Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
In Romans 8, Paul told he he was persuaded that neither death nor life could separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus ...
Life throws many things at us ... Jesus said not to worry about tomorrow, take care of today ... 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Mt. 6
We, who are of God, overcome through God,
by turning to God in prayer. Then by doing that which is shown us by
God. God may show us a way to deal with the matter ... or God may give
us grace to be able to endure the situation. Either way, we overcome
through God through prayer and believing what HE shows us and doing that
which we are shown. Thus we find nothing overcomes us ... We do
not fall into traps of the world for God helps us. We do not have to
be depressed nor are we overcome by the various things that happen in
this life when we have access to God and belong to HIM.
Thus Paul says ...
31
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be
against us? 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for
us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33
Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that
justifieth. 34Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea
rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who
also maketh intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
shall
tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or
peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all
the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through HIM that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life,
nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor
things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall
be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus
our Lord. Romans 8
What about physical illness ... Do we overcome even in physical illness?
When there is a physical problem what we need is wisdom... what to do in the problem? We
pray to see what we should do. Do we go to doctor? Do we wait? Is
there any other information God would give us? You might need a medical
doctor ... you might not need a medical doctor in the situation. What you do need is to know what to do. So when there is a problem we pray, asking God what to do.
These
bodies are built "corruptible", they will perish. These physical
bodies are not going with us when we leave this earth. I Cor. 15 .. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump:for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
We
overcome even concerning physical problems. First we recognize the
important thing is the soul and the keeping of our soul. We realize the
physical body is temporary. And we know from the Bible God will not
allow things to happen to us that we cannot endure. (I Cor. 10:13)
I Cor. 10:13 ... 13There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able;
but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be
able to bear it. 14Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
Paul
wanted to be healed from his physical problem. Paul prayed for the
problem to be removed. In Paul's case, that was not going to happen.
God explained to Paul, My grace is sufficient for thee: II Cor. 12:9
Concerning physical problems:
God might heal you. God might have you go to medical doctor. God
might show you that you will need to live with that problem.
This
should not affect the word of God in our lives. If we belong to God we
rejoice in HIM regardless for we have been chosen by HIM to salvation.
Nothing is more important than that.
Some people worship their physical body as an idol, doing all manner of things thinking to preserve their bodies. But these bodies are corruptible and will not be preserved and they will not leave this earth with our spirit.
Our focus should be on the soul, not the fleshly body for it will
deteriorate regardless of anything man can do and it is only temporary.
So correct your thinking if needed and base your thinking on a godly perspective.
I Cor. 15 ... 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep (die), but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the
trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we
shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and
this mortal must put on immortality. (In I Cor. 15 Paul talks about the new body given to the believer when he leaves this earth.)
If
your physical condition, your physical body, depresses you and pulls
you down, you need to adjust your attitude by scripture which shows us
the truth about the temporary situation of the physical body and through
prayer.
We see by the Bible, Luke was a medical doctor in the church ... Col. 4:14 ... 14 Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you. Certainly men such as Luke were there to try to ease the suffering of those who had medical problems in the church.
Many
physical problems and even many deaths happen because people who say
they are Christian misuse scripture, eating and drinking the word of God
incorrectly.
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. 30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep (die) ... I Cor. 11
Another reason for the destruction of the flesh in the church was sin. We see this in I
Cor. 5 ... Paul says ... 1It is reported commonly that there is
fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named
among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife. 2And ye are
puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed
might be taken away from among you. 3For I verily, as absent in body,
but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present,
concerning him that hath so done this deed, 4In the name of our Lord
Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the
power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5To deliver such an one unto Satan for
the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of
the Lord Jesus.
==========
What Paul was telling us in Romans 8 concerning "life" ... Life will not be able to separate us from the love of God.
Take that problem to God in prayer.
Overcome through God. Live victoriously on this earth through God
daily, second by second. Take care of the problems of the day by laying
them out before God in prayer.
A few days ago, I
was going to pick up food. I heard something unusual with my car. I
stopped and looked. The back tire was flat. I turned around and made
it back to my house. Then what? Do I fret and feel, "Poor me" ... NO. Not for a second. This is just a part of life. I prayed, immediately,
asking God to help me, asking God to show me how to get someone out to
change the tire. I had no idea what to do and it was a Sunday and
everything was closed. Monday morning, I called my mechanic and he said
what I needed was a "mobile" tire service. The minute he said "mobile"
I knew I had the answer to the problem. I got on internet and found
mobile tire service and the man was out to my house within the hour and
changed the flat tire to the spare tire. I drove to a tire place and
bought a set of new tires. (My tires were 10 years old ... my car is 20 years old.)
The computer breaks down ... the plumbing has a problem ... one light will not come on ... such is life.
Things happen we do not expect. We take care of those things as they happen. But we do this by praying first ...hopefully ...
But to sit and fret over your problem and let it get you down would be very foolish if you belong to God.
We
must not be overcome by life ... In life (as in death), we who belong
to God are connected to God. Life does not separate us from the love of
God.
Overcome through prayer ... and then by doing that which is shown you by God.
Simple things ... but critical for us in this life.
We harm ourselves greatly when we allow devils to trouble us over this life.
We do such harm to ourselves when we fail to overcome and when we allow
devils to move in and depress us and weight us down. We have access to
God. We must use that access continually in life. We must overcome
through God in all things pertaining to this life.
==========
A
month ago, I went to doctor. They handed me a paper to fill out. At
the end of the medical questions, there were several questions about
depression and a check list ... 5 items were on that list and we were
supposed to check one item. They ranged from: severe depression to occasional depression.
I did not check any of these five items.
(These
medical people assume you must have some depression so they don't even
have a category for "never depressed" on their survey.)
I wrote to the side of their depression questions: Never depressed (this is true) ... When problem comes, I turn to God in prayer and HE helps me ...
(Several
days after this I asked Pam Padgett if she is ever depressed. She said
she is not ... then she added, "but I have to work at it by turning to
God" ... that is exactly what each of us must do if we are to overcome in life.)
We are wrong when we allow this life to overcome us and we do harm needlessly to ourselves (and often to others) when we fail to take the problem to God in prayer.
