Abel gave "by faith" ... Heb. 11:4 ... By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
It is not a matter of giving what you do not have. (Some churches teach their people to give this way.)
But rather it is giving what you do have ... but it must be done correctly ... willingly, gratefully, ... not of "necessity", not because you think you must give ... rather you want to give because you are so very grateful to God ...
