Philippians 3:12-14 ... Not as though I had already attained, either
were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that
for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count
not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting
those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things
which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high
calling of God in Christ Jesus. 15Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded:
Exhortation: Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
Memories of past will come. By direct act of will, we refuse to entertain those memories.
Forgetting does not mean those memories will never come.
By act of will we choose not to think on those bad things of the past and we choose instead to think on things God has shown us or things God has done. This is a deliberate choice.
We can escape by thinking on a word God has given us on the subject at hand if we have a specific word from God on the subject.
For example: The memory of a past sin comes to your mind. If you have not settled that sin with God, then settle it. But if you have already settled it with God then you think on that word which confirms that it is settled. And once it has been settled with God, you refuse to settle it again for you must believe that sin has been settled. We put our faith in God that it has been settled rather than allowing devils to rake it all up again.
It takes faith in God.
Phil. 4:8 ... Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
