God brought various signs and wonders on Pharaoh and the people of
Egypt by the hand of Moses before delivering the children of Israel from
Egypt. One of these was great darkness over the land of Egypt.
For three days the darkness for the Egyptians was so thick it could
be felt and they could not see one another. Yet the children of Israel
had light in their dwellings ...
Exodus 10:21 And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand
toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even
darkness which may be felt. 22 And Moses stretched forth his hand toward
heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three
days: 23 They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for
three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
We see a similar thing as we are around those of the world, not physical
darkness but great spiritual darkness. Trying to find their way in
whatever they are doing but not having the Holy Spirit guiding them.
But for those who have been born again, the Holy Spirit leads and guides us by the word God gives, shining light on the way we should go.
