1 Peter 5:6-7 ... Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of
God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon
him; for he careth for you.
Exhortation: (Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet)
It is humbling to turn to God in prayer for basically we are saying, "I can't take care of this myself."
The flesh of man, human nature, wants to be in control and to be important and to take care of everything himself.
It goes against the flesh and nature of man to humble ourselves by turning to God and depending upon HIM.
Certainly it is critical for us that we learn to do what Peter said ... Taking our problems to God in prayer we when realize we have a concern. Laying everything out in front of God. Asking God what HE wants us to do in this situation. Waiting on Him to show us what to do. Putting our faith in God. Casting all our concerns upon God.
Some people cast all their cares upon other humans, telling them all their problems. This can curse you to do this.
Jeremiah 17 ... Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. 6For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. 8For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
