Mishandling the Word of God

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Recently I met a young man who knew a lot of scripture and he knew where scripture was when I spoke.  I thought maybe he was a pastor.  I even told him this.  He said many people have said that to him.

But the problem was this:  Though he knew scripture he misused scripture and added things which were not there to the Bible examples.

This makes this young man a false teacher.

There are many false teachers today who are pastors and ministers.  Most of them want to do good so they go to Bible School with the intention of becoming a minister.

But they are not called by God and anointed by God.  The probably do not have Holy Spirit.

When we are called by God and anointed by God, it is God Who teaches us and makes us able workers in His church.

Paul explained:

II Cor. 3 ... Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
6Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

II Cor. 4 ... Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; 2But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

I Cor. 2 ... And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:  5That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

I Jn. 2 ...These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. 27But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

The Holy Spirit is The Spirit of Truth.  The Holy Spirit does not mishandle scripture.  The Holy Spirit does not add things to the Bible.  It is "another spirit" that does that.

There is great danger in mishandling Bible.  The eating and drinking of the Word of God is partaking of the Lord's supper.  And if we do this incorrectly, Paul tells us:   he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.  30For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.  I Cor. 11
