Matthew 6;31-34 ... Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Matthew 6:31-34 ... Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

The above instruction is exactly opposite from the instruction given by people of this world and opposite to that followed by people of this world.  The worldly people plan for retirement.  They are constantly trying to get more money.  They try to save money for future.  They worry about the price of gas and such things.  They seem very wise as they do these things.

But Jesus tells us to take no thought of tomorrow... Jesus tells us to focus on seeking the kingdom of God, the will of God, and to focus on HIS righteousness, that which is right in the sight of God.  And when we do that, "all these things will be added to us."  Mt. 6

We are told not to make ourselves of reputation among menPhil. 2 ... Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

We are told not to seek riches on this earth but rather having food and raiment to be content.  I Tim. 6 ... But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.  11But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 12Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

The way of God for us is so different from that which we hear from worldly humans.

If we go in the way of the flesh, we will go in a way of death.

If we go in the way of the Spirit, we go in way of life.

James 4 ... Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: 14Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.  15For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will,  we shall live, and do this, or that. 16But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
