Dressing in a wedding garment

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Mt. 22 ... And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said, 2The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, 3And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come. 4Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage. 5But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise: 6And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them. 7But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. 8Then saith he to his servants,  The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy. 9Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage. 10So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
11And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: 12And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. 13Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 14For many are called, but few are chosen.

Countless numbers of church people try to dress themselves in things that are authored by other men or by their own fleshly minds rather than things authored by God.

They try to dress in religious things ... or even in things that godly people do.

But they do these things without being born of the Spirit of God.  They are just imitating those religious thing or religious people that they admire.  But they, themselves are not religious not being born again.

Jn. 3 ... Jesus says ... Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.  8The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Unless you have the Spirit of God in you showing you what to do, you will not have on the appropriate "wedding garment".  If you try to come to the wedding by dressing yourself, you will be cast out.

Jude ... 17But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18How that they told you there should be mockers (imitators) in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. 19These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

These persons are mockers ... imitators of those person who are godly.  Some have gone to church all their lives but are not of God, having not the Spirit.  They "separate" themselves by their own flesh, that is to say they separate themselves to the church without having the Spirit of God.  Thus they are always off in their religious works.

You cannot do religious works without having the Spirit of God.

Here is an example of a woman trying to dress herself only to find she is putting on an inappropriate garment.

This was a woman in our little church group.  She said to me that she was reading in Mt. 5 ...  23Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. But this woman had not offended me.  I told her so.  She dressed herself in a scripture that was not appropriate, having not the Spirit to lead her.

You can't follow God unless you have the Spirit of God leading you.  You can dress yourself in that which another spirit says but you will not work the work of God unless it is by the Spirit of God.
