Proverbs 31:30 ... Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Proverbs 31:30 ... Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Physical beauty is so often a downfall.  It is like Satan who fell from heaven and he was the most beautiful of all creatures.

Isaiah 14 ... Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.
12How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

15Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

Often people take something that is beautiful and from God and pervert it and turn it into hell as they seek their own glory from their inherited beauty or intelligence or talent.

It is such a shame.  But like Lucifer, the devil, they act in their perversions as they trouble themselves and others with their gifts from God that should be a blessing but end up damning them.  So it is with the physical beauty of some and with the talents of others and with superior intelligence and various achievements.

It would have been better for them had they been born ugly.

Eternity is a long time.  When a rich, famous, or physically beautiful person dies, I often think:  And where are you now?

It is very sad to me.

Prov. 31 starts with the question:  Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

In the NT that godly man or woman is the one God has chosen, the one God reveals HIMSELF to.  When God does that, God also gives that man or woman the Holy Spirit so that man or woman can go in another way instead of a self-consuming way of this world.  This causes salvation to be of God and not of ourselves.  Salvation is by the will of God when it comes to the individual.
