The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Exhortation: Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
Many people today will say, "The Lord is my shepherd" ... but they lack many things and strive to get many things ... and often they want reputation among men and work toward that ...
So what is going on?
If "the Lord" (Jesus, The Word of God) is that which we are living by, following daily by the Spirit of God, constantly, we will be moved into "green pastures" beside "still waters".
When the Lord (the Word) is leading us and we are following HIM (the Word) by HIS Spirit ... so many things we do will be opposite from the things other people do.
For example:
- We make ourselves of no reputation instead of striving to be on top ... Phil. 2:7
- We are no longer trying to accumulate money for our future as other do ... Mt. 6:19-34
- Having food and raiment we are content, not trying to get more for future ... I Tim. 6:6-11
- Our focus is on God and what HE wants and we continually seek HIS will in the matters pertaining to this present life, thereby serving HIM instead of ourselves.
There will be no "want" when we follow the Spirit of God in the issues of this life.
Most people follow what seems wise to themselves though they often say, "Jesus is Lord". Their "lord" is their own wisdom and the wisdom of other men. And very often they set themselves up for a fall.
We, who are of God, follow HIM by HIS Spirit, doing HIS Word ... and we have a sure thing as we live on this earth and there is no want because we follow HIM.
