1 Corinthians 1:26-31 ... For ye see your calling, brethren, how that
not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are
called: 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to
confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to
confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world,
and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which
are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29 That no flesh should
glory in his presence. 30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God
is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and
redemption: 31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let
him glory in the Lord.
Exhortation: Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
We do not come to God through a man. We might admire a person but we do not come to God because of that person by imitating that person.
Jesus explains that as follows:
Jn. 6:44 ... No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him:
Jesus also spoke of this in Mt. 16 ... When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
God revealed HIMSELF, Jesus, The Word, directly to Peter. This is also what it says about the NT church, the New Covenant. Heb. 8 God says: I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: 11And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
An example: The night I was born again, I was reading a book about sin. I thought it was because of that book that I was born again. I bought many copies of that book and gave those books to other people and nothing happened to them as a result of that book. Some people might think they were born again because of an evangelist they heard or a pastor or a friend. But we are born again as God wills. Romans 9 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
I can't cause you to be born again. You can't cause yourself to be born again. It is by the will of God when this happens.
Therefore we learn not to glory in other humans. Just as that book didn't cause me to be born again, no man caused you to be born again. It is all by the will of God, not by the will of man.
We who are born again just speak truth ... and sometimes God uses that truth and opens the eyes of the unbeliever. But we spoke by the leading of God and the will of God and God did as HE willed with that truth.
Therefore salvation is always of God and as Jesus said, No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him:
Jn. 6:44
