How the Son of God was revealed to the people

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Jn. 1 ... 14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us ...

But the name of "the Word" was not told to the people.  They did not know HE would be called Jesus.

Andrew (Peter's brother) heard John the Baptist witness as to this Jesus being the Son of God.  Jn. 1  Andrew told Peter about this and said to Peter ... We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.  42And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

Mt. 16 ... 13When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist:  some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

God revealed Jesus directly to Peter.

Some believed when they saw the works done by Jesus.  Lazarus had been dead 4 days when Jesus arrived at the tomb.  After such a time, the body would stink, Martha (the sister of Lazarus) said to Jesus.

Jesus said:  Lazarus, come forth. 44And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. Jn. 11

Very powerful witness of the works of Jesus.  45Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him. 46But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.  So some believed on Jesus at this point while others ran to the Pharisees.  We see that some were then of God and others were not of God.

Jn. 12 ... 9Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead. 10But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death; 11Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.

... The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record. 18For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle. 19The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.

So now the Pharisees have the problem of those witness who saw Jesus raise Lazarus from the dead.  They went about telling of this.  And Lazarus was walking about alive as a witness.

Many believed yet some did not believe.

Sometimes Jesus revealed HIMSELF by telling the person what he was doing in the past ... This happened with Nathaniel.

Jn. 1 ... The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me. 44Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. 45Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. 46And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see. 47Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile! 48Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee. 49Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

We also see this in Jn. 4 with the woman at the well ...

Jn. 4 ... Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither. 17The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said,  I have no husband: 18For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
... 25The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. 26Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
... 28The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, 29Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

Today most of the people of this world have likely heard of this Jesus.  There can be no doubt there was a child born to Mary and this child was named Jesus.  Some believe on HIM while others do not believe on HIM.  Those appointed to be saved are saved and are given the Holy Spirit and believe.

Acts 2:47 ... And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

The Bible is filled with examples of God choosing those persons appointed to salvation.

God choose Abraham and then created the nation of Israel and then chose them.  Then God surprised Peter by showing him HE made a way for salvation to come to the unclean, to the Gentiles, and then God told Peter not to call that which God cleansed unclean.  Acts 10  What a shock ... God was saving Gentiles!

God saves whom HE pleases.

Like a wildfire salvation was occurring, not just among the Jews but also among other nations.

But all this was as God determined and to whom God determined.

Thus Paul explained:  they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: 7Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. 8That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. 9For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son. 10And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac; 11(For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) 12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.   13As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
14What shall we say then?  Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. 15For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. 17For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. 18Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.  Roman 9

Eventually we come to understand the amazing truth.  Salvation is of God and to whom God wills.  It is not of works of man for then man would glory.  It is simply by the will of God.  It has nothing to do with good nor with evil, as is explained by the children Jacob and Esau who before they were born having salvation determined by God and damnation determined by God.  The same example of being created to damnation coming through the example of Pharaoh.  He was made a vessel to destruction by the potter, by God.

So we who are determined by God to salvation rejoice that God chose us.

There is such a thing as a reprobate mind which is one who turns away from the truth and is damned.

II Cor. 13 ... 5Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves.  Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Romans 1 ... 21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.  26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;   29Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:  32Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Heb. 10 ... 26For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 30For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

We often cite Romans 1 as homosexuals and lesbians being turned over to reprobate mind but it also pertains to fornicators, adulterers, covetousness, and others.

One of the reasons we are faithful to God to do these daily exhortations is because of the following instructions.

Heb. 10 ... 25Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. 26For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
