Recently I had to correct a man twice over the way he was misusing scripture. He didn't respond to the first correction which I had sent by email. After I sent another correction by email, he did respond. He said he recognized by this my concern for him.
I replied: My concern is for the Word of God. I've always had a very strong fear when it came to scripture. Even before I was born again I was afraid of scripture and especially the misuse of scripture.
When a person misuses scripture the way this man did he often causes people to follow him and ends up setting up false doctrine in various church groups.
But always my concern is for the way the Word of God is being used.
