Ephesians 5:6-7 ... Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because
of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of
disobedience. 7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
Exhortation: (Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet)
There are many in church groups who do not have the Spirit of God and they will quote scripture to you and try to get you to do the scripture they quoted.
But we, who are of God, are led by the Spirit of God.
The devil quoted scripture to Jesus to try to get Jesus to serve him.
Mt. 4 ... And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, 6And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. 7Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship (obey) me. 10Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. 11Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
The word spoken to us by the Spirit of God is the word to obey at that specific point in time.
Several years ago, I was at a grocery store on a Sunday. The woman in front of me at the check out line was rebuking the checker who apparently attended the same church group as this woman. This woman said: "I can't believe you are working on a Sunday." The checker explained. The woman continued her rebuke over working on a Sunday.
Finally I said to this woman, "I can't believe you are buying groceries on a Sunday."
She was shocked.
If you are going to go by Old Testament, you would not even be allowed to leave your tent on the "Sabbath".
But we do not go by Old Testament law in the NT Church. In the NT church, we are free to buy groceries on Sunday. The checker is free to sell groceries on Sunday. The woman carrying the rebuke was not of the Spirit of God. Apparent neither woman understood what the sabbath is in NT church.
