Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
I Cor. 1 ... For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 27But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29That no flesh should glory in his presence. 30But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
In the 1970's the football coach of the Dallas Cowboys, Tom Landry, often spoke of witnessing. He said he was in the perfect place to witness, being a famous coach of a famous, winning team. In the 1980's I was in a prayer group in Dallas the the wife of the owner of the Dallas Cowboys was in that group. By that time the winning Cowboys had turned into a losing Cowboys and were often at the bottom of the league. I said to this woman, now that the Cowboys are a losing team is Tom Landry still a good witness of Jesus Christ? All this is fleshly.
We do not come to Christ nor draw men to Christ because we are rich, famous. If they are drawn to Christ through us and their admiration of us this is fleshly and is not real.
Jesus said no man can come to Him except the Father draw him. Jn. 6
In I Cor. 1, this is what God is saying to us. "That no flesh should glory in His presence." ... Not many high men according to the flesh (famous men, rich men) are called. He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
