As a parent, what are your thoughts toward your children.
When we are chosen by God and HE is our Father, are HIS thoughts of evil to destroy HIS children. Isn't God better than even the best earthly parent? For earthly parents don't always know what is best but God always know what is best for us. HE works things out to bring us to "an expected end" ... Therefore we are confident in the following: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
Psa. 84 ... For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. 12O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
If it is a good thing for us, God will not withhold it.
If it is something that would keep us from doing the will of God as HE desires, that is another matter. Then it would not be a good thing.
There have been times I have wanted something and it was withheld from me. Years passed and I was thanking God HE kept me from getting that.
