Matthew 7:7 ... Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find;
knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh
receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it
shall be opened.
Exhortation: Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
James 1 ... But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.
Mk. 11 ... Have faith in God. 23For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
We have to believe in our hearts.
The Holy Spirit searches the heart of God to reveal the will of God to us who have the Holy Spirit. When we have the will of God in our heart, given by the Spirit of God, we can pray in faith knowing the will of God in the issue at hand. Faith is based on hearing from God.
I Jn. 3 ... 21Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. 22And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
When we study a subject like prayer, we need to compare scripture with scripture allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us. If we have just one scripture, it can cause us to view the subject incorrectly and we can cause other people to doubt in such cases and can even cause blasphemy. For example: In a recent college baseball game the coach of Texas was being interviewed by the announcer. The announcer ask the coach the keys to Texas' success. The coach named various things and then he said and "prayer". A few minutes after this, Texas made bad play and went on to lose the game. One of the TV announcers said, "What about prayer? It didn't work." I was very sorry the Texas coach used prayer this way. Does God really take sides in sporting events? Nonsense.
