Fight the good fight of faith

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

We have two choices.

We can fight the fight of faith ... or ... we can pull back into perdition (destruction).

How can we do anything but go forward in the faith, being sure our faith is in God and not in ourselves or others.  Steadfastly purposed to believe what God has said.

But some will follow seducing spirits and depart from the faith.  I Tim. 4 ... Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Paul said seducers would increase, growing worse and worse in the last days.  But Paul gave a solution:

II Tim. 3 ... But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

We grab the scripture, cling to it, and refuse to turn loose!

There have been times in my life that mental attacks from the devil were so bad I simply got into my bed and kept saying over and over, Praise God, thank you for my salvation ... Praise God, thank you for my salvation ... Praise God, thank you for my salvation.

This happened when I was a new Christian in l975.  I didn't know much doctrine at that time.  So I just clung to what I knew.  After about 20 minutes or so of repeating these words, the attack stopped and I relaxed ...

But we don't want to fall back from the faith in God and go with other spirits for this is a sure path into destruction.

Heb. 10 ... Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. 36For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. 37For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. 38Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. 39But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

In Numbers 13, we see the example of God sending men in to search out the land that HE was giving them.  Caleb and Joshua came back with a good report.  There were giants possessing that land at the time but Caleb and Joshua said, "We are well able ..."  They were depending upon what God had told them.  God said HE gave them this good land.  But the others said they were not able because of the giants.  The people then became fearful.

People can carry fearful thoughts to us through their lack of faith in God ... or those thoughts can just come directly into our minds.

But when we turn to God and ask HIM about those fearful thoughts, HE shows us truth so we know what to do.  If we need to take action HE will show us.  If we need to do nothing HE will show us.  And whatever HE shows us will work.  So we purpose to believe what God shows us and we hold on to that, going forward by faith in God and what HE said.

The only option to this is to fall back into perdition (destruction) ... Who wants to do that?
