1 Timothy 6:17-19 ... Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

1 Timothy 6:17-19 ... 17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; 18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; 19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Riches from God are very different from riches acquired by man.

Most people try to get more money.  This would be riches acquired by man.

Riches acquired from God come when we seek the kingdom of God daily and focus on HIS will daily.  Then we find we are not thinking of acquiring riches but rather are just trying to please God and focus on today, not on tomorrow.  This is opposite from way of the world.  And when we do this, "all these things are added unto us" without our trying to get things.  Mt. 6

Jesus warned us that we cannot serve two masters for we will end up loving the one and hating the other ... Therefore we cannot seek money and try to accumulate more money and serve God at the same time.  Some people try to do this but it cannot be done.  Some people say to themselves they will acquire riches so they can give to the church but in the acquisition of riches they invariably set aside parts of the word of God in their lust for more money.  They may even give to the church but that doesn't make it right.

Mt. 6 ... Jesus says ... Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. 23But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
24No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
25Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life,

... But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

I Tim. 6 ... having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

Do you have food for today? Do you have clothing?  If so, we are told to "be content".  Relax.  Turn to God in prayer.  Allow yourself to be led by the Holy Spirit today.  Set aside tomorrow and focus on today.  As you do this daily, you will get to the right position.  Focus on that which is right in the sight of God.
