Be not conformed to this world

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Romans 12:1-2 ... I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

This world today displays without any shame at all women who are pregnant and unmarried ... and unmarried people living together and having sex ...

Eventually with the mass of people and even with some church people this can get to seem "normal".

But Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today, and forever.  (Heb. 13:8)

Society changes but Jesus Christ (THE WORD) does not change.

When Paul said "Flee fornication", (I Cor. 6) that word is just as valid today as it was when Paul spoke that word.

I Cor. 6 ... Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.  14And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power. 15Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. 16What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. 17But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 18Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

Fornication is a sin different from all other sins.  Fornication is a sin against "his" own body.  I believe fornication is a sin against Jesus and against the body of Christ.

When I am watching a TV show or sport event and they begin to talk and show "couples" and say they live together, I quickly turn aside, knowing the evil in the sight of God and not wanting to expose myself to evil.

When evil is repeated it can get to seeming "normal" and thereby be "accepted".

So we have to keep ourselves tuned into the Word of God and refreshed to God's way which is all that matters.

Be not conformed to this world ...  This means do not allow yourself to agree with this world and it's ways when they conflict with Bible.  Keep the standards given us in Bible.

But be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind ... To transform means changed ... We renew our mind daily to the Word of God, keeping before us the Word of God showing us the way of God from which this present world is moving farther and farther.

When we compare the 1940's to 2014, we shock ourselves.  Movies of the 1940's hint at various sins but these things were not approved by the general public as they are today.  There was an open shame attached to fornication and adultery in that period of time.  Now people flaunt such in front of the eyes and ears of those persons who will listen.  Rebuke would shock them for there is so little rebuke. And homosexuals are being praised and accepted today is a type of avalanche, even in some church groups.

Paul warned us things would become more wicked ...

II Tim. 3 ... This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,  4Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away

... evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 14But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

It is so important for those of us who belong to God to keep our minds refreshed daily to the Word of God.

For this reason, we end each daily writing with a list of Bible chapters to encourage ourselves to read these scriptures.  I know it helps me to read them.  Each time I read them I know I am blessed and restored and refilled again with God's thinking.
