Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
Mt. 4 ... And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. 19And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. 21And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. 22And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.
In these remarkable examples we see immediate obedience to the Word of God.
Peter and Andrew just walked away from their nets ... leaving all behind to follow the call of God.
James and John obeyed the call immediately and they left the ship and their faith and followed the call of God.
Ex. 30:3 ... Thou shalt have no other gods before ME.
Nothing and no one is before God. Everything is set aside to answer the call when God speaks.
Mk. 10 ,,, Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. 29And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, 30But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
One thing you want to be sure of is that it is God calling you to do something. If you think God is calling you, it would be good to pray and ask HIM for confirmations. That "spirit" that is bringing the "call" to you should be tried according to the instruction in I Jn. 4 ... (Please read: How to try the spirits to see if they are from God)
We need to answer the call of God immediately as soon as we have established it is God speaking to us.
But we do not want to be too anxious to go to a cross ... Jesus prayed 3 times about the cross set before HIM.
Be sure you are hearing from God ... and also you need to know the way to do the call once you are sure the call is from God.
Several years ago, at the church I was attending, a young married couple announced that God was sending them to Israel to "minister". They quit their jobs and went to Israel. In about a week they returned to Dallas. They said they couldn't speak the language there and couldn't do anything. I suspect they got all excited thinking God had selected them for a "great work" and they did not test the spirit to see if it really was God giving them these ideas. Church people are often very anxious to do things for God. But is it God speaking? That must be established first.
We pray asking for confirmation. We can also try that spirit when the ideas are brought to our mind. I Jn. 4 ...
