Prayer is a part of the whole armor of God

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Eph. 6 ... Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.    13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Putting on the "whole armor of God" means "dressing ourselves" in the various parts of the armor of God:
- truth
- righteousness
- the gospel of peace
- the shield of faith
- the helmet of salvation
- the sword of the Spirit
- prayer

I find these daily exhortations help me to dress myself in spiritual things.

When you know someone is of God, it is not unusual that the devil would try to bring thoughts to you to divide you from that godly person.

One way to stop this is to pray for that person.  It clears up things and it is a spiritual warfare weapon.

I am speaking of praying for the godly ... I'm not speaking of praying for those who commit sins unto death.  John said he was not saying they should pray for sins unto death.  I Jn. 5

A sin unto death is a sin that continues to be committed after that person has the knowledge of God.

Romans 1:28 ...And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

I Jn. 5 ... If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. 17All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

In Jn. 8, Jesus forgave the woman who committed adultery but Jesus told her:  "Go, and sin no more."

After she had been forgiven and instructed, if she chose to continue in adultery this would be a sin unto death.  There would be no more sacrifice for that sin according to Heb. 10.

Heb. 10 ... For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 30For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

But there are times we sense a problem in the life of another Christian ... we sense a temptation there ... and certainly we can and should pray when we are aware of such, especially if it is not a sin unto death.

Prayer often closes doors on devils.  Therefore prayer is a weapon for us to use.
