Psalm 97:10-12 ... Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the
souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in
heart. 12 Rejoice in the Lord, ye righteous; and give thanks at the
remembrance of his holiness.
Exhortation: Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
Peter spoke of exceedingly great and precious promises ... I Pter 1 ... Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: 2Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Psa. 97:10-12 gives us some magnificent promises of God for those born again.
- God preserves our souls ... The devil would like to trouble us. People say contrary things and trouble us. Evil is all around us. But in spite of all this, God preserves our souls ... This is a promise. And God restores our soul when we are troubled.
- God delivers us out of the hand of the wicked (wicked means: those who trouble us or are likely to trouble us) II Peter 2 ... 7And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: 8(For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) 9The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
- God gives light to the righteous ... The world stumbles about in the darkness of their own wisdom ... We who are born again have been given the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth and HE gives us light so we do not walk in the way of this world but in the way of God as we live on this earth. The Holy Spirit reminds us of the Word to show us the right way to go.
Rightly said in Psalm 97, we should greatly rejoice in the remembrance of HIM and the ways HE has helped us.
