Psa. 111:2

Pam Padgett - teacher

Psalm 111:2 The works of the Lord are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.

When I have received wisdom or help from God it has been perfect, far better than what I could even imagine.  It brings me joy to consider times I haven't known what to do and God was able to get through to me to show me the way to go.  Or times I was afraid and God provided comfort for me in some way.  Or times I've been in danger, and God delivered me from harm.

One example was when I didn't know what to do when I was told the roof of my house needed to be replaced, but the insurance company covered only to replace a small number of shingles.  It looked to me as though the insurance company was the problem.

When I turned to God and laid the problem out before Him, I had the thought (I believe from the Holy Spirit) to ask the roofer to submit an estimate for replacing the entire roof and for me to send a letter to the insurance company about this.  Shockingly, when I asked the roofer to submit this estimate, he told me it would do no good and that I should find another roofer.  Another roofer inspected the roof and submitted the needed estimate, which the insurance company quickly accepted and paid.

I had thought the insurance company was the problem, but the first roofer was the problem!  By going in the way I believed God showed me, the first roofer was removed and there were no further problems. It causes me to marvel in God to consider how simply and effectively HE helped me.

My works and the works of other people fall short or miss the mark altogether.

But that which God does has never lacked in any way.  It is God's help I seek.
