A foundation that will not fail

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Jesus said ... Lk. 6 ... Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, (this is laying that foundation that will never fail)  I will shew you to whom he is like: 48He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

Turn to God in prayer before you start the project.

Wait to hear from God.

When you hear from God, then do what HE shows you.

This gives you an anchor for your soul and though the storm hits, you can know WHOM you believed when you did what you did.

But if your desire is to do something and you fail to position yourself, "Not my will but Thy will be done," you could be turned over by God to your own lust.  This is what happened in Psalm 78.  They were not satisfied with what they had.  They wanted flesh to eat.  God gave them over to their own desire.  God gave them that which they desired but it did not satisfy them.  And while the flesh they desired was in their mouth, the anger of God rose up against them and slew them.

Psa. 78 ... He divided the sea, and caused them to pass through; and he made the waters to stand as an heap. 14In the daytime also he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire. 15He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths. 16He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers. 17And they sinned yet more against him by provoking the most High in the wilderness. 18And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust. 19Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?  20Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people? 21Therefore the LORD heard this, and was wroth: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel; 22Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in his salvation: 23Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven, 24And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven. 25Man did eat angels’ food: he sent them meat to the full.  26He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: and by his power he brought in the south wind.  27He rained flesh also upon them as dust, and feathered fowls like as the sand of the sea:  28And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations. 29So they did eat, and were well filled: for he gave them their own desire; 30They were not estranged from their lust. But while their meat was yet in their mouths, 31The wrath of God came upon them, and slew the fattest of them, and smote down the chosen men of Israel.
32For all this they sinned still, and believed not for his wondrous works. 33Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, and their years in trouble.

Also we have the example of the prophet who desired the ruler's promise of riches.

Numbers 22 ... And the children of Israel set forward, and pitched in the plains of Moab on this side Jordan by Jericho. 2And Balak the son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites. 3And Moab was sore afraid of the people, because they were many: and Moab was distressed because of the children of Israel. 4And Moab said unto the elders of Midian, Now shall this company lick up all that are round about us, as the ox licketh up the grass of the field. And Balak the son of Zippor was king of the Moabites at that time. 5He sent messengers therefore unto Balaam the son of Beor to Pethor, which is by the river of the land of the children of his people, to call him, saying, Behold, there is a people come out from Egypt: behold, they cover the face of the earth, and they abide over against me:  6Come now therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people; for they are too mighty for me: peradventure I shall prevail, that we may smite them, and that I may drive them out of the land: for I wot that he whom thou blessest is blessed, and he whom thou cursest is cursed. 7And the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the rewards of divination in their hand; and they came unto Balaam, and spake unto him the words of Balak. 8And he said unto them, Lodge here this night, and I will bring you word again, as the LORD shall speak unto me: and the princes of Moab abode with Balaam. 9And God came unto Balaam, and said, What men are these with thee? 10And Balaam said unto God, Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, hath sent unto me, saying, 11Behold, there is a people come out of Egypt, which covereth the face of the earth: come now, curse me them; peradventure I shall be able to overcome them, and drive them out.  12And God said unto Balaam, Thou shalt not go with them; thou shalt not curse the people: for they are blessed. 13And Balaam rose up in the morning, and said unto the princes of Balak, Get you into your land: for the LORD refuseth to give me leave to go with you. 14And the princes of Moab rose up, and they went unto Balak, and said, Balaam refuseth to come with us.

And Balak sent yet again princes, more, and more honourable than they. 16And they came to Balaam, and said to him, Thus saith Balak the son of Zippor, Let nothing, I pray thee, hinder thee from coming unto me:  17For I will promote thee unto very great honour, and I will do whatsoever thou sayest unto me: come therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people. 18And Balaam answered and said unto the servants of Balak, If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the LORD my God, to do less or more. 19Now therefore, I pray you, tarry ye also here this night, that I may know what the LORD will say unto me more. 20And God came unto Balaam at night, and said unto him, If the men come to call thee, rise up, and go with them; but yet the word which I shall say unto thee, that shalt thou do. 21And Balaam rose up in the morning, and saddled his ass, and went with the princes of Moab.

And God’s anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the LORD stood in the way for an adversary against him.

Why was God angry with Balaam?  Because God told Balaam not to go.  But because Balaam desired the gift from man and asked God again if he could go, God let him go.  But God was against him in the way.

If we have a desire in our heart and that desire is corrupt and we pray, God might let us do what we want ...but God might still be against us.

So it is important as we pray to sincerely lay down that desire before God ... "Nevertheless not my will but Thy will be done."

(As I was writing this exhortation, the thought came:  "It won't do any good to write these things."  Immediately another thought came that was true and from the Holy Spirit:  "By the foolishness of preaching it pleased God to save them that believe."  1 Cor. 1

The first thought was from the devil ... The devil is a liar and there is no truth in him. (Jn. 8) ... The second thought was from the Holy Spirit and presented the truth in the issue at hand.)
