There is not one word in the New Testament concerning the lighting of candles in regard to a spiritual act.
The lighting of candles is simply an act of the flesh of man. It has nothing at all to do with God in any way.
There is no power at all in lighting of candles. It is just a work of the flesh.
We do not connect with God by the works of the flesh. We connect with God through the Spirit of God.
Jn. 4 ... Jesus says ... the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Anything you can see with your natural eye is flesh.
That which cannot be seen is Spirit.
