Jn. 6 ... Jesus said ... 44No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
45It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught (by) God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned (from) the Father, cometh unto me.
Salvation is by the will of God for each individual HE calls.
Heb. 8 ... God says ... 10For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: 11And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. 12For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
God puts HIS laws directly into our hearts and minds so we know HIM and we know the will of God.
And to the NT church God gives HIS Spirit as "earnest" of our salvation. (It is like earnest money when you go to buy property. It holds the property until you are ready for it.) We, who have the Holy Spirit, have been given an "earnest" by God to the day of our salvation if we continue in His word and do not draw back unto the perdition we came from before God revealed HIMSELF to us.
So if you are of God it is because God drew you to HIM and gave you HIS Spirit and made you one with HIM.
In your household there are likely those who do not understand. Neither would you understand except it was by the will of God. No man can get this for himself. You can't get this for any other person. It is all by the will of God. But those persons chosen by God are changed and no longer one with this world for they are now one with God.
Col. 3 ... 3For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Because we belong to HIM and have been made one with HIM, we are changed from our previous life. We no longer live in adultery, fornication, idolatry and our previous sins. At this point, we choose HIM after we have been chosen by HIM for we choose to put away those past sins unto death and live in HIM who is truth and holiness. We live by HIS Spirit which is now in us.
