1 John 3:1-3 ... Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed
upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world
knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons
of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that,
when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he
is. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even
as he is pure.

The world doesn't know us. Because the world doesn't know The Word.
The world follows after money and praise of men. That is because they are not of God. Some seek out and follow fleshly religions which make them seem to be righteous.
We who know The Word and live by The Word go another way. We know God is a spirit and we know we do not have to go to a building to communicate with God. We do not have to go through a man to pray. We go directly to God because we belong to Jesus Christ who made a way for us to go directly to God through HIS own blood.
We focus on today not on tomorrow as the world does. The world makes longs lists of plans for both today and tomorrow so they can get where they want to be. (We want to be where God wants us ... Thy will be done ...Therefore we focus on today and on that which God has told us by HIS Spirit.)
We do the following and end up exactly where we should be by doing the following.
Mt. 6 ... Jesus instructs ... Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
The people of the world try to advance themselves in reputation, fame, glory, money, riches, physical appearance.
We, who are of God, are changed from the people of the world and now we can serve God instead of serving our own selves. We are recreated over and over "in HIS image" as we hear from God daily and follow HIM.
