Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
Jesus spoke often in parables so that the ones not chosen by God would fail to understand. And certain events bewildered those not chosen by God.
Jn. 6 ... Jesus said ... And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
41The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.
42And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?
Jesus was hidden from them for they reasoned with their natural eye.
Another point where this happened is as follows: Jn. 7 ... 45Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him? 46The officers answered, Never man spake like this man. 47Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived? 48Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him? 49But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed. 50Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,) 51Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth? 52They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet. 53And every man went unto his own house.
They thought they had proof this Jesus could not be the Messiah. They didn't realize Jesus was born in Bethlehem where the promised Christ would be born. They were blinded to things of God by their own wisdom.
