John 1:1-3 ... In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and
the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things
were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

And we know God created the heaven and the earth by HIS word. There was no previous material from which God created the heaven and the earth. God just spoke and it was created.
Heb. 11:3 ... Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
From time to time I will be watching TV and they will show magnificent mountains and the announcer will say, "And how was this created?" and I say, "God created it by HIS Word."
It is all very simple to those of us who belong to God. God spoke and it appeared. That is the power of God.
And at the end, God will speak and the heavens and the earth will pass away.
II Peter 3 ... The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
And God creates a new heaven and a new earth "wherein dwelleth righteousness" ... II Peter 3:13 This new heaven and new earth will be only righteousness and only those approved by God will dwell here. There will be no offense, no fear, no devils, no disturbance, no tears, no death. And it will be forever, eternal.
