
18Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light. 19As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him. 20Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?
21I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies. 22Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
23Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols. 24But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.
25Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel? 26But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves. 27Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith the LORD, whose name is The God of hosts.
Causing people to go into captivity who seem to worship God while in private worshiping other gods ... various forms of captivity:
- debt
- illness (captivity to body)
- captivity to works of own hands (Own ideas)
- captivity to own desires
I know a woman who attended church, no doubt singing songs to God and listening to pretty words. She complained that pastor was making sexual advances toward her. She rebuked pastor for doing this. But all the time she was committing fornication in attempt to find man who would marry her.
I know another woman who attended church from childhood, singing songs to God and giving tithes/offering while committing adultery against her husband in private, becoming pregnant by her adulterous mate, and having abortion murdering own child. (evil fruits of ?love?)
There have been business men and women who attend church and sing songs to God while in private taking advantage of their own customers... thus doing unclean acts.
There is a penalty for all these sins done in private by the church people ... God says: "I will cause you to go into captivity."
And the greatest penalty of all ... God will not accept you ... The real people of God will not be around you.
By this you receive a taste of hell ... separation from God and HIS people.
You can still try to look good and to look approved but the real truth is you are separated from God when you do evil acts in private. Nothing is hidden from God and God reveals truth to HIS people so while you think yourself to be hidden in private of your own walls you have built, you are never hidden from God.
