Jesus said ... Jn. 17:14 ... I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
When Jesus gives us HIS word to carry, the world hates us because HIS word fails to approve the world. Instead HIS word shows the world their sin. Therefore they hate us because they hate HIM (the Word).
To the world, we smell like death ... they smell their own death when we approach them ...
II Cor. 2 ... For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: 16To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? 17For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
