Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
In the Bible, we see glimpses of what it will be like in heaven and what eternal life will be like.
Isaiah. 65 ... For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. 18But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. 19And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
The above scripture shows me that we will not remember this current life. That makes sense to me for if we thought of people we know now and we didn't see those people in heaven we would sorrow and grieve. But there will be no more sorrow in heaven. There will be no tears or grief. So our memory of this present earth and it's people and events will be wiped from our thoughts. the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
Recently something happened which gave more more understanding of the former things not coming to mind in heaven. Pam mentioned something from past. I had told her about this situation. But when she mentioned it to me I had no recall at all of any part of it. It was like the whole thing was removed from my mind. I still have no recall of this situation. The memory would not be pleasant for me if I did remember it for the people in the setting are rebellious and disobedient.
People so often think heaven will be like it is on earth. I'm so glad it won't be for there are many things on earth that are not pleasant.
The Sadducee did not believe in the resurrection and they were trying to trick Jesus and show there could be no resurrection. Mt. 22 ... The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him, 24Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. 25Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother: 26Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh. 27And last of all the woman died also. 28Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
29Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. 30For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. 31But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, 32I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. 33And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.
Aren't we the bride of Christ and in heaven won't we be Christ's bride?
And the concept of eternity ... what an idea this is. It never ends.
Only those persons born again will enter the kingdom of heaven.
Jn. 3 ... Jesus said ... Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God... Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
Paul said: Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? II Cor. 13:5
It is not just a matter of joining a church or being a life long member of a church. It is a matter of God revealing HIMSELF to you and giving you HIS Spirit to dwell in you and guide you and lead you and teach you.
Romans 8 ... Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His... For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
You must be born again. Have you been?
